Vice City Project Reborn: game closes automatically right after doing any Street Race

I know it's a long shot and I doubt I'll find any solution, because I made some search and it appears I'm the only one having it but I give it a try.

 

I'm playing the original Vice City on Steam Deck (not the Definitive Edition) with the Project Reborn mod. I made a lot of missions and right now I'm doing the Street Races from the Sunshine Autos.

 

I did the first 2 without problems. Then I guess something happened, because I can't do them anymore: the game closes itself as soon as someone (not necessarily me) arrives at the finish line, of any race (even the 2 I already finished). There are no error messages or error codes.

 

I tested doing another story mission first, or changing car and even clothes. This is a big issue because clearly with this I can't finish the game.

 

Do you have any idea what could be and if there is any way to fix this?

I suggest using re:VC in Steam Deck. Original Vice City has issues on Proton.

 

Download vanilla VC from Steam. Add re:VC top of it. Then try your save without any mods.

Isn't the RE:VC based on the PS2 game? I wonder if my saves would actually work

 

Anyway, thank you a lot for your answer! I need to see where to find RE:VC because I know it's been closed some time ago, no? (like Project Reborn and the other unofficial mods, after all)
