GTA IV, a unique GTA

I haven't finished it yet because I don't have a console, but I already know the entire story of this game. Without a doubt, it is a very cool and very nostalgic game. The evolution of graphics was notable. The setting and everything was much closer to reality. The story is very good with a very heavy and dramatic load. I would have liked to have had an idea of what it was like to play this when it came out, I imagine it would have been even more impressive, as it was a huge change in the franchise. And I like it too, because it has a certain nostalgia for the 2000s, I confess. I miss the way some things were, maybe because I remember the good times I had.

I only got to play the game properly a couple of years after it had come out but I'll never forget how impressive the game looked back then. Going from San Andreas to this was a huge deal, truly one of the most impactful generational leaps in my opinion. The graphics, the physics, the storytelling, everything had evolved and made the GTA series feel that much more massive, it was like another GTA III to some extent.

Of course not everyone liked the shift in tone and gameplay but to me it was a necessary step for R* to make to truly move the series forward and turn it into this juggernaut of a franchise. While the game definitely feels a bit dated nowadays, I think it still holds up very well and the overall experience more than makes up for its shortcomings, I think IV will always remain a timeless classic.

No how much time passes or how many other games I play GTA IV will always hold a special place in my heart along with both TLOU and Red Dead games.

 

Even if there aspects of GTA IV that have been bettered it’s still a very special game to me.

I pretty much try to play the storyline from start to finish every year.

Definitively my favorite GTA ever, i have finished 3 times on Xbox 360 PS3 and Xbox One retrobackward, i should be trying the 100% on PC.

It was absolutely amazing when it was released and is still fantastic now. I still play it often on Xbox and even mess around with the online mode that still has players .

I go through GTA 4 almost every Fall and winter, but I'm still surprised at how unique it is, and we can assume that with the transition to new graphics, Rockstar is trying to stuff all the mechanics and interesting things into the game they release, for example, let's compare GTA 2 and GTA 3, with the transition to 3D it was it 's just saturated with all sorts of mechanics that at that time could (I guess) just blow up the Player 's emotions, the same as with GTA Sa and GTA 4 (GTA LCS and VCS don't count)
