Red Dead Redemption 2 Current-Gen (+GTAIV, but unlikely) - Possible current gen ports?

Inspired by this wonderful news I decided to fully clear out my saves on PC in GTA IV Complete Edition. Installed Fusion Fix, enabled Console Gamma and set everything to the max. Its really suprising how well this game looks up to this day:

(Wanted to show how impressive the game looks and ended up with sh*t because it comes out the film grain looks like sh*t on screenshots (while playing its just subtly noticeable) also film grain doesnt like compression on Steam and everything ends up extra blurry... you just have to trust me the game is looking really crisp when you are actually playing it)

 

 

Also this game is so much ahead of everything in terms of immersion and detail (obviously not the graphical detail) - it's ahead of every other game that released to this day (only exception are some small indie games and RDR 2), even its successor GTA V - but it shouldnt really be amazing, it should be sadenning how a game from 2008 is more innovative than AAA games released by literally everyone else nowadays. I got mind-blown when I ragdolled and I heard my weapon hit the ground. GTA V was such a downgrade on so many levels its unbelievable.

I know this is wishful thinking, but if GTA IV gets something beyond just a port to modern consoles I hope R* add adaptive triggers to the PS5 version.

 

That would be awesome with GTA IV’s gunplay and driving.

I’m surprised that Rockstar doesn’t work out a licensing deal that allows them to use the music in perpetuity. It seems to be one of the first reactions and concerns when they rerelease an older game. 
 

As for the veracity of the leak, Tez posts here. I’m sure they’ll verify if it was actually them or not (I’ve seen more than a few instances where people steal their identity or attribute leaks to them that they later debunk).

i really hope this happens. gta 4 is easily my second favorite video game after rdr2. it would be even better if it came with multiplayer. i would love to play old school gta 4 mp again. i miss it so much. but yea i know it probably wont happen. hopefully this will get new kids to play this gem of a game. gta 4 deserves so much more love.

I really do hope it's an honest remaster with the game given that extra polish it needs, rather than just an upscale.

I am sure that we will get a IV port this year, now that VI got delayed to next year, however i doubt it actually will be like a remaster. But this fall would be a perfect time to release something like this to shorten the wait for VI

If there is a version for Switch 2 (last nail to buy it), with 1080/1440p (4k?) - 60 fps I would buy it day 1 just like the PC version of RDR1 if it receives the same treatment only fixing the fps drops, improving the textures and being a totally stable gameplay, asking for the songs I see it as unlikely but hopefully and if they are available.

Really no clue, I would assume they give it a bit more time, so maybe rather Sep. or Oct.. But if we see an early GTA Online DLC like in 2023, i think August may be what we can hope for.

If it's true that a GTA IV port is coming, then it should be released soon. If it's been planned for a year, I can't imagine it would have been released in September or October, since that was the target release date for GTA VI. So GTA IV would have to be planned for at least July or August this year.

Tez i am playing through gta iv atm so i wanted to ask : is the remaster closer to the definitive edition or rdr ? Personally I loved the definitive editions, they really modernized the games.

It's not a remaster. I don't know which platforms are targeted, or which version it will be based off, or which studio is handling this port. All I know is that it entered development last year. I don't have anything more to present. So you can take this with as much of a grain of salt as you like.

GTA IV is my favorite GTA I sincerely hope it's true and we can play it this year! I'm a PlayStation player so I guess it will be released on PS5? I'll buy it day one.

yes a next gen port is much better then 640p ps3 version which also has bad framerates at times .
