Physical all day, just remember how they messed with the graphics on RDR 2 after a few updates. Keep that blu ray disc just to roll back to 1.0 just in case 😉

What did they mess up??

It's sad to know that VI may be the last Rockstar game with physical copies.

Why is it sad? we won’t have to worry about the next Rockstar game for a very long time anyway after VI :kekw:

i don't see that happening to be honest as long as they still provide the map in the game case as is GTA tradition

This isn't a Rockstar issue, if Sony and Microsoft releases their next consoles without a disc drive there's nothing that Rockstar can do about it.

I just checked Solutions 2 Go's website, the brazilian company responsible for the physical copies of PS5 games in the entire Latin America, and Take-Two is listed as a partner in the main page, so we're still good for this generation at least.

It almost sounds like Expresso 2 Go (GTA3 PTSD intensifies). :kekw:

Man I hope they ditch BOTH red dead and GTA for their next game. I wouldn't expect it to come any earlier than 2040, but I hope they make a medieval knight themed game or maybe even a pirate game. The medieval setting would work well for them considering we know how great they are at designing realistic horses and natural environments from rdr2.

I remind you of 2024. Literally anything can happen.:sadkek:

True, but it’s a fairly consistent pattern. I’m not expecting them to break their silence until around the May earnings call but end of Jan/start of Feb makes sense.

Sadly medival games are not popular...

One thing of note though is that these 4 games were scheduled to release in Spring at that time (with GTAV and RDR2 getting delayed to Fall). Since GTAVI is currently scheduled for Fall 2025, it is possible that Rockstar might not be in a position to choose whether to settle on a final release date or delay the game. When RDR2 was delayed from Fall 2017 to Spring 2018, the decision was made in May, and not in January/February like the other instances.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is pretty popular. I'd play something like that if R* was making it.

One thing I noticed in the leaks was the word ‘holster’ on the weapon inventory/wheel. Makes me wonder if concealed holsters will actually be a thing.

Maybe it’s an upgrade but until then handguns are concealed in waistbands.

Either a leftover from RDR2 or, more likely, just a way to refer to putting the gun away

Please don't bash me for not paying attention if this is mentioned before (90% Chance)

But it is pretty weird that Rockstar skipped 2 newswire Posts right after each other right? GTA online on thursday and RDR on Tuesday. Have they done this before?

It's most likely because of the fires in LA.

Despite that, they still managed to announce a full release date for both games 8-9 months from release. I think it's possible that, yet again, they can commit to a Fall release date by now, specially since how long they've been targeting Fall 2025 for. We'll find out in 3 weeks anyway.:lmaokek:

I'd argue that delaying RDR2 on May 2017 made sense because of how far away that game actually was, they ended up delaying a whole year, likely pushing for deadlines to please investors, deadlines they obviously couldn't make.

We know R* skipped 2024 as a whole to avoid this and went straight to 2025.

Of course this is all assuming they haven't discarded 2025 yet and the game is not fully delayed into 2026 already.

I don’t really buy this. The newswire posts can be made from anywhere in the world, it’s not like they’re dependent on the LA studio.

Im not saying the lack of posts means VI announcement imminent but I doubt the fires have anything to do with why they havnt posted.

I said this but was completely ignored because I guess people would rather go after a conspiracy than real life situations lol

As many game studios based in Los Angeles are coming forward saying that they were affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires in some way, I think mostly employees being evacuated or worse as studios themselves aren't located in the outskirts where residential areas are.
I assume Rockstar is just being quite for the same reason, although development was not halted of course, PR might have stopped temporarily

Imo, Rockstar should implement some kind of block on physical copies of VI when it comes out. Something that doesn't allow you to run the game until the exact date and time it's released digitally. That means it needs an internet connection at least that one time.

While I care about spoilers as much as I assume everyone here does, but this is not a good idea from a preservation standpoint. Single player games should never, ever require an internet connection for you to play.
