Those sound insane for a GTA game. Getting the police on you just for driving around freely would kill so much of the sandbox aspect everyone loves about these games. That's too much realism.

maybe we will see few of them in the final product

I hope not, it'd make the game so cumbersome to play. Imagine driving to a mission and you keep getting wanted levels just because a random police NPC standing behind a tree saw you trying to play the game like you could in all of the other games.

good point my friend

You could have stuff like this active for a specific mission, like you're tasked with driving some very hot cargo from one side of town to the next and you need to obey the letter of the law.  I couldn't see restrictions like this in the open world.

good point , i would like to see few missions with this elements

Paper Mario

if embedded into some specific missions to make them make more sense, then sure, i wouldn't mind. probably would like it even better, who knows. but yeah, keep it out of normal free-roam. going as fast as you want, over the sidewalk etc, is how it always has and should be, without police interference. it's when you hurt an npc, police could be alerted. that's the risk of doing so. but not reckless driving man. that sh*t supposed to be fun, not cumbersome.

I’m calling baloney. Riding a bike without a helmet is a crime? Baloney! Florida law doesn’t require motorcyclists to wear a helmet in the first place. Baloney.

⭐⭐⭐ for driving without a helmet will be nice :kekw:

It would be cool if there was an optional simulation mode that enables small crimes like this, and other details like a gas meter that would be annoying if we cant turn it off in the open world. But it should not be apart of the main game, outside of some missions and the mode I mentioned.

Despite how much I regularly sh*t on the idea of simulated gas physics and what's demonstrated here, it truly would be like a fun optional thing to try every now and then. Optional difficulty settings that change gameplay would make people less likely to be sick of VI 10-15 years down the road like people are now with V.

With Rockstar buying FiveM, it definitely should be a part of an RP online mode for gta 6.

i dont think so , because this code in the core engine and not game level ,
if it a PR thing i think its gonna be in game/gameplay level .

I agree and disagree at the same time.

Having these new rules be mandatory in the singleplayer mode would absolutely alienate a sh*t-ton of people and would most likely be detrimental to the overall reputation of the game imo.

But if they make it a toggleable setting where players can choose full on realism and immersion vs a more traditional experience then I think it would be absolutely amazing.

And Rockstar working on features like this wouldn't surprise me that much really, if they introduce official RP servers in GTA Online 2 then features like these only make sense and Rockstar being Rockstar obviously want to go all in with this stuff.

i agree , something like "game-mode" in setting will be great .

I just wonder how they'll implement this, hopefully the devs will decide to do this in a non-irritating way....

They are testing systems to determine if they can integrate with existing missions and design choices. In GTA V, there are no police officers patrolling during single-player mode, which is seen as a deliberate design choice. Perhaps the developers aim to address this gap by introducing minor crimes for NPCs? It’s likely that GTA VI will utilize NPC interactions beyond just criminal activities, potentially taking inspiration from Watch Dogs 2 but on a larger scale.

this always bothered me in recent GTA games. Other NPCs barely or do no crimes at all. I know there's some, but it's little to none. In trailer 2, it was exciting to see Jason drive by some people being held up by police and whatnot. And Lucia was doing community work, but I hope we can see other NPC groups here and there having to do similar tasks. I just want to see more crimes be done by other people. I don't think I ever really seen much grand theft auto from other NPCs, lol. It'd be fun if they also just randomly tried to rob and hijack you. It was neat to see cops arrest and take away people, but it was often something you'd have to trigger yourself. like, get a ped to chase and hit you while near a cop. i rarely found a scene naturally where cops where going after someone. I remember more of that happening in Vice City on the PS2. And you get a good citizen bonus for stopping them

Personally, I think that if all these new crimes are optional—meaning we can decide whether to have them in the gameplay experience or not—then I’m fine with it, as others have already said. But maybe in the long run it could get annoying to have them enabled: being wanted by the police every time just for running a red light, or because an NPC sees us carrying weapons openly, or for driving on the sidewalk, going the wrong way, speeding, or not waiting for Jason or Lucia to put on a helmet when getting on a motorcycle… I don’t know how fun it would really be to become wanted for reasons like these. To me, it feels more like a limitation on the fun (and I think most people would agree) rather than something that makes the game more immersive or realistic, adding an extra layer of challenge to the gameplay and therefore fun in that sense for those who prefer a higher level of difficulty.

I'd assume it was tied to certain tasks; if you are transporting stolen goods or conterfeit money for a business you own for example, you would be required to obey any road laws to avoid a traffic stop leading to its discovery.

Or its tied into the social media aspect perhaps; an NPC films you speeding through traffic with no helmet and either sends it to the police or posts it on a local social page.

Exactly this. Some things that add some more realism or simulation are more appealing to me as I get older. Because in the absence of new GTA's I've got more into games where resources are a thing. Going back to GTA and it really feels you're playing in a kind of shallow world. But optional of course.

I'm sure there are some options I might think I want but in practice it might not be a good idea. But fuel for me is one I'd like. Most cars would have a bit of fuel but I'd like to know if I'm getting a huge chase across the map, eventually, I might run out of fuel and I need to be planning getting another vehicle. It forces your hand. It's like big blind in poker. Also, you could get creative. For some missions you can fill up your tank. And a fully tank means bigger explosion. You can plan with with that idea.

Getting police attention for breaking lights, speeding etc, would be interesting if it's just an easy 1 star offence, unless you keep committing offences and it accumulates. If there was a simulation mode, I'd like that mission rewards were higher.

So, for example. Forza Horizon: I play with no assists. But the rewards are much higher. So, more risk, more reward. Of course, I wouldn't want it forced on everyone.

TLDR: But yeah, Id' support more crimes to be penalised by, so long as there's more rewards to being a more skilled player. And make it optional.

Those aren't new crimes. They are leftovers Rockstar prototyped with all the way back to GTA3. They're far more likely to remain unused in VI.

During gta3, I gave players a 1-star wanted level for running red lights. This was not popular with the team. I quickly removed it.

One of the crimes is riding a bike without a helmet and there are no bikes in gta3. So they were experimenting with the idea for Gta V. Unless these are leftovers from Gta San Andreas.

Vice City was the first GTA to have 2 wheeled vehicles. It could be leftovers from that.
