I've played GTA V and Saints Row 3/4 and I have to say I think Saints Row did it a lot better. Property ownership in GTA V seems like some afterthought they threw in there so they could be like Saints Row. In Saints Row you could actually own stores and properties that had a real effect on the game. I used to buy all the Friendly Fire stores. Not only did I get extra income, but I got discounts on ammo too. I bought the Movie Theatre, Golf Course, and Cannibis Shop in GTA V, and I feel like I've really gotten nothing for all the money I spent. Just the bragging rights to say I own a Movie theater or weed shop. Wish I could buy Ammu-nation or LSC.

So as we know Rockstar made an attempt with GTA IV to move the franchise in a new more serious direction and I really loved it its still by far the best GTA game storywise Unfortunately many didn't like this and wanted Rockstar to return to the the crazyness and over the top storystyle of SA and then we got TBOGT and at last GTA V which has one of the most disappointing storylines for me It doesn't know what its supposed to be crazy/over the top or a more serious and emotional In contrast to that the Saints Row franchise has gotten 100% crazy and without any restrictions its lot of fun I think this is actually a good and much better approach It wants to be crazy so it goes full out not half assed like GTA V or TBOGT Thats why I actually I enjoyed SR IV's campaign a lot more than V Of course GTA V is basically better than SR IV in almost every aspect like gameplay, the city etc. but still the story of SR IV was way too awesome and due to the stellar voice acting it really seemed like everyone was having fun whereas GTA V has this more serious moments like Trevor learning about the truth about the Brad issue but it just drops it immediately and doesn't have the emotional and dramatic feels like GTA IV So my verdict is basically that Rockstar should return to a more serious story or go more over the top (and no that doesn't mean they should add aliens) What do you think?

So, whenever I make a post against ideas such as traffic laws and fuel or I make a post stating that I like mayhem, someone always has to make the comment "Why don't you just go play saints row?". Fine. I will tell you in great detail why I don't abandon a series I've loved since 2002. All of my problems are with the third. I loved the missions, the missions were some of the most fun I ever had in a game. The problem is after the missions. There are a lot of crazy fun weapons, but the whole game is brought down by one major problem. The Location. Steelport. What a bland piece of sh*t. The whole city is nothing but city. There's no rich areas, no beach, no trailer park, no graveyard, no prison island, nothing. All it has is an airport. It's all the same tall buildings and industrial areas. Even IV's liberty city had more variety than this. I'd expect a game about wacky fun to at least have an amusement park. Then there's the pedestrians. In SR2, the pedestrians had great variety. Business district had businessmen, trailer parks were full of rednecks, suburbs were full of suburb people, prison island was full of construction workers and cops, and so on. Saints Row 3 has like 10 different types of pedestrians that it uses for EVERYWHERE. No variety whatsoever. Even the customization has been stripped down. Plus, believe it or not, I do like a believable world. I like Sleeping Dogs and Assassin's Creed 2 purely because they have richly detailed environments. And while I still have fun with SR3, I do often feel like I'm reading a comic book. You guys have seen GTA V's environment in action, right? Look at all the stuff pedestrians can get up to. I like that kind of realism. I don't want to miss out on that. Saints Row IV is not going to have that kind of realism and you know it. Look at the location variety, Mountains, beaches, trailer parks, cities, and forests. Saints Row IV is just reusing steelport again and it's going to be all city yet again. That's why I want GTA V. That's why I still want to do mostly mayhem in it. Because it will have lots of world variety and believable pedestrians. That's why I don't "Just Play Saints Row".

Only a month separates new games from two franchises that are always compared together; Grand Theft Auto V and Saints Row 4. I was a firm believer in the Saints Row after the 2nd installment, but after playing SR3, I've had about enough. Here are my reasons why. 1. There have been no updates to the vehicle physics since the FIRST game! That's insane and outright incompetent for them to not address this issue. 2. What kind of game's take place in the same cities 2 times in 4 games. And also, how is it that the city from SR 2 is larger than one in SR 3 which are on the SAME PLATFORM! 3. This game used to be about forming a gang and taking over the streets. It is now a mish-mash of comic book violence and penis jokes. Anytime there is a chance to use the numbers "69," don't worry, the Saint's Row franchise won't miss it. 4. If this game came out a year before GTA V, I would probably play it, but just a month before the biggest release in Rockstar Games history? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING! FINAL OPINION: Saint's Row used to be a decent open-world sandbox. Now, that sandbox is filled with sh*t... Gimme your thoughts

Well of course they do they totally ripped the series off. What do you guys think about the Saints row developers admitting to loving and playing gta games? Here's what they said below for those of you who didn't read it. Being a fan of the series, Phillips did share that he “can’t wait for GTA 5.” “I’ve played every GTA (on the consoles) since GTA3. They do some amazing things and I can’t wait for GTA 5. My favorite, for reference, is still Vice City.” shared Phillips.

Hey guys I recently decided to play saints row 4 (presidential edition) in order to keep my mind busy at least until GTA 5 comes out! (btw 8 days left!) I don't get how people can compare saints row with gta?! After just playing half an hour on it I got bored with it. Some stuff that I hated about saints row were: 1) The graphics are just not comparable to the realistic graphics in gta games. 2) There was no story line at all! The beginning of the game was awesome where he was president in the white house and u could make decisions and sh*t but after the Whitehouse got taken over by aliens it just got so boring and was not that fun. I did not get what I was supposed to do in the game. just go kill people or something? GTA has a better story line than saints row. Even injustice: gods among us had an EPIC story compared to saints row. 3) The cars in saints row are just useless and so unrealistic! One reason why I love gta is because of the open world and how the cars look and feel in the game are so realistic! I did like the weapons in saints row and the shooting mechanics of the game. I hate how people say saints row is so much better than GTA. It just isn't!!!!!! What do you guys think of saints row compared to gta?

This is not a troll topic. Judging by the recently leaked gameplay footage, there's something about the game which just seems 'Saints Row 2'ish. Obviously the footage is low quality, so obviously you can make no real judgement.

Anyone mind the parts where u meet Barry and after u smoke his weed you shoot up clowns and or aliens? Just felt more Saints Row than GTA. Was fun though.

I just wish GTA5 had some of the features of Saints Row which provided several Safe Houses through out the map plus you could save an endless amount of vehicles in each. Plus you could go to many plastic surgery hospitals and have hundreds of choices to change your characters nationality, color, facial features, body build, age, hair colors and styles, voice, even walking styles and comments and gestures, etc etc etc. Saints Row had 2 crazy wild silly stores for tons of outfits and adult sex store for clothes and made me think instantly of Trevor who who would have looked so funny and silly but here in GTA5 all he can wear is a dress. Plus in the game when you made any changes to a character you stayed that way unlike here in GTA5 your character doesn't. Saints Row has instant access to cheats and several available for purchase homes for planes, cars, etc and heli pads on each Safe Home roof top. You could even dress up and accessorize the safe houses from several options. I'm just saying a few of these features would have been nice if available in GTA5 to extend the fun features in game play.
