Grand Theft Auto - Midnight Club London

Ever since I was a kid playing Midnight Club 1, I loved the London map. I dunno why, I just loved foreign sh*t as a kid. I always dreamed of putting the London map from that game into a GTA game and making a total conversion around that. I found two cool dudes, Whyhako and Qwerty Van Halen to help.  Sadly, due to real life commitments (fixing up a house ain't cheap) I have to put the breaks on that idea, especially since I sponsored the project. But here's the map in and of itself, with paths, peds, a minimap, and some cars ported directly from MCSR. Super-Dee-Duper!

 

There's not much else to do besides drive around and dick around and explore. If you wanna use it as a basis for yet another GTA London 1969 conversion/remake (or whatever else you wanna do with this map if it interests you idk), you're more than welcome to as long as you give us credit.

HOW TO INSTALL


1) Have a fresh install of San Andreas with a 1.0 .exe (not the steam version)
2) Download the mod and copy its contents into the aforementioned fresh install location
3) Play the game

BUGS


-If you alt-tab out of the game and back into it, driving will get f*cked up 
-Some trainer s0beit whatever thing was included with the mod for development purposes and I can't get rid of it :(:(:(:(

@universetwisters Since I played The Getaway on PS2 I dreamed about London return to GTA. 🙂 ...But the map have one "bug" peds drive on wrong side of the road. 🤣

 

Edit: I think the s0beit trainer can be removed deleting the d3d9.dll.

Yes, we all know driving on the right is literally and figuratively the best way to drive :panic:

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE the map is finally on gtainside and the random crashing is fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an update that adds multiple zones to the map, as well as some custom gangs and the title and logo videos taken from GTA London.

Despite our differences in the past @Wakka387 I’m happy to see you doing something unique with the map and making it even better

 

Have you seen those cut yardie ped models from the beta LCS builds? Those could be interesting to pass off into the mod if it’s possible to get a hold of them and get them into SA

Idk about how "easy" it is, but Qwerty Van Halen got Tokyo from MC2 ported to 3Dsmax. Whether or not anything's being done with it, though, I can't say

once it gets added to GTA, I will do the same thing I did with London and add zones/gangs/etc

I don’t even know if it’ll be added to gta, or if it’s a proof of concept. I’ll ask and come back with an answer

Just now seeing this, holy sh*t!!! For a while I had kind of hoped the maps from Midnight Club might get ports to GTA, so seeing this is pretty exciting for me. This'll be a fun sandbox for testing and playing with y2k era cars... Can't wait to see what folks do with this.

Now I just gotta' figure out why San Andreas won't run when I try to run it from a copied folder, lmao. Ah well, that's 20 year old videogames for ya'. 😛

EDIT: Figured it out! For some weird reason the widescreen patch doesn't play well with my laptop when it's not in just the regular GTA San Andreas folder, probably 'cause it's got a non-standard screen resolution. (Framework 13 so it's 3:2 resolution as opposed to something normal like 16:9)These cars sure are shiny! Loving this!

EDIT 2: Played around with it some more, took some fun screenshots and I did find ONE bug in that in certain segments of the underground tunnels, the screen will distort a bit as if you were submerged in water. Not sure if that can be fixed or if it's just a limitation of San Andreas. All contained in the spoiler here so as not to spam up the thread with too many screenshots!
