As technology has advanced, we have been able to play the game on stunning high definition, widescreen LCD monitors with resolutions which are now pushing a 4K standard . There is only one problem with that... GTA 3 was a game built to be played on the PlayStation 2 with small CRT, 480p televisions. Let's face it, it has not aged that gracefully. Some have built large scale mods in an attempt to improve overall graphics of the game and give it a fighting chance, but most fail to retain the certain "patina" that Liberty City has developed through time which has grown on the older fans of the series. Though they make Liberty look better, they always tend to make the game feel less familiar. This mod takes the more common textures that make up GTA 3 and gives them a well needed spit and polish. These are built from the ground up, but are also built to replicate their former blurry counterparts as closely as possible. That way, many old school GTA 3 fans will enjoy a nicer looking game while not feeling far from home. It is not a TOTAL retexture. It only covers the lacking areas around the city that I felt stuck out like a baboons ass. There is no fancy business or messing about here. This is what we already know and love, with an all natural feeling update!     Grand Theft Auto 3D

    GTA3D Mod. Bringing it back to the way it used to be, step by step. Grand Theft Auto 3D is a team effort to bring GTA 3 back to its earliest stages. The mod has been built from the ground up to be as carefully-constructed as possible, and uses a combination of in-game leftovers, HD texture sources, and handmade assets to recreate Portland in DMA's original vision. No missions have been implemented and it's not recommended to play through vanilla III with the mod enabled. More info in the Read Me. Known Issues The HUD/frontend has some problems: The money counter does not work properly, the names for the Audio Hardware options are too long to fit, and there is no widescreen support. Some final III HUD elements are still in place and clash. We tried to fix as many crashes as we could, but some instability may still be present in the mod. Only the American text has been changed for now - sorry! The original alpha Bus and Tank models only have one door which causes crashes in the final game. For now, we've added "fake doors" to these models that allow you to use these vehicles while we decide how to tackle this issue. Many leftover vehicle models have odd dummy placement that causes drivers and passengers to clip in odd ways. These will be fixed in coming updates.   6. It's early 2002s. After the death of Don Salvatore Leone, Tony Cipriani took the leadership over the familly as the traditions say that a new don is ellected from the capos. And Tony was the most experienced of them all. But this soon had to be changed as Joey Leone had to become the new don on behalf of Salvatore's last will. But there were two conditions. 1 - Joey had to create a familly. So he married Misty. 2 - Joey had to make a big deal which would bring profit to the familly. But then Tony betrays Joey and sends him to death. Joey survives. He's on the run now, cannot return home, cannot trust enyone. Only one thing is on his mind now. Revenge... NEW SCRIPT. Missions are not demanding, quite fun. I also made this new feature called Additional Mission Objectives (AMO). During some missions a text box with AMO will appear. It will give you an additional objective that you don't have to achieve, but if you do you will get more money for completing the mission. Those are ussually simple like loose cops, make it in time, kill everyone and so on. Also: New textures (cars, winter duh...) Jinx and Jeans' III Styled Peds Since I took many (any MANY) requests from my mate, Jeans, or I got some ideas in my mind, I planned to release some peds that I did for his mod, and some that I did from full boresom, or even some outdated peds from GTA3D mod (the ones that I did for the GTA 3 Alpha mod).     Mod Loader

    What is it? Mod Loader is a plugin for Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas that adds an easy and user-friendly way to install and uninstall modifications into the game, as if the game had official modding support. No changes are ever made to the original game files, everything is injected on the fly, at runtime! The usage is as simple as inserting the mod files into the modloader/ directory. Uninstalling is as easy as that too, delete the mod files and you are done. Hot swapping mods while the game is running? By using Mod Loader you can! Still not sure? Instant mod swapping, you can refresh mods on the go without closing the game. Game menu for configurations, providing an even easier management of mods. Bug-free audio modding. ASI Loader is required. If you don't have it, just install Widescreen Fix, ASI Loader comes with it. 2. Unpack III.VC.SA.WindowedMode.asi and (optionally) III.VC.SA.CoordsManager.exe to scripts folder, or modloader folder. 3. Start the game.     PS2 loadscreens Yeah, another mod from me. However, it's the first ASI plugin by me, and I think it works well Some time ago I watched a YouTube video from GTA III, which was recorded from PS2. I saw different splashes while loading (SA style) and I was like "WTF? Why it's absent from PC version?". I decided to recover it, and it was pretty easy. The best part is that most of randomizing functions still exist and it's used (!), I had only to finish them.     Sanny Builder is a fast and powerful tool designed for the GTA 3D game series (GTA3, VC, SA; partially LCS and VCS). It is aimed to make the process of editing game scripts and missions as easy as it's possible. It includes a disassembler, permitting the end-user to quickly disassemble the MAIN.SCM file which contains game scripts, and a compiler which produces a binary script file readable by the game. The editor itself offers a large number of useful functions such as; syntax highlighting, error checking, advanced search tools, player coordinates reading, fast movement through code and much more. Sanny offers an advanced code syntax which is similar to existing programming languages. This syntax includes changeable classes, keywords and high-level statements.     HD HUD and Load Screens

    This mod includes almost all (if not all) GTA III HUD icons and load screens (not splash screens, I recommend the ones from dingleman's Natural HD Textures) in full 4K HD. All radar and weapon icons have been redrawn in 4096x496, as well as the sniper rifle crosshair, regular crosshair, rocket launcher crosshair, the radar disc, and the pager. Load screens have been remastered from the PS2 version in 3840x2160 (there is some stretching, but I myself think it looks more natural rather than the narrow characters in the originals). Weapon icons come in full grayscale or the PS2 color. Comes with one extra load screen made from scratch by me to replace a duplicate. Comparison images (since the forum won't let me upload images): Fist Ammu-Nation radar Pager This does not come with any TXDs, as not everyone will want the full 4K quality (I don't even keep them 4K). I suggest you use Magic.TXD to pack them and lower the resolution if you like (I lower the load screens to 1920x1080, and all icons to 1024x1024). Enjoy, and let me know what you think!   23. The Empire State Building in GTA III is extremely ugly, does not look anything like its real or HD Universe counterparts. Also, it has an incomplete collision and a terrible LOD model. I decided to improve it without changing the game original atmosphere. Almost all the textures are from the original model. In addition, I've put time controlled objects for night lights on the windows and decorative lights on the highest floors and antenna. Modloader and Limit Adjuster required.     III Aircraft

    III Aircraft Oh well. For some reason, Rockstar never let us fly with proper aircraft in III-era Liberty City - both GTA III and GTA LCS didn't feature usable helicopters nor planes (although they could be spawned in LCS). However, due to the fact Vice City was developed at around the same time as III, some code got mixed up. Luckily for gamers, one of the mixups was proper helicopters and planes handling! This modification brings several helicopters and planes from the other GTAs to old good GTA III. They handle almost like their VC/SA counterparts, although they may feature some minor differences. Thanks to III CLEO* they'll also appear spawned on the map in several locations. * Not available for Steam version.
