gtasnp could not determine game type

Hi

 

ive been looking forward to 100% my gta sa game and i cant seem to find the missing snapshot so i tried to go to gtasnp.com and select my save file and it gives me an error saying "could not determine game type" 

does anyone know why it gives me this error?

Could it be that your game is modded? Also you gotta give more information dude, is your game the definitive edition? The original?

The game has been modded with fastman92's limit adjuster, which changes the structure of some blocks in the save files. Like with most mods, GTASNP.com isn't setup to handle these changes.

 

However, I was able to check the pickups block and find your missing snapshot. It should be this one in San Fierro.

I heard you help people, and I really need your help uploading a GTA SA DE save file to the GTASNP website. I'm on a PS4 console, which probably explains why it isn't working. It says my file is too big; the file I'm using is 3MB, but it needs to be 2MB to work. Please help make it smaller so it will work. Here's my file. Please keep me updated within this week.

PS4 save files are encrypted. Even if I changed the size limit on the site to allow them, it wouldn't be able to read any data from it.

I get that PS4 save files are encrypted, but could you try reducing the size regardless? Even if GTASNP can't read the data, it's worth a shot just to see how the site handles it. Maybe there's a workaround or future support. Appreciate any help you can give!

Sorry, but that's not how data encryption works. The data is scrambled and only the PS4 can unscramble it. I would not know what is safe to remove from it.

The 2 MB limit is the limit for all uploaded files because GTA4 PC saves are the largest accepted saves at about 1.9 MB. SA DE saves for PC/Mobile are typically in the range of 350-600 KB. PS4 encryption bloats the save files for some reason.

I already know how it would handle it. Even if I could shrink the data and somehow maintain its contents, the site would return the "Could not determine game type." error because the typical save data it looks for is encrypted and unreadable.
