Exactly, plus GTA thrives on satire mixed with action elements. Perhaps Leslie wanted to do the opposite to differentiate the game from GTA. It's a gamble of course.

He was working on that roblox-like plattform Everywhere which was supposed to host Mindseye. I guess they realised that it is not easy to compete with these platforms and also money probably dried, as well. Thus they started to promote Mindseye as a standalone game to recoup a bit of money.

It's not an open world game. It's not a GTA-like. Their marketing has been absolutely terrible and that's why 99% of people have no idea what type of game it is, but by their own admittance it's a "faux open world", whatever that actually means. But it's absolutely not like GTA or Saints Row by their own account.

 

The game is highly unlikely to make a big splash but out of those interested in it there's inevitably going to be a lot of them that end up disappointed because MindsEye isn't what they think it is.

 

Honestly my tinfoil hat theory about it all is that they probably wanted to do an open world game, it looks like they made an open world map at least, but Everywhere has absolutely tanked (which explains why they've gone radio silent on it after doing tons of community testing and marketing at game shows) and they need to get something out of the door quick, so they're pushing MindsEye out in some half baked linear shooter story with extremely thin open world elements, and are being intentionally coy about what it is because they're reliant on the misinformation to keep peoples attention.

 

It is almost never a good sign when a game is just over a month away and we're still yet to have any real gameplay footage or hands on (or even hands off) previews. It reminds me of CDPR never showing the Xbox One / PS4 versions of Cyberpunk, like they're hiding something. It's giving off major alarm bells in any case.

Just heard from an insider that someone at Rockstar got to play a GTA 6 demo recently. They said the shooting feels insanely realistic — like, so real that you actually feel bad killing people in the game. Apparently, they’re going for a much more grounded and emotional style compared to past GTA games and also adding more gore and violence that he thinks could get controversial and AO rating

 

The game world is supposed to be Huge the biggest and ambitious open world map rockstar has ever created   even bigger than we expected.

Because of the size, Rockstar is thinking about releasing the game in two parts, with future DLCs already planned to expand the map and story over time.

That would be my guess, but we don't know for sure exactly because they've been extremely vague about the game and show very little actual gameplay.

So yea, anyone expecting a GTA-like, and I still reckon that's probably the majority of people who even know MindsEye exists, are in for a rude awakening lol.

Lmao isn't this from some now ancient reddit "leak".

 

Pure fan fiction, and we can say that with 1000% certainty because whoever said this thinks the game might get an AO rating.

 

Because the only people who would think a modern AAA game MIGHT get an AO rating is someone who hasn't a scooby doo what they're talking about. There's been 24 AO rated games total in the United States. Twenty f*cking four. GTA VI won't be the 25th.

Am I the only one who still blindly trust in The Benz despite all of the red flags and mediocre footage? 

 

He still have a few weeks to inject his genius and magic into the project, just like he did with RDR1 in the very last moment, for instance, turning it into the superb masterpiece it turned out to be.

Pinning all of RDR1's brilliance on a few weeks of Benzies involvement is uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Those emails/texts were put forward by Benzies team to make him look good and try and prove his importance to the team for the royalities, taking them as gospel on what happened in the final weeks of RDR1 is iffy. There's more than one side to that story.

 

It's not like RDR1 didn't look like an amazing game in the trailers long before launch either. MindsEye doesn't have that so far lol.

Mindseye for some reasson gives me bad vibes. I can´t explain why. Kind of Transformers, Fast and Furious movie vibes, just super generic. I´m not interested at all in this game, couldn´t care less.

But basically all of the marketing materials came in the last ~5 months before release. 

 

Furthermore, along with the Rockstar Spouses scandal, a lot of testimonials from employees came out to light, and many of them pointed out similar things. 

 

Both things align well with what we learnt from the legal case. 

 

I'm not saying ALL of its brilliance is due to Benzies, nor that the previous 5+ years of work were non important, but he was probably instrumental to give the final shape of perfection at some degree.
