I'm still waiting for a more complete report about the whole thing.

I've only done the missions once, and a bunch of the phone jobs. I don't think there are spoilers in this, but have gone full spoiler!

Phone jobs - there are apparently 6 different ones, but I can only find four so far:

1. Destroy the Weapons -

Spoiler

in theory "here's a Dune Buggy to do it with", but anyone with an Oppressor is going to spend two minutes flying around shooting missiles.  This is therefore ridiculously easy, unless you self-impose a limitation "for immersion"

2. Steal the Duster -

Spoiler

a combination of Cayo "Steal the Velum" and a three drop sell mission for a business.  Trivial

3. Deliver the weapons -

Spoiler

an enforced drive in a Ratel to a location, then a three drop sell mission like the Bunker dune buggy one

4. Steal the weapons -

Spoiler

a combination of Cayo "Steal the Velum" and a single cargobob pickup.  Fly back without crashing

Mission

Firstly, a standard B&M - if we own a bunker, why is this new gunrunning activity not integrated with it?  Anyway....

Up and Running -

Spoiler

shooting a plane while riding a bike across country and being pursued by NPCs.  Once the plane has been shot enough to lose enough cargo, you pick it up and deliver it to somewhere inconvenient.

Pros - it's different

Cons - it's not really fun trying to do three things at once - there are solutions, but that kind of kills the point.

Mogul -

Spoiler

fly to a airfield, steal one or more Moguls.  You'll be chased on the way back, so you can either dogfight with your single front facing gun, or try and evade 3 planes equipped with guns and missiles, which slows your arrival time.    If Cluckin Bell vehicle setup had two cars in one place and the NPCs chasing were better equipped, that would be pretty close to his...but in the air, obv.  THEN go on a bombing run, carpet bombing some nearby locations

Pros - er...Mogul HAS weapons.  And chaff

Cons - success feels like more luck than skill.

Intel -

Spoiler

fly a drone round multiple hangars, in stealth, either killing or evading NPCs and other drones.  Then dive to a shipwreck and find some cargo.  I don't know of any mission with as much drone work as that.

Pros - good practice for people that like drones

Cons - no proximity vibration for the shipwreck cargo, so it's a shlep around a big circle and feels like a timesink

Iron Mule -

Spoiler

go to a location, shoot some people, jam some scanners.  Shoot lots or people, vehicles and choppers (there will be a few), until the Iron Mules turn up.  Jam them to make them land, then shoot some more people and steal one.  Fly it back, then optionally go and do three more.

Pros - er....it's in daylight?

Cons - interaction zones for placing jammers seemed oddly positioned, infinite respawns, it's not clear HOW to trigger the Mules, getting four is pointless unless you're doing the next setup with a group.

Ammunition -

Spoiler

fly the Mule to a container ship and either cargobob out the target container, or drop some improvised bombs on the nearby NPCs and then do it.  Optionally go back (or teammates fetch) other containers of things to make finale easier.

Pros - lifting stuff around is uncommon, if not actually original.  Improvised bombs are a bit of a new idea.  Hook camera is a good idea

Cons - getting shot out of the chopper without destroying it led to a tricky respawn situation, but that's probably a little niche!

Titan Job -

Spoiler

there are a few options.  Have Oscar fly while you gun, fly another plane alongside Oscar, or try and shoot down a TItan from an Insurgent.  First option seems most sensible for solo play.  Titan takes a lot of shooting down, and you will be under heavy fire the whole time.  Then you need to go to the downed Titan, repair it (under fire), reload it with Ammo (under fire) then take off and use it to destroy two MOCs, one Kostatka, and a bunch of tanks etc on a moving train.

Pros - the nature of the heavy fire has some imagination about it, actiing as gunner gives you 360 view, so anything CAN be shot down.  Oscar is a decent pilot, you don't get frustratiingly far away very much.  Repair mechanic is (I think) new.  Playing in hard mode will pay better.

Cons - the Titan takes A LOT of shooting down, the ammo reload animation is really bad, the repair interaction area felt small (took ages to find the right spot), and shooting sideways out of a plane feels like a perverse way of making it difficult.

Overall - personally, I didn't really enjoy it.  Too much of the time I was doing something I don't enjoy (drones, shooting while driving, swimming, flying with limited defences), but that doesn't mean it's bad content, just that I have skill issues!  I don't think it pays very well (allowing for people completing it a lot quicker than I could), the first time bonus is less than Cluckin Bell.

And that's the comparator - last year's March release.  Is this better?  I don't think so.  Is it more imaginative? It has moments, but no more than CB had.  Does it pay as well?  Absolutely not - it will take longer to get the same amount of money.  Is it fun?  I think it's less universally appealing.

Yeah I just saw a video, the Titan is needlessly tanky and whatever is chasing you doesn't seem that threatening.

100% cooperation, I already see the backup Insurgent Pick-Up Custom covering the one loading the immense shells into the plane.

It seems there is an enemy Barrage during the loading process, that's a good negative for me already.

The Grunt 281

Actually, there is an enemy Insurgent Pick-Up Custom during one mission but the good news (sort of) is that it has a minigun instead.

Bad because while unarmored aircrafts aren't difficult to take down with it, it's worse than the stock gun which would have been a noteworthly threat.

FoxSasha

I got the duster mission, and the way Oscar worded it on the phone, I assumed not delivering the duster and declining that was the way to go. He even says "Keep it! Enjoy it."  or something to that degree, only to find out, you were supposed to accept that offer and land it for him to take it off your hands to unlock calling it at the hangar.
Unless keeping it was how you unlock the trade price, You have to accept the offer to sell the duster to unlock it at the airbase.

Slightly confusing tbh.

Aragorn71

The first time I landed it for bonus cash.  The second time I tried to "Keep it! ENjoy it" by taking it to my Zancudo hangar, which ignored me entirely.

Where I'm supposed to "keep it" remains a mystery.

But then I'm stealing $1m planes and delivering weapons for 20k instead of running my ACTUAL weapons bunker from many hundreds of thousands of dollars.....so mysteries everywhere

If you're 1- or 2-up in the second Mogul during The Titan Job and crash & die, you'll respawn in 2 separate Buzzards (missiles disabled). These butcher the 250D way faster than the mogul can so that might be a viable strategy.

Perhaps the Bunker Gunrunning buyers were Eberhard all along.

The "Helldivers Style" button pressing was first used in Attack on Cayo Perico, I believe.

I just started a tips and tricks thread. Do you want to post this over there too?

Lemoyne outlaw

first off what happened to oscars original actor? i was so excited to hear javier again. but I'm pretty sure they recast him either that or his voice changed a lot in 6 years. i have to say playing these missions made me miss rdr2. and it just shows how outdated this 12 year old game is.

these missions were some of the worst I've played in a while. it's obvious that solo play wasn't factored in much when they made them. some of the missions were okay. but since i mostly play solo. i had some annoying moments. i just hate when they spawn never ending gunmen. they all have ridiculous aimbot and are bullet sponges. like aragorn said above. in the first mission you have to shoot a plane while driving while also getting shot at and having to constantly use snacks and armor to not die. it was super annoying.

the mogul one was okay. it was cool to see a new airstrip on the map. and it wasn't too hard.

the first part of the drone mission was fine. no problems there. but it took too long to find all the cargo underwater. i had 3 and just needed one more. i eventually gave up and just looked it up on youtube.

the iron mule wasn't too bad either. but of course they always have infinite soldiers. it's such a chore to have to keep healing and armoring every couple seconds. i kill one or two guys take cover have to heal then repeat. until i have enough time to plant the jammers. the combat and npcs are so outdated. red dead does it much better. the npcs in red dead online can still be a threat. but they aren't aimbot bullet sponge terminators.

ammunition also sucked playing solo. getting shot at and dodging missiles all while having a super slow helicopter was so crappy. why does rockstar always want to give you super slow crappy vehicles and weak weapons for these missions? it feels like they do it on purpose just to piss of off.

and the titan job is the worst offender. the titan takes a billion bullets to take down. all while having to shoot planes, helicopters and missiles. then when you get on the ground having to repair it while getting shot at. and the loading was a nightmare. and then finally flying the plane and shooting was also a pain. and to top it all off the payment sucked. you do all this work and setups for such a tiny amount.

this mission strand was pretty much crap. it's mostly the same stuff I've been doing since day one. and it has all the problems of a game that came out over a decade ago. we really need gta 6 asap.

To be honest.. every time Oscar spoke, his accent, voice timbre and inflections, as well as his jokes made me think a lot about Cheech and Chong movies.

There were some things I liked about these missions. But unfortunately, I feel there are more things I didn't like about them. It was like often.. great potential, rushed execution. The things I didn't enjoy that come to mind are:

- location of the airfield. Going to ammunation to replenish your armor feels like a road trip. Glad we can call in a heli to shorten it, but still.. it's cumulative too much time. It seems it would take less to change your spawn location to say, the agency, and change sessions, then change spawn location back to the airfield.

- talking about calling your heli.. you're in an airfield but when you request your heli.. it spawns on the road.. not on the airfield! Guess we must avoid all that busy traffic and potential air collisions. The spawn point for your PV / heli feels a bit far away too... good thing the mission proposes vehicles that you can use to take you to your PV..

- many people praised that you could launch the the garnement missions from your phone, do them in free mode, and with your choice of vehicle... all of that seems to have been forgotten and forgone in these new missions.. and it's all part of the same DLC.

- that one contact mission with the ratel that mandates your need to use the ratel and climb up chillad with it.. the ratel lacks so much power you can only do off-roading on the official chilliad trial... and going down.. they forgot to add the more appropriate soundtrack for that: Carole King's "I feel the earth move" with its appropriate "tumbling down" lyric... not my favorite contact mission. Only the cougars barely saves it. WAIT.. the cougars were on the steps in the new missions. Nothing saved this one! I wonder if we can save time by 'bobin (or 'muling') the ratel up chilliad.

- the two missions that took me the longest in my first run were the ammunition / iron mule one followed by  the  finale, shooting the train with the titan.

- the iron mule ammunition mission where you have to put your four collected crates on the trailer to win that award.. you end having to stack boxes two by two and it takes just a little to make them tumble down.. happened to me when I tried to deposit the fourth one.

- those missions where you can pick up more than one item, like the moguls or the iron mules where you have to travel all the way back, get shot (if infinite waves), and go back to the airfield, then restart again... and you can't call in your helis. In particular, for the mogul one, I was so happy that the mission started with a velum and trying it and landing correctly near that new airstrip... (surprised it didn't alert the npc goons to see and hear an approaching aircraft).... but once I delivered the first mogul.. if I wanted the second one... having to travel by car to the same spot.. ARGH! Why couldn't they spawn another air vehicle in the field?

Maybe like said earlier elsewhere in this thread, their goal was for team playing, not solo.

- the office itself is among the saddest I've seen in the game. You have snacks nearby on your desk, a bed to spawn-in .. and that's about it. No weapons closet, no wardrobe.. just he bare necessities.

So it was interesting content, but the missions when doing them solo and collecting everything felt so long that they became a tedious grind including too much time having to travel to and fro to locations. It fails to spark in me a satisfying wish to replay them.

Some of the things I did LIKE:

- Oscar flying you in the mogul and velum, bringing you stuff on the iron mule.

- That a.i. "hold altitude" control of the titan. I got the impression that it's smart enough to keep you from crashing into bridges and other obstacles (maybe I'm wrong, but didn't crash even once).

- the iron mule's lift power

- the new "free" crop duster (even if it can't dust)

- Oscar's voice and accent

- jaws coming by to play with you

- seeing npc upgrade from canis mesa to terminus

- being attacked by npc pyrus and sub missiles

- having to attack a sub

- not having to land the titan on that short mckenzie airstrip  at the end of the finale (that may have been TOUGH)

- and, of course, extra storage space in the hangar

if boosted the reward

I mean, fair enough on not liking the content, but these missions in Hard Mode pay more than the Cluckin Bell Farm raid :p I think the rewards/cash are quite nice and I personally liked the content too, but even if I didn't I don't think a complaint would be cash, not in 2025 GTA Online where there's loads more places to make cash.

That mission pays well only the first time, comparing this DLC with Vincent's, you don't have an expense of 1.4M and the preparations for me are easier than those of V.

Spider-Vice

Fair enough on the initial expense, although the extra hangar space is useful anyway so... More of an issue for those with less cash I guess.

Salty_Yote aka SeaWallTx

Man, these are glitchy, lol

Run thru it 5 times.

I no longer need to grab any extra stuff, it gives it too me every time whether i grab it or not.

But it resets the Fully Stocked reward every time i restart the mission string.

But other than several glitches, its a very fun set of missions. Im enjoying it.

I have tier 1,2,&3 done and all i need, for tier 4, is the 5mil, i have over half so that so far.

Hard mode doesn't seem any harder 🤷

GTA Hurricane

Flying airplanes isn't my thing, so I'll pass on the new missions. There are plenty of other good ways to make money these days in GTAO.

I greatly appreciate having the extra hangar storage space though.

Might get mckenzie field with my biker character, looking to expand beyond great chaparral, I only had the hangar on my old account back in 2017 is mckenzie field a better investment?

use it as an add on only. If you intend on doing all  the missions, then sure. But it's not a real aircraft hangar.

If you don't own a hangar there's nothing to be gained except access to the new missions, afaik. It doesn't give you storage unless you own the OG hangar.

I don't understand the complaints. All of the missions are much more varied than we're used to, with multiple moving parts and ways to take on the finale based on what you sourced. I might be wrong, but I've only seen those complaining about it who aren't that great at the game anyway. This is much better than I was expecting, as I thought it would just be some fetch quests that would earn $5k every 48 mins.

Moonshine Wagon Fan

I'm loving life in Grapeseed.  My house is around 600 metres away from the airfield, so I cycle to and back from the airfield getting exercise too!  Anyway, I am doing work for Oscar, with the maximimum I made on a job was $50k.  Easy money.

Yeah, I didn't feel it was that different to the Cluckin' Bell Raid myself, I actually quite enjoyed the missions. I like how in recent content they're actually letting us do things in different ways instead of forcing us to one path - optional pickups and objectives, etc etc.

Am I the only one who doesn't seem to enjoy these missions at all? Maybe it's because flying is not my thing. I don't know.

I enjoyed it in my first playthrough but it's kinda poopoo and pointless for some of them. Always a catch when you get what's asked .... ''oh btw, here's some sh*t for u to do lol, don't die lmao'' ....

Eh, it was ok. I only really liked the drone mission, all the others felt relatively bland.

I liked the repair minigame, I don't think I had seen that in GTAO!

At least the pay is good (even tho I didn't do the optional stuff)
