Simple. A black comedy crime drama about three very different criminals with their own agendas trying to find their place in life in a satirically distorted version of post-recession L.A.

And as for the bolded, you say that as if it's a bad thing. You could say the same about many great pieces of media that emphasise atmosphere and themes over simply focusing on plot, which, coincidentally, is the correct approach for open-world games in my opinion. RDR2 and GTAIV are no different in that regard.

I'm not a film snob or something, but I did find GTA V's story kind of forgettable because it spread itself thin. I think three characters + having their own personal antagonists did not do the story favors. That said, I actually think story writing is Rockstar's weak point across all their games, and I say that as a complete GTA sycophant who mostly plays single player.

I wouldn't really agree with that, but to each their own.

And the plot is rarely the main focus in Rockstar's games, even more so in their open-world ones. Their games more often than not favour atmosphere, themes, and character-driven interactions over anything, which, as I said before, is the correct approach for open-world games in my opinion.

With GTAV I genuinely don't know where to start.

GTA V's story is practically a bunch of troubles stacking up on each other which doesn't make it a bad story but compared to past GTAs it's a bit meh

donkeyass

we are going beyond parody now. What is going on bro

I'm pretty sure any "they'll charge $100 for GTAVI" article is just engagement farming rage-bait. It's almost always based on a quote from some random analyst who gets one thing right and twelve things wrong. Every time I see it mentioned on other social media sites people discuss it as if it's a foregone conclusion, they'll read the headline and then act like Rockstar are committing highway robbery, proving that rage-bait clearly works.

i think it was a bad misinterpretation of an australian article where 100$ are not the same as 100 USD

You're severally overestimating the power of the Ancelottis, they're supposed to be very weak in IV.

That said, if Luis is involved in any shape or form in the next game, I think he's more likely to be their target, he killed Vince while the family was angry at him and Tony.

Wasn’t Luis actor following Manni and Dylan Rourke until the trailer came out?

Yeah, not many know this but people in general tend to follow other people on social media, some say that's what you're supposed to do on there.

More importantly even, it's some analyst's opinion that some people are taking as gospel for some reason, as if it was T2 saying that. It's like the whole thing with Jason Schreier thinking GTA VI may get delayed, acting like it was a confirmation. Corporate analysts have said many a ridiculous thing in past years that nobody agreed with

Michael Pachter during the GTA IV and V days was one.

Do you guys expect horses in the game, that were able to ride. Wasn’t this going to be in GTA V but was cut?

Yeah it was cut from GTA V, and I think after RDR2 that did horses so well, we can probably expect horses in GTA VI.

I swear a small convo happens here about something like the price of GTA6 within 12 hours several youtubers and news accounts take the convo like its come from T2 or R* and treat it as holy evidence people need to start having some outrageous convos and see how far they actually go 😂

I dont think id really enjoy shooting or blowing up horses tho.

shooting police dogs is one thing, shooting chihuahas or horses is something else.

The same reason the mob whacks guys 20 years later after they get out of prison for ratting or interfering with their rackets.

Yeah but Michael isn’t in prison. Madrazo was very quick to find out where he lives and send his goons there later on as soon as Trevor kidnapped Patricia. I don’t see why it would take another mob 12 years to kill the guy.

You gotta remember. That’s “Weak” in comparison to the other families. The weakest family in the Liberty city Area is still powerful as fu&k. Never forget, the Jersey family in the sopranos is considered a glorify crew. We know they weren’t weak at all.

But what power do the weakest crew in one city have anywhere else? They’re nobodies outside of liberty city. They have no pull in LS with all the gang factions. Even in vice city with all the Haitians and Cubans.

Not much pull in LS I agree. Vice city i disagree with you, being Miami. No matter how much it seems. Italian Mob still big af behind the scenes in Miami.

Big in what way? Racketeering? No. Drug game? I definitely can’t see that. They might own businesses to wash the Money they make and send it back home, but I legitimately don’t know what they could be doing in the Vice city underworld. Most of those mob families are old and have fallen off anyway, and I doubt they have any young blood pulling the reigns. The days of the mob has gone the way of the cowboys. A thing of the past.

It's mostly a retirement home for the mob pretty much. A lot of those mobsters own real estate out there. They do still do engage in illegal gambling and money laundering but that's about it I think. Eastern European organized crime is pretty prominent in South Florida and along with the Haitian Zoe Pound gang. I'm sure there's plenty of cartel activity as well. There's a lotta street gang and clique-related crime as well.

This site goes over the many different street gangs, crews, and cliques that carve up the South Florida area. I'm not sure how up-to-date it is, but should give a pretty good idea on what gang life in Vice City could be like

My God, lately I've been running into so many opinions in the style of "No, this is game, 100% in absentia will be postponed until 2026 OR EVEN 2027!"

Is this a loud minority, or is it really as if 70-80 percent of the community thinks that it will be released in spring/autumn 2026?

In that case, I just sincerely don't understand what's in the minds of those people who have been talking and are EVEN mentioning 2027 as a possible postponement. For such people, I have one honest question then: why then did Rockstar as a whole announce GTA 6 SO early if it would theoretically be released in spring/autumn 2026 or EVEN in 2027? Did they have such a need to announce the game as much as 3 years before the conditional release? Seriously?

That's not to mention that the game already had a potential two internal delays.. I understand that GTA 6 is the most ambitious entertainment product in the history of our planet, but wouldn't it have been easier then to announce the game for the first time in November-December 2024, and its release would have been scheduled for autumn 2026? Or did Rockstar need to announce the game for the first time, potentially 3 years before its release?

That’s just what they would want you to know. All imma say is respect and secrecy goes a long way with all walks of that life. The internet is not the end all be all of information about this type of sh*t. A lot of these cats either work hand in hand or have static in some form or fashion. TRUST they (Italian mafia)still do their thing. But, it don’t effect my pockets. So I’ll just say, ok.

I think 2027 is overkill, but to answer your question about what’s going on in their minds, its pattern recognition from the other games getting delayed (plus not understanding how their development process actually works) and the fact that this game is just too big and it wouldn’t be off-base to assume they’ll run into something that’ll make the game get pushed back. I think the silence pays a big part in it too. I don’t think people realize it’s normal for games to go this long or even longer, and some of the people that do are also confused that the only reason why V and rdr2 got something sooner was because of their delays and compensation for it.

Personally, I’d want them to actually market the game before I even start thinking about the release date or how much I’ll pay.

I don’t really think it’s a loud minority, I think that the “average” gamer really just expects it to be delayed like every other project, including Jason schrier. Rockstar can say they’re waiting to do things differently this time but I don’t think they’ve done a good job instilling confidence in people to believe otherwise

But that doesn’t touch on any of the points me or Hoover made. Secrecy or not, the Italians just aren’t a factor anymore

If I remember correctly, the one mafia family in the US that is actually doing pretty good is the Detroit Mafia, aka the Detroit Partnership. I've heard that right now they're the most prosperous and resilient of the families. The 'Ndrangheta is currently the most powerful Italian organized crime group, and they've actually partnered up with the Mexican cartels in the global drug trade and have connections to Colombian paramilitaries.
