Rant about In-game Text chat removal in Enhanced Version.

I just don't play Enhanced. Problem solved. There's plenty of players in Legacy.

lol I complained (well politely said test chat was valuable and it was disappointing it was gone) and didn’t even get a response!

 

Hopefully more people seeing your post will complain too for the potential of $1m and maybe they’ll be more inclined to restore it a bit sooner!

Its based on a comment found in files that define how the game menu works, but that was 4 months ago, so at this point i'd say don't get your hopes up too much

Well it's still years before GTA6 on PC. We eventually even got E&E. It's not impossible we will get it. But as I said .. since RDRO doesn't have that, and since consoles don't have that .. I think we won't get it, and neither with GTA6.

They've been making changes to text chat restrictions in May and again last month on the Legacy edition. The results of these tests may shape how strict the text chat will be in the Enhanced edition.

 

That and the age verification stuff where text chat will be disabled by default in certain regions until you pass the age verification. Microsoft plans for theirs to go into effect at the start of the new year. So age verification and text chat may arrive with the December update if that's what R* is planning too.

Might this have anything to do with the Chat Control laws that the EU is working on?

No, that is a separate thing and there's no specific actionable legislation for that yet. It's just a proposal that's been submitted to the European Commission, so very early stages, and there'll be a lot of ink yet to be spilled about that one, as EU member-states don't bend as easily as the UK government lmao.

I did that mistake of transferring. I am over $100M in difference in those versions. Seems like no chat in E&E is good thing now.
