Bring the left nav bar back?

I remember it being removed, what seems like years ago, with some reason involving how the site apears on iOS? Did you all just give up? This site is horrible to navigate now, and keeps me away because it's a pain to jump around.

But yeh the sidebar was very very handy. I liked it a lot and, while I got used to going back to the main page and then going from there, I'd welcome its return
