GTA VI Speculation & Discussion - Part ∞ - The Leonida Drought

If trailer 2 or anything related to gta 6 were to release around the earning’s call, would we see any signs beforehand? Like them unpinning something on their social media page(s) or maybe a GTAO hint, or something like that?

Looks like other game publishers hope for a 100$ price tag on gta6 so they can follow

I expected a ~100$ price for the new gta, but i cant see people pay 100bucks for other games

I can't see the base price of VI being any higher than the standard $70. I'd say there's a far higher chance of them selling $100-150 editions with a few days of early access.

I think it would be very cool and funny if GTA VI was $60, to move more units or something idk, and every other game would now have a hard time justifying being more expensive than GTA VI.

It's unlikely to happen, it's probably just gonna cost 70 buckaroonies, but it would be funny.

Dang man... I am still pretty disappointed by the new Switch 2 reveal.. not because of what the device is itself, but because i expected more of a show, showing us new and exciting software for one. reasons to get hyped for this new console. we only saw a glimpse of a new Mario Kart or whatever, and I'm not that much of a Mario Kart fan to begin with.. Now we have to wait until April for more news...

I was kinda hoping for the Switch 2 to be revealed in a more spectacular way, so waiting for new stuff on VI would be easier. Seems like there's an abysmal chance we'll get something around the conference call in February, but I deem it extremely unlikely for now.. Probably have to wait until April/May...

Man, the first quarter of 2025 is a fricking bore.....   :/

Yep. In addition, R*/T2 already sell GTAO & RDO separately, but VI will be the first game where online is sold separately at launch, while story mode will be part of the full package that covers both. They will have to factor the online standalone price into the total cost. What portion of the base price will be the online's price? And what would be the story mode upgrade price for those who've bought the online standalone?

T2 could benefit by pricing the online standalone lower, making it accessible for those who can't afford the $70 or $80 price. Eventually, those players will upgrade to access the story mode, so that's a win-win for them. This also opens an opportunity, some players may be eager to access the story mode but can't afford the upgrade price too. That's when they could slide in GTA+, and offer Game Pass-like access. They'll net extra profits from players who keep subscribing instead of saving for the upgrade. Another win-win for T2.

The win for us is if the online standalone is priced as low as it can be and factored into the total cost, the game could be sold at the standard $70 instead of a higher price.

I feel happy and proud to be part of GTAF.
And one of the reasons for that is Administrators and Staff being so efficient about fake info, leaks, theories, but also about toxicity and hatred, even when it is disguised as harmless joke.

It's funny and ironic that a forum about GTA is one of the safest places on internet.

Going to guess the standard version will be $70 along with a $90-100 version that includes some extra side missions and weapons/bonuses in the story mode + some goodies for online. Basically like they did with RDR2 and the Rhodes bank robbery, a free horse and a few other bonuses. No idea how they will handle the online, but I assume Rockstar will really encourage people to buy the more expensive version of the game and at the same time not scare away players from trying online

Some online rumour that started to spread 1-2 years ago and now it is mentionend as a matter of fact in a lot of online spaces I visit. People believe that without questioning it. So easy to spread disinfo.

I'm ready to pay $150 which is what I expect the most expensive digital edition to be.

Ah the super duper deluxe edition 😉

Ah sh*t i completely forgott that there is something like gta online 😅

Stopped playing online many years ago, and i only see the "story part" of gta6 now.

I guess they will sell everything for a standard price, to get even more people to buy it faster. In the end they get more players faster into gta online 2 and thats where the cash cow is waiting to get milked

It came about in the past day or two because an industry analyst said GTA VI costing $100 could save the games industry cause it'd open the door for other publishers to price games at $100.

Like I said in another post, these analysts have for many years now been horribly wrong on a lot of what's good and bad for the industry and this is just another example. $100 games would be the final nail in the coffin for the vast majority of the industry, it'd tank sales.

The key to saving the industry is actually meeting customers where they want to be met, feedback which is all over the internet and publishers/developers are very much aware of but have chosen to ignore to chase fans and markets they have no experience in. Ubisoft is in a nutshell everything wrong with the games industry right now, they literally wasted years and hundreds of millions of dollars trying to have their own Fortnite, all of which have failed, while pushing GaaS into their single player games, rushing out games and releasing them in poor technical states and just in their open world formula becoming dated. If they simply made the games people wanted them to make, their fans wanted to them, they wouldn't be in the situation they're in. Same with loads of other publishers and studios, Rocksteady with Suicide Squad, Concord... etc etc.

Again these industry analysts are just f*cking stupid at this point. I mean that genuinely, it's clear they have no idea what they're talking about.

I won't be surprised if there's a $90-100 version of GTA VI that gives you 3-5 day early access. It's such a no-brainer move from TakeTwo because GTA VI is arguably the most hyped game of 2025 and people won't want to miss out on playing the game, especially earlier than the release date. They're in the business to make money, and doing that (despite how much I disagree with it) would turn a tidy profit - especially with the rumoured $2 billion budget - and make the shareholders happy.

I don't think there will be an early access edition my self, I don't think it fits with R*'s M.O. for their single player experiences. My guess is if there's an early access thing it'll be GTAO2 related.

Early access stuff in general is something that has been strung into the same pile as sh*tt pre-order bonuses, GaaS, higher costs of games etc. Ubisoft dropped it for a reason for AC Shadows - they needed the good PR.

That said as I've said before I wouldn't be shocked if GTA VI (+GTAO2) is priced officially at $80 for the standard edition. I do have a suspicion that they'll charge a little more for it, but again yea, other publishers trying this wouldn't be met the same lol.

I agree with @Zapper, pricing the game higher than the standard $70 would have the opposite effect that Rockstar wants, which is break sales records, both in quantity and in amount of dollars earned.

If Rockstar wants to earn more with VI's Story Mode, they can always make Story Mode DLC(s).

GTA VI priced above $79 is self sabotaging and pretentious to assume everyone will be playing GTA Online. Most of the developers they hire aren't even that cultured enough so Im doubtful, confidently.

GTA V sold 11 million copies day 1

do you think VI will surpass that day 1?

Europeans and Brits have been paying the equivalent of $80 (or more) all gen for some games, it isn't that big of a leap and they could justify it in their own words by saying it includes GTAO2 in the package yada yada.

It's the most hyped video game of all time, it won't dent sales and if it had a very small impact it's an extra $10 of revenue per sale, which would make it a lot easier to break those records. If they don't break V's records it'll have nothing to do with the price and everything to do with the state of the console market and not releasing on PC day 1.

I could be entirely wrong, I wouldn't bet my house on it or anything, but I would not be surprised one bit if it happens.

Panama City (Port Gellhorn) is forecasted to get two inches of snow! To the guy who called me stupid for saying that if it takes place in winter the upper part of the map could occasionally have snow: Haha!

i find these type of comments so lame too, like... this is a video game. you can literally do anything. why limit on things just because it doesn't happen in real life? way to be boring... but then you get arguments that it won't be "authentic" to the real thing.

bitch, i'm not asking for f*cking shark tornados or whatever... and this argument falls flat now too seeing how rockstar brought in futuristic crap to gta online  >_>

The thing is that those $10 will have a much bigger impact in other countries which its players aren't as wealthy, if it rises in the US, it rises even more everywhere else.

Given how rare that is I think GTA Online 2 won't have snow for Christmas time.
