GTA Liberty City 2001 (LC'01) is a lore friendly total conversion mod for Grand Theft Auto 3 that attempts to make the game more in line with its counterparts from later in the 3D era by updating gameplay as well as design direction to match that of its successors. Design wise a key source has been primarily inspiration coming from Rockstar Leeds' Stories games, all while aiming to maintain GTA3's unique identity and fleshing it out through various restorations of design concepts Rockstar never had time to finish or developing on brands and ideas that were originally lacking detail. Gameplay has been finetuned to encompass all the best elements from Vice City, San Andreas as well as Stories, enabling the player to switch outfits, explore interiors across the city, play arcade games, swim for a very limited time, fly helicopters, jump out of moving vehicles, utilize over 36 weapons and drive over 105 vehicles and much more. Stay tuned. When it's done.     GTA3: Steelport. GTA3: Steelport is a modification that replaces the usual Liberty City with a completely new city - Steelport. The city was not exactly copied from its prototype from the computer game Saints Row 3, however, it is processing the original version into a more recognizable city for those interested in the US East Coast. In part, this version of the city was inspired by New York and, in particular, Manhattan. In this version, only one island will be available to you - the Commercial Part of the City - but I myself hope to continue to develop the remaining areas and, over time, provide for downloading a more complete version of the city. Every single story mission (including optional/side missions) has been tweaked, or in some cases completely rewritten to be much more difficult. Every single hidden package, health, armour, bribe and weapon pickup has been relocated. A new wardrobe system has been introduced, with 11 new outfits rewarded throughout the game. 4 Brand new "off-road" missions have been added. A large number of map additions and tweaks (including brand new interiors) have been implemented. 10 new vehicles have been added, some of which are rewards for beating certain missions. 20 new Unique Stunt Jumps. 20 new rampages. Import/Export garages swapped between Portland and Shoreside (with one vehicle completely new). Several back-ported VC features such as poppable tyres and breakable windshields. Traffic and pedestrian density has been increased, with behaviour tweaked to be less friendly. Gangs are now less friendly and become better armed at certain points in the story. Radio stations have been largely expanded thanks to the addition of LCS renditions, extra lore friendly/beta tracks as well as Head from GTA 2. 2 new radio stations have been added, 'Plastic Nectar' and 'Bang Radio'. The map has been littered with extra audio zones, parked cars and particle effects to bring even more life to Liberty. Mission specific music and a "failure jingle" have been added. Restored beta busker peds along with a couple of extra variations. Taxi missions are slightly trickier (being wanted will make the passenger flee, & fleeing passengers try to pull you out of the car). You can sprint infinitely and with any weapon from the start of the game. Draw distance and 2DFX lights have been greatly increased and island loading has been removed (thanks to Project 2DFX). + More I've probably already forgotten! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tightened Thrice is being made with Speedrunners in mind, as such it's a complete package that just needs to overwrite a vanilla III 1.0 install.   9. Misc This project has been planned since 2016 and even partially existed here on GTAForums in my workshop. The main goal is to get the best quality and in the future (maybe) extract SVG vector artwork from all of them to get so called “eternal” textures for loading screens and port them to any screen ratio using original scaling and artworks, textures. I stick only to canon references where we have them and try to embody all the variations of them that we know. most of artworks based and taken from our other project Rockstar Design. Also in parallel I try to fix the errors that left Rockstar themselves. Based on original PS2 textures and the degree of compliance is 98-99% from screen to screen.     I've been working on a mod the last couple of days. The idea is to bring the (ps2) LCS atmosphere to III WITHOUT being an LCS port. This means: - LCS timecycle - LCS textures - LCS building pipeline - LCS-like car pipeline (it's not 100% exact but close enough) - LCS postfx - just for the heck of it blue police car and enforcer cause I like them All textures in LCS had their gamma changed to 1.5, so this mod will replace all map textures with gamma-edited ones. Additionally I am using LCS road textures. But these are the only map changes I've done. Most notably I have not used vegetation from LCS, but plan to do so in a later version. In summary, the mod is now a cocktail of my own creations, LCS Mobile textures, and original HD texture source material used by Rockstar for GTA3 (thanks DimZet). Each texture has been cherry-picked and tailored to fit the GTA3 aesthetic. 1024px and 512px are the new standards for most surfaces, and all textures are now compressed with DX1 (DX5 for alpha based textures). With 145 TXD files in total, I managed to get the total file size of hdtex.img down to 449 MB. All textures are also mipmapped. Thank you for everybody's patience during the extended development of this release. While not every suggestion made it in, I tried to incorporate as many good ideas from this topic as I could where I saw them. Hopefully, it paid off! MOD DESCRIPTION GTA3 is a game that will be played by gamers across the world for years to come. As technology has progressed, 4K is slowly becoming the standard display resolution for gaming. The only problem? GTA3 was a game built to be played on the PlayStation 2 with 480p CRT televisions. On these newer displays, there is no denying it hasn't aged gracefully. Some teams have built large scale mods in an attempt to improve overall graphics of the game and give it a fighting chance. Most of these fail to retain the certain patina that Liberty City has developed over time, which has grown on the older fans of the series. Despite making Liberty look better, they tend to make the game feel less familiar. NHDR takes the common textures in GTA3 and gives them a well-needed spit and polish. Each texture has been cherry-picked, changed up, or rebuilt from scratch to replicate their blurry counterparts as closely as possible. By doing this, many old school GTA3 fans will enjoy a nicer looking game while not feeling far from home. While this is not a total retexture, roughly 80% of textures seen during gameplay are replaced. There is no fancy business or messing around here. This is what we already know and love, with an all natural feeling update!   14. INTRODUCTION "Perfectionism is my curse." This is my first formal modding project for 3D-era GTA series (more especially the main trilogy, Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas, but even considering Rockstar Leeds dilogy, Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories). This project is, at least for now, not monolithic. This production can come in form of a single model or even modpacks, with their due editions for the determined GTA title. "Project Resculpt" is basically the brand for this mod series. It consists on remodelling (and/or even retexturing if necessary) at least some or most of the original models from these games, that I consider disproportionate before any of their counterparts IRL, but keeping (at least nearly) their original quality (whether polycount and/or texture resolution/compression). I have in mind to cover mainly objects like weapons, as well as some peds and even I am eager to mess with vehicles (where we have pretty much "fabric to cut", at least in SA). Mostly obsessed with consistency and symetry, these models I am aiming for simply bug me and I consider they need an aesthetical change. DEMONSTRATION - Vice City Ingram: I procured to replicate the most similar dimensions of the real-world Mac 10 millimetrically as possible, while staying into the same polycount range or a similar LOD to game models. I also attached the gun_trigs_16col (16x16 triggers collection texture) from VC/SA Combat Shotgun (Spas 12) to fill that hole and also save some use of meshes.     Enhanced Vehicle Extras This modification is too simple and just aims to add extras to some vehicles from GTA3 and GTA Vice City. _______ Extras present on GTA Vice City has been backported and adapted to some vehicles from GTA3, since just a few has extras in that game. I did some custom extras, and some others comes from GTA Liberty City Stories. Screenshots: *Some extras are missing in the screenshots because I didn't spawn all of them, so discover them while playing the game. Download Well since the extras for GTA3 that I did above are from GTA Vice City, I'm planning to make slighty edits or create new ones taking base on current ones, also port some San Andreas extras that would fit strictly the atmosphere of the game.     GTa2 sounds for Grand Theft Auto: III

    Welcome to.. this. This modification gives the game some GTa2 sounds. Poorly made, however. (like vehicle engines and police dispatch that almost makes no sense) I consider this a v1.0, since: -there are some sounds that need to be replaced (pedestrians voices, vehicle horn sounds etc.) -I should also use some original sfx.raw/sdt since I used GTa3D's. (this mod was, yes, originally made only for GTa3D) I plan to release a 2.0 soon that will contain better vehicle engine sounds and other stuff that I missed in the previous version. If you think you can improve it/make an enitre better version than mine's, feel free to post it here! (you'll get a cookie or something, I dunno) For now, enjoy this crappy version!     Smartped "Peds are dumb" If you visit GTAForums, you like GTA, Correct? But let's admin it, peds in RW Gta's are dumb and quite annoying. The police officers are weak, the medics are scared of everything and the worst of all... Tommy is stronger than anybody else, it looks like you are playing a Superhero game! Smartped is a simple, very simple project, that promises some changes, to turn the game more balanced, realistic and fun.     Hey guys, here's something you don't get to see every day! Not to this extent to say, at least... This modpack lets you ADD (NOT replace!) most, almost all of the vehicles from GTA Vice City! //Getting Started / First of all, you need to have a clean, unmodified copy of GTAIII. No mods or file alternations of any kind, otherwise this modpack probably won't load up correctly and/or will crash the game. You also need to have the official v1.1 patch installed, which is included in this archive. //Requirements / OK, so before you get started you NEED to have GTAIII Limit Adjuster v2.0 already installed, which is available here: http://www.gtainside.com/en/gta3/mods/102297-gtaiii-limit-adjuster/ You also need CLEO library which is available at http://cleo.li/ Without it, you won't have access to all the exclusive vehicles hidden across the entire Liberty City. I also highly recommend that you get a "SilentPatch", available here: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/download.php?f=39611 You don't have to do this step (as the game will work just fine without it), but it will add better visual effects, make the overall atmosphere a lot more similar to the one from Vice City. //Installing / Once you have 1.1 patch, Limit Adjuster 2.0, CLEO Library & Silent Path installed, simply start up "install.exe" & browse to your GTAIII folder, where you want this modpack to be installed. Simple as that! //Testing the game / Once everything is (hopefully) set up, start up the game & drive around for few minutes... You SHOULD be seeing Vice City vehicles, driving along with pre-existing, standard GTA3 traffic. //Special Notes / Due to current limitations of Limit Adjuster & GTAIII game engine in particular, some of the vehicles won't be fully accessible at this time. I'm referring to public service vehicles in particular (Police, FBI, Military, etc) with the exception of Taxis, those are fully functional. Furthermore, due to same limitations I've decided not to release the boats, even thought all the files & models had already been loaded into the game & can easily be manipulated to spawn, hopefully without crashing the game. Maybe that's something I'll look into, if I ever decide to make an update //Have Fun! / Now that you have the game up & running, there are so many things you can do around Liberty City! Apart from trying out all the cars & trucks from Vice City, see if you can find ALL the hidden vehicles! This includes the following models: Firetruck, Ambulance, FBI Car (black Washington), Police car, Enforcer, Golf cart, Baggage, FBI Rancher, Hotring Racer(s), Bloodring Racer(s), Sandking along with Romero (hearse) and all the helicopters from Vice City.     GTA III Retextured Peds

    I never liked the textures of pedestrians in GTA 3, it has a very cartoon style, an example is this outfit http://i.imgur.com/MDGf3HV.jpg, it is basically a color, has no detail. I decided to change the texuras peds game, I know it was terrible, but I tried.     Claude From SA to lll

    This is a modification for Grand Theft auto 3 which replaces the in-game model with Claude from San Andreas.Personally i liked how Claude looked in SA rather than lll. To make it is pretty simple i used Claude from San Andreas and split his body into parts to fit the GTA lll model.The main problem with that is the jacket placement is off. The mod works for the most part but i still need to edit a lot before i even think about releasing it.As of right now i've only finished the upper body i'll be working on the lower body soon.
