The game just crashes on my PC, both Story Mode and Online. I've tried changing Graphics settings, but that has no effect. Updated drivers as well, currently at 572.60 for GeForce RTX 3060.

The crash happens right before anything 3D is displayed.

This recent series of NVIDIA drivers is all extremely buggy, I'd actually recommend downgrading to one of the drivers from prior to the RTX 5000 series launch.

Rolled back to 560.94, same crash.

Try nVidia Studio drivers, you might not get the same FPS, but they are supposed to be more stable than the Game-Ready drivers.

If that doesn't help, it could be something entirely different.

I'm on Studio driver 566.36, no issues here.

Same crash with those drivers. I tried running WinDbg analyze on the dump files, and at least I don't see anything related to Nvdia there.

I hear everything but poorly. I don't know if it's a problem with the new audio, but we don't have a menu to adjust the sound like in the legacy.

This is an issue with the E&E on consoles as well. There's no way to change your speaker/headphone configuration, unlike 7th Gen/8th Gen/Legacy.

Music seems normal, but everything else is quiet; I can faintly hear in-game sound effects such as honking a horn, but I can't hear (cutscene) dialogue whatsoever. Tested with both Story Mode and Online. I'm using Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers connected to a Sound BlasterX AE-5 Pure Edition.

EDIT: It's almost as if the game thinks I have a full surround setup. Sounds that are meant to play from the "center speaker" (e.g. dialogue) seem to be what is playing at a low volume (if not silent altogether), regardless of what the in-game sound slider is set to.

EDIT 2:  You have to make sure your current audio device is set to "Stereo" in Windows (I'm on W11, the steps may be slightly different on W10):

  1. Right click the volume icon on the taskbar.
  2. Click "Sound settings".
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and click "More sound settings". This brings you to the legacy Windows sound menu.
  4. Right click your default device (it should be marked with a green check mark) and select "Configure Spea
  5. Make sure to switch to Stereo (I accidentally had my device set to "5.1 Surround").

cant remember

Anybody else having grief with Epic Games?

GTA V Enhanced wasn't added to my library automatically as they said would happen, if I open the store page they charge 30€ (reduced to 15€ for now) for it. If I go to my library and click through "store page" on GTA5 there the Epic Games launcher gives a 404 not found.

EDIT: searched some and seems Epic Games is aware and is working on it:

Thanks for this. I noticed the same issue and was hoping that there'll be more discussion about it. Unfortunately my speakers were already set in Stereo, so this doesn't solve the issue, so I'm hoping the in-game sound settings will get re-added again soon.

Well..seems the game is running  with horrible graphics on my onboard gpu instead of my RTX 2080 Super, which is greyed out in Graphics settings. Also, theres no DirectX option . Its quite odd, since I play lotsa other games and all run perfectly, with raytracing and dlss.  Any hints?

Nevermind I was able to run it with a RX 580 and a FX 8350 (it didn't blow up) and I can confirm the waterfalls are still bugged and not working as the Legacy version (player not being pulled, leaves and sticks remain static). At least the RT seems fixed for haircuts based on YouTube videos

The game will not launch. I cannot believe that it is impossible to run the Expanded with 2 GB of VRAM.

2 GB of VRAM is almost unusable even for Windows these days :/ I know not everyone can spend money on PC parts but that is an extraordinary low amount of memory.

Well minimum requirements did ask for 4 GB VRAM :sadkek:

I'm actually curious though for my friend that has the gimped GTX 1060 3 GB version, I wonder if it will launch for him.

Well, GTA V runs pretty well on my config, and it fits the recommended requirements.

I think it is possible to run GTA V Enhanced with 2 GB of VRAM. Just needs to be launched on the lowest settings possible.

Nobody wants to turn on the ray tracing on a low-end config. But it should at least launch.

Many other people have the same problem, so I think it is a well-known bug. I had the same problem with the GTA V Legacy, so I am not losing my hope.

Verifying the game data is not the solution. Also, the Optimus might be the culprit. But I cannot remember how I fixed the legacy version, and it was a long time ago...
