@Malibu Club , @Superdays , at this point we cant tell from which time those changes added to the code , because we don't have and sort of history files , all what we got is  the source-code :starekek:

I agree with you, I'm just speculating.

One of the crimes is riding a bike without a helmet and there are no bikes in gta3. So they were experimenting with the idea for Gta V. Unless these are leftovers from Gta San Andreas.

The list isn't tied to GTA3. It was inherited from GTA3 to V. The 'riding a bike without helmet' crime was present in the GTAIV executable before GTAV. It could have been a leftover from SA, for all we know. I'll have to check GTA SA later on.

R* changed the crime system's format in RDR2, which is what VI will be based on, so those crimes listed may not carry over as-is.

@Tez2 that's true , i was surprised when i saw a lot of files from "render-ware" days still carrying ,
it make sense no one will start a new (game or engine) from scratch .

Remember people, Mafia 1 had police and tickets for running red lights and speeding. In addition you also had fuel and had to fill it up.

I have said this MANY times on this board but Mafia 1 with its wheel, pedals, manuel shifting, clutch and force feedback in addition to the above was awesome when it comes to the driving experience. An it appears far ahead of its time.

is mafia running on rage engine 🤔 ?

I feel like getting a wanted level for stuff like speeding, running red lights and carrying a gun is a bit too much,it would fit well in Mafia games which had this type of realism from the start, but not in GTA which always gave us more freedom.

If this is added it will also come alongside more realistic NPC driving and speed limits I imagine. The NPCs generally drive so slowly in most GTAs that this is unimaginable but I think if they drove more realistically, this would be a fun feature. It would definitely add higher stakes to high speed driving which is good.

I wonder if they would include these sorts of crimes in some sort of 'hard' mode that toggles the game to have more realistic laws for the players who want that sort of realism. Also this might be something they are waiting to implement with RP servers as well.

I wouldn't want to have to lose the police every time just because I ran a red light, it's just annoying to have to do that, and we all know that Rockstar would never add something like that.

Nor is it optional.

I'm talking about the discussion as a whole, not just the codes found in the files.

If all these things are optional, so they can be enabled or disabled with a simple check in the game settings, then why not — but it still feels strange to want to obey speed limits or not run a red light in a GTA... Maybe the only thing I find more acceptable is having to refuel, but it should never happen that a car we steal has, for example, less than a quarter of a tank.
