I agree on some points on why certain elements from Enhanced can't be introduced into Legacy. Maybe cross play at a certain moment then ??

 

The loading speed has already been patched years ago (really took a very long time to actually "start" the game, as in able to play with your character) though first loading into storymode and then go into online still is faster. As far as the graphics, prettier graphics doesn't make a game good or better. Take for example the first Monkey Island game, by today's standards the graphics are obsolete but I can still enjoy it due to its story and interface plus the sword fighting never gets old :D

Launcher might just be getting confused at something else, I've seen people on Windows 10 have the Launcher say it doesn't meet requirements, when it does (Windows 10 is minimum).

oh god, I didn't realise an SSD was "required". I suppose I'll see how required it actually is lol

Installed it on my HDD as I simply didn't have space anywhere else. But hopefully it's only required to achieve the marketing they put out.

Hi, which progress do you refer? is it achievements/unfinished heist setups or items/cars/weapons/properties that got erased? i really wanted to know since i do want to move to enhanced version but i dont wanna lose my items

if someone doesnt have the right pc for a game (legacy) thats over 10 years old thats a them issue not a rockstar issue

I can understand why they removed MSAA (and now I need to deal with a jagged minimap) but did they really remove the text chat from GTA Online?

Or have they hidden it (buttons for text chat are gone from my key bindings too)

It's PC FFS, and I use text chat in all my games. I only use voice chat with people I know in real life, so if you'll please excuse me...

I can't find text chat either. Maybe they will put it back in? They did after all make a point to let us enable or disable it.

You can use DLSS and then enable DLAA (native), it's a better AA method than TAA. TAA is default yeah if you disable all other upscaling method.

 

I'm sad about the removal of text chat... Playing online with randoms will be as bad as on console, no way to communicate.

 

It makes no sense imo, it's PC and we always had a text chat, then years later they added option to disable it if someone didn't want it, but now it's removed alltogether... I even have friends I used text chat with, as I don't really like talking on mic.

I have seen enough of Enhanced. I'm back to Legacy. I actually used MSAA to smooth out my minimap, it's all jagged on Enhanced.

I don't have ray tracing or DLSS hardware either. At least DirectX 12 has better CPU performance and higher FPS in a low-resolution benchmark. (where the limit is CPU performance, with low GPU usage)

 

And remember people: voice chat is AI moderated and gives false positives... This makes the removal of text chat a big deal.

as much as i pass 99% of the time on a lobby alone, this is a huge and weird stepback. having to rely on discord to comunicate through text is subpar, on the very least

I know, same thing. I mostly play with a few friends who are all on discord. Text makes it easier though for those who don't go on voice.

 

But also, it's not even about this game. It's about what happens when we have GTA6? Think of all the people you will no longer become friends with, because of the lack of communication. This can be a very bad thing in the future.

 

Aside from it being boring, no text chat is the #1 reason I never really played RDRO much. What a failure.

Wait..... this is in the patch notes:

  • Added new notifications that appear for remote players when a player is suspended from voice or text chat while in session
  • Players will now see Help Text alerting them how to turn off PC text chat when first sending or receiving a message

So text chat is still in there somewhere...... I need to investigate further!

Has anyone found a workaround for the 120 fps capped framerate? I saw that there was a thread on reddit but the guy was getting told to "go outside", "stop crying" by most comments. It then turned into a war of refresh rate arm chair experts so i guess that's a no go lol

Yes, text chat is still in there, it's just the keybinds that are messed up.

So it will work with a transfer ?

logical, but still, considering it released just now, i'm probably gonna wait with the transfer until i know for sure there are no insane glitches and bugs.

I can imagine some bug that outright removes characters above rank 1000 or something. 

Curious what will come up in the next week.

 

edit: call me overreacting: i actually consider it a brave decision to even download this thing for my gaming rig.

Still, brave people who actually plan to play this GTA 5 version and transfer their character i guess.

For real, the Text Chat is the remaining reason I still play Gta Online, for the interacting with others. I always felt the same about RDRO aswell, it feels so sterile for me not having a public chat to chat with players you come accross.

 

I literally made all my online friends trough gta online text chat. And some say to continue chatting with them thru the phone, but thats DMs and not public chat. It’s also very inconvenient. Using steam or discord on the side is also inconvenient. I want a public chat to chat with friends and randoms. Private chat doesn’t provide that.

Like most new releases and major updates in the gaming world these days, I will wait a while before activating my E&E on PC.  First ones in are always the guinea pigs while those who join later reap the better polish. TBH I was gonna hop right in this morning but the fact I had to take my car to the mechanic helped me possibly dodge a bullet. Not taking a chance with my character with what I'm reading so far. Hope these bugs get fixed really soon because I'm looking forward to playing the enhanced version. I'm on Steam btw.

What did I miss? What's happening with a character? I thought both versions were gonna keep functioning separately once migrated.
