I have NEVER Played a GTA in my life and dont know anything about it. Like the gun called "CJ" or tommy vermecelli from driver is in this game. all i know. Anyway, i thought id start off with GTA 1. WHat are some tips i should know?Β

I am curious what made you decide to play the first and oldest one instead of the newer ones? Everyone goes for newer ones but I like that you want to start with the beginning. The stories aren't exactly connected with each entry, if that's what you might be thinking (you won't miss anything). But is worth playing all of them though if that's what you're looking for of course, they're all great.

As for GTA 1, it is a very short game and very straight forward, not much tips to give really aside make sure the controls are correct, it's just a bit weird as it is top down view, it was done way better in GTA 2.

CJ and Tommy Vercetti are two protagonists from the next games, but don't get spoiled on those yet if you will start with the first one.

Also you are referencing Driv3r there it seems? Sadly I haven't played that game but it's just the characters share similar name but it isn't the same.

1. It would be nice to see how it evolved, and oldest is simpler.
2. Really? Why?
3. Yes i wanna play all
4. Ah, got it. I'm doing quite well with the view however.
5. Oh, i thought CJ was a gun and i thought Tommy was from Driver first.Β
6. I'll try not to get spoiled.
7. Yes, because there is a character named Timmy Vermecelli

I see that's a great start, have fun. If you have any questions or you want help with anything when it comes to missions tips and such let us know here or in the Guides & Strategies / Help & Support sections for each game but that's for the next ones, still a long way.

I will replay GTA1 and GTA2 soon again since they are somewhat short, also there's the two London Expansion Packs don't forget those.

You seem like a completionist. Check our 100% walkthrough on YouTube. Although "100%" is not exactly possible without save states in GTA1. DosBox have broken save states though and you might have weird issues in the gameplay, so it's recommended to play inside Windows XP VM.

Yes, train have designated stops - you can enter the train there. Afterwards you should be able to hijack it using CTRL+Enter.

Thank you!
2 more question...
i wanna have FUN with this game till i get to London 1969. When will your 1969 playlist be done? And do you reccomend for gta 1 i do just missions or do EVERYTHING in your playlist i.e multipliers, pager messages, etc

GTACartel.com

Around 2 weeks, then London 1961. Multipliers are worth it, collect them as quickly as possible as you will finish the chapter faster and that was the intended way of playing the game. If you want to see everything, play with save states or play multiple times each chapter to finish everything. Also, sometimes finishing all Kill Frenzies is enough to finish chapter, sometimes they unlock more multipliers so the rest of the chapter is easier, etc. It depends on the chapter. There's no need to "collect" every pager message or info message - this is only for completionists sake. Just review each chapter's playlist and decide what is important for you. Note that London 1961 is famously difficult though.

now i beat chapter 2 and i see a new city called San Andreas. Should i print a map before playing like i did lc?

Yes. You need a map to play GTA 1. It originally came with the paper maps and you are expected to use one for navigation. Also, the difficulty will rise in San Andreas.
