Isn't it being made by Remedy but only financed by Rockstar? That's what I've heard and read all the time

I'm not quite sure ... last I heard about it I read something that R* is indeed involved in its development and they are definitely 100% responsible for all the marketing for the Max Payne 1&2 Remake. The marketing for it is completely on Rockstars side. I'm not 100% sure about the development. I think they might assist but not actively help developing it? I don't assume it runs on RAGE either so ... either way R* better has everyone on GTA VI.

Yeah Rockstar will need to announce Max Payne Remakes (my bet is later this year), i mean they are announced but you know i mean trailer, because as we know, they are handling marketing stuff according to Remedy

They don't have to market them months away. They may end up doing it a month away from release, at best.

This clip instantly gives me happy vibes. So great! I love what Lucia is wearing here and the hairstyle she has in this scene. Might be my default look for here tbh.

Realistic palm trees as well! Look at almost each individual blade of leaves are flowing in the wind

A month before release? Nah, that sounds waaaay too short for a R* published game. I mean this will be an entire new Max Payne game if you will. 1&2 as a single experience and a remake! This is going to be marketed A LOT by R* when the time comes.

Which makes me think... when are we going to see hints of dark sh*t? So far it's mostly all beautiful, parties, driving, having fun and besides some crime we haven't seen the bad side of this story.
Surely it's not all sunshine and lollipops :kekw:

I agree. We need some of those serial killer random event hints 😅

Better to market it when it's done or nearly done than in the middle of the development. I could see three or two months of marketing if it's done by the first half of 2026, as the analysts Remedy cities assume, and R* holds off on releasing till the second half.

Ye but why only market it a month or two? before release? I think it might be a six month marketing campaign BEGINNING shortly after the release of GTA VI ... if it indeed comes out later in 2026? Although they may have the struggle of marketing both GTA Online 2 and the Max Payne 1&2 Remake then?

Max Payne's remakes are unlikely to get some big marketing campaign in todays world. It's great they're happening but they aren't a "big" release with a huge budget behind them. R* will probably lean on their own social media's reach to do a lot of the marketing for them, maybe some trailers at game shows, but extensive real world marketing or digital advertising, I doubt it.

They'll probably release 2027 if I had to guess, I don't think they'll be out next year.

More profits, less marketing costs for executives/investors. Or a shadow drop like the Oblivion Remastered, which worked very well and is also an example for investors that they don't have to fund a year or a half a year of a marketing campaign. Unless your game is GTAVI, they'll throw their wallets at you.

As long as GTA VI gets a proper, several months long marketing campaign with murals and ads going up lots of buildings across the world I'm happy. Marketing campaigns for an upcoming R* game are always special and I wouldn't wanna miss them. I'd be very sad and upset if they didn't have a proper, non-digital marketing campaign for GTA VI.

This I doubt my self.

Oblivion's remaster was leaked heavily for months prior, it was the worst shadow drop of all time lol, so it was widely expected.

It's also Oblivion, a legendary, generation defining RPG.

If they do and wait for an MP3 port, then that's a Definitive Edition right there.

This recent trend to shadowdrop huge games on a random day is not something I like at all if I'm honest. Isn't anticipation of an upcoming release one of the best things in a games' marketing cycle? For me it definitely is.

Have you by chance heard anything about a potential GTA IV "remaster"/port for modern gen consoles?

Rockstar only started marketing VI these last few days, let alone a game to be released after it.

They probably wanna avoid another "Max Gayne" situation. :kekw:

Oh I remember it all too well with the Max Payne 3 X GTAV marketing campaign. Still haunts me to this day with 'em people always bashing about receiving Max Payne 3 news but nothing for GTAV. Max Payne 3 is a masterpiece.

It's why I think MP's remakes will be 2027. Assuming no more delays, and my suspicion (which is partly hopium I'll admit) that the PC release won't be miles behind then 2026 will probably be the year of GTA VI / GTAO2. Then Max Payne's remakes and any further remaster/ports (IV, RDR2 60fps on console etc) to be done after.

Even if VI gets delayed again, its final release date would be October 27/30 2026, so 2027 would be clear for Max Payne.

Forumers

Here's how I expect things to pan out ...

scenario 1 (GTA VI releases on time and mustn't be delayed a 2nd time):

May 26, 2026: Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

October 27, 2026: Grand Theft Auto Online 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

December 2026 OR March 2027: Grand Theft Auto VI for the PC (Steam)

scenario 2 (GTA VI must be delayed for a 2nd time):

October 27, 2026: Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

April 27, 2027: Grand Theft Auto Online 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

June OR September 2027: Grand Theft Auto VI for the PC (Steam)

And I don't think that VI will get delayed again, once Rockstar gives us a exact release date they "usually" stick to it.

Is it impossible for it to be delayed for another 5 months? Of course not... but I don't see it happening.

Just now, GRANDHEIST said:

do you really reckon those will happen?

maybe PS6 ports

They're both inevitable it's just a matter of when. IV is in a similar situation to RDR1 in that on console the only modern hardware it's playable on locally is Xbox, which is something they'l 100% want to fix the question is if they'll put a bit of effort into it with some visual touch ups - I suspect they will my self. Maybe that old Liberty City remake we know they worked on at some point will get dug up.

And RDR2 at some point will surely get a 60fps mode on console, we know the PS5 can do it with stock PS4 settings through a modded PS5 so you'd think it'd happen one day. It's just, like the IV port, a matter of when IMO.

Oh and god damn, I am confident that both the PC version and inevitable PS6/next Xbox version of GTA VI will feature pathtracing.

PC yes, next-gen console probably not. I'd be surprised if pathtracing will be much of a thing on those, but then again I was surprised devs adopted RT so early cause I thought they wouldn't.

Forumers

Hm, I'd imagine the next-gen systems would be well capable of running pathtracing. Either way once GTA VI comes to the PC I have to invest in a new GPU ... still running the GTX 1080 and starting to be locked out of most recent releases because they require a RTX GPU. :/ Well, my PS5 is ready for GTA VI.
