How many of the original games have you played?

I've loved GTA from the moment it was first released.  However, because life tends to get in the way I've missed out on playing some of them...  Here's a list of the games I've owned over the years (and what I played them on...)

GTA - PS1
GTA London 1969 - PS1
GTA 2 - PS1
GTA III - PC
I think I had San Andreas too...
GTA V - PS4 and PS5

Has anyone played all of them?  I've always wondered how good GTA IV was, as I only owned PC, PS1, PS2, PS4 and PS5 over the years.

I played all the GTA games in some capacity, V is the only one I never played on my own computers however. Try to look at each game as a separate thing. IV is different from V and the 3D era for sure and may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is my favorite :)

Yes. I've played and beaten every game in the series.

  • GTA 1 - PC (Windows)
  • GTA: London 1969 - PC (Windows)
  • GTA: London 1961 - PC (Windows)
  • GTA 2 - PC
  • GTA III - PS2 and PC
  • GTA Vice City - PS2 and PC
  • GTA San Andreas - PS2 and PC
  • GTA Advance - Gameboy Advance (handheld and Gameboy Player)
  • GTA Liberty City Stories - PSP and PS2
  • GTA Vice City Stories - PSP and PS2
  • GTA IV - PS3 and PC
  • GTA TLAD - PS3 and PC
  • GTA Chinatown Wars - PSP (on PS Vita)
  • GTA TBOGT - PS3 and PC
  • GTA V - PC

I recently finished GTA IV on PC, for the first time since my PS3 playthrough in 2008. It's very good, with great shootouts. Driving can take a bit of time to get used to if you're more used to the other games, but it's fine once you do. It's a different and more grounded GTA game, so you have to go into it expecting that.

Cool. I've watched Broughy1322 race in GTAIV and thought that the cars were way too bouncy.  But I would loved to have played the game at some point.  Always hoped that they'd convert it for the PS4/5, but alas I think they've got something else on their minds (VI!!!!)

Have you given up with Playstations now?  I gave up after my PS2, as family life took over, but ended up buying a PS4 when I saw how amazing Watch Dogs looked.  After WD I brought GTAV and was completely hooked... 1000+ races, and still love it.

Not at all. I have a PS5. It’s just that due to an injury in my arm I find it difficult to play using standard controls (R2 to accelerate), so I play GTA V on PC using a mod for classic controls in combination with keyboard and mouse. This of course means that I haven’t played GTA Online, as mods aren’t allowed there. Maybe I’ll try again with GTA VI.

GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, TLAD and TBoGT are best on PC with mods, though PS2 is better for the Trilogy vs unmodded PC. So these days I usually also play them on PC, with mods to restore PS2 stuff cut from the PC versions. I also use a PS2 controller with a USB adapter. So I can get the benefits of the PS2 version along with the benefits of the PC version.

GTA 1, London 1969, London 1961 and GTA 2 were made for PC first and are best on it. I play those on my Windows 98 SE PC, though I played their online multiplayer on my Windows 11 PC.

And yeah, Watchdogs is amazing. It was the first game I got for my PS4, in 2014.

cant remember

Played them all as well, GTA4 is one of my favorite and still holds up well enough for someone who hasn't played it before. The more visceral car physics/damage, NPC euphoria and gun sounds IMO still provide it with the necessary oomph despite the modeling and scenery looking a little worse compared to V.

Only ones I’ve never played at all are London 61 and GTAA.

Since I’m a primary console player I haven’t played the majority of the games on PC. Only Vice City and San Andreas.

Further still since I’m a PlayStation preferred player much of my time playing GTA over the years has been on PlayStation consoles.

I’ll be getting GTA VI for PS5 without hesitation.

GTA San Andreas is my favorite(PC and back then also PS2)
Vice City is great(PC)
GTA 3 and V are really good(PC, V also on PS4)
Liberty City Stories is alright(PS2 emulator)
GTA IV personally I didn't enjoy the missions and gameplay but I can see why other people would love it(PC)
Vice City Stories - I am playing it now. It started good but now I don't really enjoy it anymore because of the empire states(PS2 back then and now PS2 emulator on PC)

For the record, I've played III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, IV, TLAD, TBOGT and CTW from start to finish (all main story missions done), but never 100% completed any of them.

The only games left are GTA1, GTA2, London 1969, London 1961, Advance and GTA V, but they don't catch my interest too well so maybe I won't play them.

I owned and completed these GTA games (idk if emulator counts as "owned")

GTA III-(PC) beaten (100% with lc'01?)

GTA Vice City-(PC) 100%

GTA San Andreas-(PC) beaten, i'm planning to complete it 100% soon

GTA Advance-(Emulator) 100%

GTA Liberty City Stories-(Android) 100%

GTA IV-(PC) 100%

GTA Chinatown Wars-(iPhone) 100%

GTA V-(PC) 100%

I've never owned a console in my life, sadly.

The only game left that I want to play is GTA Vice City Stories. Probably I will play it on an emulator

I played them ALL except for Advance and GTA London 1961

LongHairedFreakyGuy

I remember me and some friends would mess around in the original PlayStation games, but due to our ages we didn't ever complete the games, just spent the majority of the time messing around. I'll be giving the games a spin at some point to try and play through them properly though, think it's about time.

Regarding the 3D universe era, the only one I've not played at all is Advance, mainly because I didn't have the proper hardware for it at the time so not paying it any attention. Acquired the game last year so will at least try the game out. Out of all the other titles in this era, I've only ever completed Vice City to the 100% status, with the other ones at varying levels of completion, for various reasons. Won't lie, I've always struggled with GTA3, and San Andreas I've admittedly just never gotten around to trying to complete. Got the DE for PS4 and Switch so my aim is to complete them all. Lost proper access to my PS2 last year so had to cancel my run of LC and VC Stories.

In the HD universe, Chinatown is the one I've never played at all, again due to hardware. Completed IV and it's subsequent DLC's, though never to 100% as I tired of trying to collect all the pigeons. Again, it's on my list to do though. Completed V, but not to 100% due to getting bored of some of the side quests.

I don't know about others, but I've always liked to play both in console and PC to see the differences between each iteration. All my first playthroughs were in console, followed by playthroughs on PC were I play with mods to improve the experience, keeping the console versions around when I want to play the games in their most "authentic" experience, as the PC versions are all ports of the original console versions.

GTA III - PS2 and PC

GTA VC - PS2, PC and Mobile

GTA SA - PS2 and PC.

GTA LCS - PS2 and Mobile

GTA VCS - PS2

GTA IV - Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

GTA CW - Mobile

GTA V - PS3, PS4 and PC

I'm yet to play the 2D era games and Advance.

HOW'S ANNIE?

The only games I've never played at one point are GTA 1 and the London expansions. I've played GTA 2 on somebody else's PS1 and I've forced myself through a poorly emulated version of Advance. I otherwise own every other game in some capacity.
