Grand Theft Auto IV Chain Game Round 15

The Grand Theft Auto IV Chain Game is a community based relay game where players work as a team, each taking it in turn to contribute progress towards the goal for each round. In this round we're completing the PC Version of Grand Theft Auto IV "from Zero to Hero", starting at the very beginning and playing until we've achieved 100% completion.

We welcome both new and existing players to the game, including those who just want to take the one turn and those who wish to become regulars and participate over several rounds. If you're new, take a look at the "Quick Start Guide" below which will guide you on the basic rules and practices of the game. Once you understand how it works, you're free to jump in and participate, but it's strongly advised you read the full set of rules later on to avoid causing disruption to the progress of the round.

Quick Start Guide

This Quick Start Guide is designed to familiarise you with the rules of the Chain Game so that you can get right into the action and take your first turn!

Take a Turn
Get started by making a post in this thread stating your intention to take a turn if there is no current turn in progress. A simple "I'll take a turn" will be enough, but you're free to be creative as long as your intention is clear.

If you've already taken a turn earlier in the round, you may only take another turn if there has been either two further valid turns completed or an uninterrupted four hour period has passed since the completion of your latest turn.

Download the Save File
Download the save file from the last completed turn post in this thread.

You will need to install XLiveLess to load the save file if using Version 1.0.8.0 or earlier, and may need to downgrade the save file on GTASnP.com if using Version 1.2.0.32.

Make Progress
You have three hours to complete your turn, during which you may complete up to one story mission, up to one random encounter, and as many side activities as you wish.

You are not allowed to get busted, wasted, or fail any mission or side activity that contributes to the "Missions Failed" statistic. If this happens, you must restart your turn, load a save file made earlier in your turn, or forfeit.

You are also not allowed to use any cheats, scripts, trainers or modifications that change game content or affect the save file.

Turns that do not follow the rules will be invalidated, discarding any progress made.

Save and Upload
Complete your turn by saving the game and uploading the save file on GTASnP.com. You may use another upload service if you choose, but it must allow free download access without the need for registration.

Edit Your Post
Edit the post you made to take the turn and describe what you completed. You must include detailed information on any missions and side activities completed, the completion percentage and a link to the save file. All required information can be found in the rules, but includes any time or score achieved and progress towards side activity goals. We recommend using the Posting Format found below or on the GTASnP.com page for your save file.

Posting Format

Completed turns must include information on what has been completed during the turn, the current completion percentage, and a download link to the save file. It is recommended that you use the following template in your post, but feel free to be creative and make your post look fancy with cool fonts and colours provided it remains readable:

Mission: Write the name of any mission you completed, such as "It's Your Call". We also recommend you note the names of any side activities you complete, such as "Bowling". Please try and use the English mission name where possible to help us out for the lists, even if you play the game in a different language.

Link: Post the URL to where your save file can be downloaded.

Completion: Note the current completion percentage, which can be found in the stats menu or on GTASnP.com.

Notes: Use this field to note where any pigeons you exterminated were, the time or score you achieved in a mission, if you filled up on armor or any other information that may be useful. If you have nothing to note, you may leave this section out.

The Rules

The rules are designed to ensure that the game remains fair and enjoyable, and should be read through and understood by all players to avoid causing disruption to the progress of the round.
 

General Rules

Game Version
You will need to own a version of Grand Theft Auto IV on PC in order to participate, but will need to install XLiveLess to load the save file if using Version 1.0.8.0 or earlier, and may need to downgrade the save file on GTASnP.com if using Version 1.2.0.32.

All members of our community should be kind, supportive and respectful to each other. Any form of discrimination will not be tolerated.

Taking a Turn

Get started by making a post in this thread stating your intention to take a turn if there is no current turn in progress. A simple "I'll take a turn" will be enough, but you're free to be creative as long as your intention is clear. If multiple players make a post at the same time, the player whose post appears first is the one who takes the turn.

You are not allowed to reserve turns. Do not make a post when another turn is in progress, and do not contact other players asking for them to either take or not take turns in a way that may benefit you.

Wait Rules
If you have already taken a turn in the round, you must wait for one of the following criteria to be met before you take another. Note that forfeited and invalid turns do not count towards the Wait Rules.

Two Turns: You may take a turn after two or more consecutive turns are completed by other players, since the completion of your previous turn.

Four Hours: You may take a turn after a four hour period passes with no turns being taken, at any time since the completion of your previous turn. Make a note in your turn post if this is the case.

Three Hour Time Limit
You have three hours to complete your turn, which is counted from the time you submitted your post until the time you edited in the completed save file.

Forfeiting
You can forfeit your turn by editing your post and mentioning your intention, but this will count as an invalid turn.
 

Downloading the Save File

Download the save file from the last completed turn and place it in the save file directory on your system. If you feel that the link to the save file is suspicious, let us know.

You will need to install XLiveLess to load the save file if using Version 1.0.8.0 or earlier, and may need to downgrade the save file on GTASnP.com if using Version 1.2.0.32.
 

Making Progress

You have three hours to complete your turn, during which you may complete up to one story mission, up to one random encounter, and as many other side activities as you wish. That's plenty of time to sit back, relax, and have some fun!

Important Information
No Busts or Wastes: You are not allowed to get busted or wasted during your turn.

No Failure: You are not allowed to fail any mission or activity that contributes towards the "Missions Failed" statistic during your turn.

The only exception is for the collection of special vehicles that require failure, but you must only fail as many times as is necessary.

No Cheats, Scripts and Trainers: You are not allowed to use cheats, scripts or trainers during your turn.

Use of Modifications: We strongly recommend that you use an unmodified installation of the game when participating, but you may use any modifications that do not change game content or affect the save file, such as XLiveLess which is required to load the save file if using Version 1.0.8.0.

If you aren't sure whether a modification you want to use changes game content or affects the save file, do not assume and instead ask us first.

Missions
Story Missions: You may only complete one story mission during your turn. If the mission presents you with a choice to make, you are free to make whichever choice you wish. If you complete "No. 1" or a mission that presents the player with an achieved time or score, it must be mentioned in your post.

Random Encounters: You may only complete one random encounter during your turn.

Exceptions: The following missions and encounters do not require much effort from the player or are phone activated and unavoidable and so are considered exceptions to the one mission rule. You may complete as many of them as you wish during your turn:

First Part Missions

• "Final Interview..." (First Part Only)
• "The Holland Play..." (First Part Only)
• "I'll Take Her..." (First Part Only)
• "Pest Control..." (First Part Only)

Low Effort Missions

• "Brian’s First Encounter"

• "Mr and Mrs Bellic"

Phone Activated Missions

• "Bleed Out"
• "Russian Revolution"
• "Roman's Sorrow"
• "Jeff's Second Encounter"
• "Hostile Negotiation"

• "Paper Trail"
• "Weekend at Florian's"
• "Undertaker"
• "...Pest Control"
• "That Special Someone"

You are not allowed to complete either "A Revenger's Tragedy" or "Out of Commission" despite being 'Phone Activated Missions' if either "If the Price is Right" or "A Dish Served Cold" has been completed during the same turn.

Side Activities
Assassinations: You may complete as many assassinations as you wish during your turn.

Bowling, Darts, Pool and QUB3D: You may complete as many of these activities as you wish during your turn, but must mention whether the activity was won and the score achieved where applicable.

Car Thefts and Exotic Exports: You may deliver as many of Brucie's Exotic Exports and Stevie's Car Thefts as you wish during your turn, but must note which vehicles you delivered.

Dating and Friend Activities: You may date girlfriends and hang out with friends as often as you wish during your turn, but must mention when you have completed one and list the activities completed, and who won each competitive activity and the final score where applicable.

Deliveries and Jobs: You may complete as many of Little Jacob's Drug Deliveres and Roman's Taxi Missions as you wish during your turn, but must mention any completed activities or jobs, using the names provided in the 100% Checklist.

Note that Roman's Taxi Missions are only available between the story missions "Jamaican Heat" and "Roman's Sorrow".

Flying Rats and Stunt Jumps: You may complete as many Flying Rat exterminations and Stunt Jumps as you wish during your turn, but must note the location of those completed.

Most Wanted and Recent Crimes: You may complete as many Most Wanted Targets or Recent Crimes as you wish during your turn, but must note those completed.

Races: You may complete as many of Brucie's Races as you wish during your turn, but must note the time achieved and, if re-completing, should avoid saving after failed attempts to beat the record.

Gameplay Methods
The Chain Game is designed to be open and allow players to choose their own mission strategies, and pursue additional fun activities such as purchasing weapons, respraying vehicles, installing car bombs or spending some time with the women of Liberty City. You may wish to note in your turn post if you completed any of these activities.
 

Save and Upload

Complete your turn by saving the game. You should consider filling up on Armor before posting your turn for the convenience of the next player.

After saving, upload the save file on GTASnP.com. You may use another upload service if you choose, but it must allow free download access without the need for registration.
 

Edit Your Post

Edit the post you made to take the turn and describe what you completed. You must include detailed information on any missions and side activities completed, the completion percentage and a link to the save file. All required information can be found in the rules, but includes any time or score achieved and progress towards side activity goals. Late Edit: If you wish to edit a completed turn post to add more information, you must specify the time of the original edit and your time zone so it can be proven the turn was completed within the time limit.
 

Violation of The Rules

Any turn that does not follow the rules will be invalidated, discarding any progress made, and players repeatedly violating the rules may receive a temporary or permanent suspension from all aspects of the Chain Game. You can help ensure the game runs smoothly by letting us know if you spot a rule violation.

I restarted the mission so many times because I really wanted the Ruiner with white rims. Until I finally realized that it spawned almost every time with the white rims, but I thought it was the standard gray. I somehow remembered them being whiter.
