'Godfather' Criminal Ranking

I finally reached the Godfather ranking in LCS! I've been going at it since November 30th of 2024 by messing around and testing various strats to get the most amount of CR points as possible. (PS2 version)

(screenshot features the most relevant stats to me personally, the kills and the helis destroyed, alongside the time it took to do it)

 

I looked everywhere online for anybody else who achieved this legitimately or any discussions on how to farm CR points in LCS, but apart from an old blurry photo of a PSP and the usual obvious and useless tips like "go on 6 star chases" or "kill cops and destroy helis!" I found myself forced to actually develop a strat to farm this especially since all of the strats to get max rating in VC and SA couldn't be applied (garages in this game are too small and cumbersome to realistically fit 3 helicopters inside of them and blow them up constantly without it becoming too much of a hassle to deal with, and enterable helis don't spawn outside of missions so you can't farm their spawn points over and over again), so the best course of action was to maximize the amount of killing that I had to do in the game as much as possible.

 

My first method was simply replaying the Slash TV minigame over and over again because it was relatively simple and quick to secure 75 kills with an M60 every time you played it, but after I had reached the 10k kills barrier I realised this wasn't gonna cut it as progress wasn't going as fast as I had wanted it to be.

My Second method was to try and find a place on the map where I could safely kill NPCs without having to deal with the Tanks that would innevitably arrive in a 6 star wanted level, I tried various locations like Belleville Park in Staunton, the subways, the Chinatown Basketball court in Portland ect.. but most these locations either had too little NPC spawns to reliably kill them en masse (like what I noticed in Belleville) or the threat of on-foot police officers alongside the heli support would do some serious damage to Toni which cut short my killing sprees since I had to retreat and save the game to avoid losing the progress being made on the kills.

 

I didn't give up on the 2nd method because farming kills in the Basketball court in Chinatown was giving me some erally satisfying results, but the risk of dying made it annoying to farm there. So I decided to look around some more and found arguably the best way to farm CR points in this game with up to 12k-12.5k CR points per hour in a specific spot in the Portland Docks.

This is where the bulk of the grind will happen, no tanks can spawn here, no hostile on-foot officers, health and armor spawns in safe and close proximity ,constantly respawning NPCs and police choppers that are easy to destroy. Just blast the NPCs that spawn on the left of the screen with an RPG, then blast the ones on the right, by the time you kill the ones on the right, the ones on the left will respawn again when you point your RPG at them. Simple as that. Shoot the choppers that spawn in every minute or so and there you have it, the best way I could think of to reach the Godfather ranking legit.

 

It took me 2 months of on and off playing to get to the maximum ranking, one thing to note is that you need 10,000,000$ on your character to actually get the criminal rating, getting to 1 million points alone isn't enough (found this out yesterday lol), you could probably save some time by getting max money, best way to do so in LCS is the bike salesman side-mission in staunton, just keep selling Faggios over and over to get the in-a-row bonus, it shouldn't take that long. (atleast compared to killing 800k NPCs and blowing up 4k+ choppers)

 

I might post a video of the method later (MIGHT), I made this post to help anyone else in the future who might be dumb enough to attempt this stupid piece of sh*t challenge (nobody cares, just save yourself the trouble bro it ain't worth it lmao)  and to confirm to those who were like me that thought that this sh*t was impossible to do in a short amount of time (if you consider 100-ish hours of just shooting npcs to be a short amount of time, which is alot compared to the 20 for VC or 40ish for SA now that I think about it)

 

This means that I got max ranking on every PS2 GTA game legitimately with the only one missing being VCS, I may or may not do it, depends on how im feeling really, none of these games gave me the feeling to satisfaction I was expecting when reaching the final ranking, they were on the back of my mind for yeaaars and after I was finally done with them I still don't know why I bothered putting myself through this sh*t.

 

Anyways, good luck to anyone else who might try this. Let me know if anyone else got this ranking! I don't wanna feel lonely knowing I was stupid enough to do this on my own, maybe there are others who achieved it already or are working towards it!

1mil CR is insane . I've passed 160 levels of Firefighter mission to earn ~70mil $ and gain remaining ~70k CR (100k required) to get an achievement in Vice City DE. That was crazy

wow, how much time did it take to reach level 160? I usually just do Vigilante with the hunter on Vice City or the Cone Crazy exploit. I wish the max for Godfather in all the games was 100k, thats a change I like about VC DE because atleast those who made it realised how ridiculous it is.

Thanks  I have lots of screenshots of my stats because I like keeping records of my progress when doing this type of tedious work. I'm addicted to the stat screen lol

I'm in the middle of doing this as well. Only at 23k CR atm but I like the challenge. This is still my favorite Gta game so I have to get the Godfather rating to really master it lol one thing that sucks though is your spot in the Portland Docks doesn't spawn that many npcs in the psp version. Only 2 at a time on either side and it's not consistent. I'm still finding a good spot but one I've always liked since I first played this game nearly 20 years ago is the star statue in Torrington on Staunton. I just climb up the star, go to the tip of it that's pointing towards the road and start causing mayhem. Tons of npcs spawn on the street and even more spawn in the little area near the statue. Plenty of kills to farm there. You can take cover behind the top of the star and shoot down the helicopters. I really only die by the helis (or myself by shooting them with the rpg when they're too close) and the occasional army man will get me but it is another spot for the people on psp. There's definitely a better spot for that system but I've yet to find it. I found this thread whilst trying to find out how to get to Godfather and I love that someone else went through the same hell I'm putting myself through lol great work and thank for the post! I'm getting the game for ps2 this weekend so I'll be sure to farm kills at the docks in that version when I eventually beat that version of the game.

OK I stand extremely corrected, that spot at the docks is a good spot even on psp. I went back there out of desperation and this time I took a bike (I took a tank there the first time) and way more people spawned. It's a very nice kill farm spot and I cannot thank you enough for finding it. I wonder if my tank took up too many resources on my psp so no one spawned at first because there's seriously so many now. I'm only 40k kills in so I have a ways to go but this will make it much less painful lol

How's the progress going so far? did you keep doing it? just curious to know. Even if you stopped at 40k kills thats probably more than like 90% of people who played this game lol.

I'm at 96k kills currently at I believe 121k criminal rating. I've been playing off and on since posting this though. I discovered that area in the docks in general has quite a few areas that spawn several npcs to kill in two separate groups so you can kill one then go back to the other and repeat. Just don't get too close to the road or the tanks will come in and get you. OP's idea of doing this here is definitely working out for me. It is very tedious but I am determined to get it. Eventually lol

Best of luck with it! its probably healthier to space out the killing over a longer period of time rather than doing 10 hours+ gaming sessions of non-stop killing lol. I'm playing this on emulator and got a 100% save but I'm thinking about getting an actual PSP to do this legit for bragging rights lol. Nevertheless I respect your dedication to this game, it deserves alot more love than it gets.

Thanks! It definitely is lol as much fun as it is killing people for that long I do need to take breaks from it. But I'll get there. Oh nice you definitely should! It runs so good on psp. That's where I play it the most but I did recently get it for ps2 and got 100% there too. So this is my third time fully beating it without cheats lol I love this game. I completely agree that it deserves more love. It's such a great game and a great expansion on Gta 3 as well
