GTA Animation Manager Help

hello guys, i'm trying to learn vice city modding. iv'e been trying to check a model i download and check animations with it, but when i try to load model it says unknown rw version id and when i click in cuts.img for vice city it doesn't show anything. after all anim manager is supposed to work for GTA 3 to San andreas. so explain to me what i have to do

Same for me when I try to load a VC model.

Click Preview, then Load Model... and load a ped model of San Andreas

 

Then click IFP and then Open and load an IFP file (animation file e.g. dancing.ifp)

It's possible to load also a VC ifp file

vc knife.ifp works for me and baseball.ifp

vc ped.ifp and coach.ifp crashes

but loading a vc model it's impossible... and if i made a vc ped skin in 3ds max and i want to watch it cutscenes do i need to use alci's? cause i see there isn't cutscene.img in vice city

No, VC has no cutscene.img, only a cuts.img which contains cutscene data

But the cutscene models are in gta3.img e.g. csdiaz.dff = cutscene diaz and igdiaz.dff = ingame diaz

Best method is modloader, if you get it working

otherwise use alcis to change files of gta3.img or img manager or Game Archive Viewer

Not at all, gtaIII has a cuts.img which contains cutscene data

But the cutscene models are in gta3.img

 modloader works

I can use img manager to extract files of gta3.img

Game Archive Viewer only to open gta3.img

The actor models have no prefix like cs or ig

 

I found

023C: load_special_actor 1 'CAT'
023C: load_special_actor 2 'COLROB'
023C: load_special_actor 3 'MIGUEL'
023C: load_special_actor 4 'PLAYERX'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ01 'CS_BAN'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ02 'BANKD'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ03 'CS_LOOT'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ04 'COLT1'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ05 'CATH'

 

so CAT.dff,  COLROB.dff , MIGUEL.dff, PLAYERX.dff

are used for cutscene of Intro mission

 

and later these, also for Intro mission cutscene

023C: load_special_actor 1 'EIGHT' <--- EIGHT.dff
023C: load_special_actor 2 'OJG_P'
023C: load_special_actor 3 'COL1'
023C: load_special_actor 4 'COL2'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ01 'CS_TRUK'

for mission Give Me Liberty and Luigi's Girls

 

EIGHT.dff as ingame actor

023C: load_special_actor 1 'EIGHT' <--- EIGHT.dff
009A: $eightball = create_actor 21 #SPECIAL01 at 811.875 -942.4375 -100.0

 

and then these for cutscene

023C: load_special_actor 2 'MICKY'
023C: load_special_actor 3 'LUIGI'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ01 'LUDOOR'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ02 'MICKYH'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ03 'EIGHTH'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ04 'LUIGIH'
02F3: load_object #CUTOBJ05 'PLAYERH'

 

It seems to me that the charackter models are used for cutscene as well for ingame

but I can't really see who is who

Only EIGHT.dff for sure in Intro mission cutscene and as ingame actor in mission Give Me Liberty and Luigi's Girls
