Now we are already at the stage where Rockstar can share news about the game over the next conditional 30-60 days, especially its current release date. In my opinion, either by February 6 or by April 1, they will simply have to either postpone the game until 2026, or launch the main marketing of the game (in the second case, the game will be 100% aimed at the fall of 2025).

These are not even speculations or schizophrenic lunar theories/club 27, but natural common logic and sense. They need to plan a giant marketing window by distributing a bunch of different materials. And as a last resort, you need to start doing this sometime in April.

When I think about the possible delay of the game to spring 2026, in the case of such a giant lumps as GTA 6, it can safely be released in April-May 2026, but I still remain convinced that the traditional autumn slot on the eve of the holiday season (October-December) is still more tempting. and a profitable slot for Take-Two.

Of course, it all depends on the Rockstar themselves. Now there is a very high probability that the first scenario of events will happen in the next 60 days and they will publicly postpone the game until the spring of 2026 in February-March.

Anyway, the first phase (I'm sure it won't be the last) of the protracted drought will soon come to an end and Rockstar will in any case be obliged to release some kind of update on the game in February or March (delay/announce the exact date in 2025). I don't believe in any way that they will delay this until the end of May (around the 20th, the main financial annual report of T2 takes place). I think that if in February/March they announce the delay of the game until the spring of 2026, they will accompany it with some delicious screenshots, and thus phase 1 of the protracted drought will come to an end, lasting about 14-15 months. And then phase 2 of the protracted drought will begin until summer / autumn, in the fall there will be a full-fledged second trailer along with the start of pre-sales of the game, and the release in April-May 2026.

Nevertheless, I really hope that Sam Hauser and his team have everything under control, and the delay scenario will not happen. We will believe and hope to the end that in February-March we will receive full-fledged marketing of the game, and the release will take place in October-November of this year 🫰🙏

I've been thinking about this gameplay trailer lately. Wonder if Jason and Lucia will swap weapons and share similar movements, if motion matching is something Rockstar will implement.

Still better gun play and sound than gta 5

I'm with ya, we're entering Feb 25, something will happen soon. Not might, will. I understand they're keeping there cards close to their chest but it's not like they can stay quiet for another year, and if they want to sell as many copies as possible they need to start marketing this thing.

The fiscal year ends March 31st, so they could’ve pushed the marketing costs to April.

Doubt they’ll start spending before. The CFO lives quarter to quarter.

Although we could get a trailer before so they finish their fiscal year on a strong note with the “market awareness at an all time high,” but the money will most likely be spent in April onwards.

However, it's worth noting that it didn't look as convincing before as it does right now. Expecting new information in the next 30-60 days in October-November and expecting new information within 30-60 days from January 22nd are slightly different things. :kekw:

The 25th fiscal year ends on March 31. On February 6, there will be a new T2 financial report for the 3rd quarter of fiscal year 25. Rockstar will simply be forced to share the latest updates on the game either by February 6 or by April 1. It's not even necessary to launch the main marketing in February-March — it can be done in April-May, but if they are seriously still counting on a release this year, then in February-March they should already wake up and declare themselves: and it doesn't matter what news, whether it's a delay in the game with consolation screenshots OR an optimistic community update, where the release date of the game will be announced, accompanied by the game's cover / art / screenshots / announcement of the second trailer, and so on.

One way or another, we should receive some new materials on the game in the next 2 months, regardless of whether they postpone the game or start massive marketing. In any case, the first phase of the protracted information drought will soon come to an end 🙃

I don't know why you think 30-60 days when we are literally going get something from them before the 6th.. and "force" is not a good way to say they will say it when they say it... this all according to their plans unless it get change in last min that something we have no control on. I'm not worrying about it.. I don't know why you mention April 1st either for fool day.. if anything going say a game going to be DELAY would be closer to release date and come out say it... I do have a reason to believe they already delay the game twice without saying it and it been 12-13 years long. As rockstar say RELAX.. it will come when it come.

Eventually that statement will be right though, unless they cancel the game altogether.

Just from the current reality, we see two ways: either they remain silent until February 6, or they remain silent until April 1. And it makes absolutely no difference what news they come back with on these appointed dates. It doesn't matter if it's an announcement about the delay of the game, or the main marketing launch with a bunch of materials in the future. In any case, we will have to get new materials on the game, since the first phase (obviously, there will be a second) of the information drought, which began in December 2023, will come to an end after about 14-16 months since the release of the first trailer

May is last the place they'll remain silent on whenever is their calling call for T2 there.. I can see them doing a spider-man route.

If that 6 months before release marketing strategy will be true for VI too, April is a very good shot. It’s between the middle.

but I too, believe we’ll get something before that, might even be as soon as next week

When Rockstar delayed RDR2 from Fall 2017 to Spring 2018, they announced the delay in May 2017. So no, they aren’t forced to announce something before the end of this current fiscal year.

I think GTA5's and RDR2's release date announcement were different in January 31, 2013 and February 1, 2018 - they had to say something, because both games had a Spring release window.

We have a Fall 2025 release window for GTA6, the most similar situation like this one is Red Dead Redemption 2's first release window (Fall 2017).

Rockstar only announced the Spring 2018 release window on May 22, 2017 - only one day before the T2's Earnings Report.

So follow this pattern, it is possible that we will only know anything regarding the release date or delay when T2 will share their Earnings Report again in May.

Last year was quite relaxing as I expected complete silence from R*, but now knowing we are close the the next official news, trailer or delay I feel like going nuts. I feel like an addicted waiting for the next shot.

Haha I'm the opposite, was feening the 2nd trailer last year, not that it's finally 2025 I don't as much, time flies by these days, it'll be fall soon :D

A little offtop, if possible. Do you think the guys from Take-Two/R* will be able to do something against this team and his planned GTA Vice City mod on the GTA IV engine?

It's just that the development team itself is from Russia, and I also live in Russia, and I've been following these guys for a long time. As far as I know, they have been working on this mod since the beginning of 2022 and are about to release it.

So, the question is, given the geographical location of the entire team, will Take-Two/R* be able to somehow diplomatically/legally close/delete/sue these guys? Or is it impossible in the current reality? I was just wondering :kekw:

depends on where they host it, but I’m leaning towards no. If you want to do things like this it’s honestly best to stay anonymous anyway.

Guys don't forget that GTA V gen 9 version for PC is yet to be announced. So who knows, maybe we will only get the official release date for this version.

What we get for sure is the financial forecast and let's hope it still aims for fall 25.

Now that Vice City Next Gen Edition has been announced and the next one is coming out in Florida, I'm really excited to see what the game's introduction will be like. What are your top 3?

Citation needed.

I am very well aware that around conference calls they can announce things, but there is never a certainty and we have no idea what it is if anything. We can't just say "WE ARE getting something".

I found a video on YouTube that was uploaded over 2 years ago, with all the videos of the teapot leak. The amount of stupid people in the comments is surreal, they makes us all look like geniuses.

That said as I've said before I wouldn't be shocked if GTA VI (+GTAO2) is priced officially at $80 for the standard edition.

Damn, i've been saving money for what seems like forever and I still see the possibility that I won't have enough to play on day one.

I think there are a lot of ways to make a little money quickly now. People have made millions on the TRUMP coin.

I can’t wait for all the over analysis and speculation tomorrow (Thursday) since the post is obviously gonna contain a moon since it’ll be a Lunar New Year post. I'll have my popcorn ready...

Here’s some perspective on Rockstar’s radio silence:

If you’d had a baby when Trailer 1 dropped in December 2023, that kid would now be saying their first words.

By the time we get Trailer 2 (March? May?), they might just be giving a TED Talk :kekw:

Spoiler

(or asking where the trailer is if you raised him right) :kekw:

Mod is safe unless T2 decides to pay them for taking it down.
