I'm more interested in how long this 'soon' will last.

Don’t expect any more information until next year. It’s over for 2025.

Was anyone genuinely surprised by this delay? I've been saying it'll be delayed since it was announced. We go through this every single time; "Perhaps this time, things will be different". It never is.

On a more positive note, I'm actually happy it's delayed. I wanted this game to release either just before summer, or September, at the tail end of it. Spending the summer of 2013 hyped and enjoying all the trailers for GTA V up to release was phenomenal. And I always prefer games release at a time of the year that matches the games setting. So exploring Vice City in late May and early June is f*cking perfect! Here's hoping it isn't delayed again... 🫠

Strauss’ little media blitz last month fooled me, which I guess is on me.

Bro...people need to have more sh*t going in their lifes, that's behavior of spoiled people. Being obesessed with whatever might be, is bad for you.

Ah that's sad news but it was a possibility with keeping this quiet, well time to complete a few hundred more games till then.

But more thought it gets delayed to Fall 2026 but it is May.

They need to please the community that was already furious with the silence, and now must be even more disappointed lol.

You can be sure that we will have news in a maximum of 1 month.

Some other things they could say:

  • Within the year
  • At some point in time
  • In the near future
  • At a later date
  • Within the next decade
  • By this time next century
  • In 2000 generations
  • The second coming of Christ
  • Whatever happened there...

As much as I dislike the vagueness of "soon", I also hope they don't go back to the "coming weeks and months" comment that they would throw around in the GTA V PC days (I'm getting 'Nam flashbacks to its three delays):sadkek:

I can't lie, I'm pretty upset by this news. I get why it needs to happen, and I would rather wait to get a better product, but it doesn't change the fact that this stings. I just hope, given how long its taken for them to develop this game, that they haven't been in some sort of development hell, constantly having to restart with new plans. It certainly seems to me to be taking long enough that this could have happened.

Around April 2024 Rockstar had everyone who worked from home to come back into the office full-time to finish the game and avoid further leaks

Yeah, but this doesn't mean that they weren't working hard at home, no need for anyone to press the emergency button for this reason.

Honestly, i can see trailer 2 releasing in December, much like the first trailer did. gotte remind people that gta 6 is coming next year so they won't waste all their money on other crap during the holidays and won't be able to get gta 6, lol

Im honestly scared for the game to come out this late when I see how fast things are changing politically speaking, we might see the current US administration make stupid demands to Rockstar, even threatening them of sanctions if they don’t comply on some subjects

I understand pretty much all reactions to this news, from anger to sadness to not caring all that much.

I’m not surprised, and I anticipated the delay, but it still stings. I even got a brief deja vu of the exact same emotion I felt when GTA V got delayed.

Same. This feels like January 2013 all over again. I remember coming home from school that day and finding out V wasn't coming out until September. Was so unbelievably angry. All I wanted was to play the damn game. Cut to where we are now and I'm sick of it and want no more V content ever again. Ah, good times they were. :sadkek:

No way... they need more crunch to get the job done.

People are way too lax and entitled these days with all the work from home entitlements. They're probably working slowly in their pyjamas at home, instead of just locking them in the office for extended hours until they hurry up and finish it. Dan Houser might have cracked the whip if he was still there.

Your comment is either a joke or just entitled - and since I’m entitled too, I’m going to agree with it. These people are getting paid astronomical salaries that should more than compensate for staying at work longer, especially considering that overtime is often paid additionally.

A friend of mine in the U.S. works as a plumber. Sometimes he gets called in the middle of the night for emergencies and ends up working four hours more than scheduled. Nobody cries about his situation, and he doesn’t complain either - because he gets paid more than a lot of highly educated professionals.

Game devs are also treated like sacred cows nowadays. Every time there are layoffs at big studios, people act like it’s a national tragedy. Meanwhile, layoffs happen every single day in every industry - but somehow, it’s only game devs who deserve collective mourning. Let’s be real: devs aren’t special, and we need to stop acting like they are. Got a bad boss or a crappy job? Welcome to the club - most people are dealing with the same stuff and just have to cope.

What really makes this special treatment even more frustrating is that a lot of devs work from home. Like… what even is this world we live in?

They don’t care. They know people will buy it in droves regardless even if it was getting shadow dropped.

Having the banner still say 2025 is so unprofessional for a company on Rockstar’s caliber lol I don’t understand why they  aren’t changing the number at least on the artwork.

Yeah this is honestly kind of shocking to me. I worked in marketing and that kind of lack of brand coaction in updating marketing materials would get me screamed at, and the products I worked with are a lot less valuable than GTA I’ll tell you that.

yeah this is just perplexing

VitoCorleone1992

Well, on the birght side, at least since we are going to get more DLC's for GTA Online, they might a restaurant/coffee shop front bussiness, where i can put some pool and pinball machines and be able to make reunions in the back room and practice my "tommy vercetti?! inevatoutheywoullehimout!" in preparation for GTA VI. :cringekek:

Also @Crateman at least has the exact day where he can call sick to his boss in order to avoid to go work that day. :kekw:
