Cell phone internet glitch after the "Minor turbulence" missio
WRATH_OF_POWER replied to Jericho freeman's topic in Help & Support
Hmm... Not yet... But in starting a new game means = 0% complete in Story Mode? Will a new game effect my Online Progress..? Thanks! No idea. Just start a new game, save it, and then switch to online mode. Yeah, I might just have to give it a go. Thanks for that man! R* have replied to my Ticket. I am just in the process of getting video footage to send to them it issue. Will keep you all posted. Nice one. I'm still going to phone them on Saturday. Ok so here is one response I got from R* Support: 1.) Clearing the Game Data Utility: a. In the XMB home menu, go to (Game) > [Game Data Utility]. Important: Make sure you select [Game Data Utility]. Do NOT select [saved Data Utility], as this will delete all of your saved games files. b. Highlight the game data utility file (i.e., name of a particular game you have been playing) you wish to delete. c. Press the button and select [Delete]. d. Highlight "Yes" and press the button to confirm the deletion. e. A message indicating the file is being deleted will appear. f. A "Delete completed." message will appear once the file has been successfully deleted. g. Once all of the files have been deleted, go back to the XMB home menu. h. Reboot the game. You should be prompted to reinstall. I have read about this before and some say it does not work either... -
One or more downloadable content packs is missing that is required for
bAsS*macHIn posted a topic in Help & Support
Hey Everyone I am in a terrible state over here trying to get online (xbox360) booted up my gtav, was prompted to install latest update, so I updated, then got a message saying > one or more downloadable content packs is missing that is required for compatibility in GTA Online. Proceed to the Xbox Games Store to download, so I did and saw the beach bum update, erh!!? I have that already lol, so I downloaded it anyway and I still got the same message > one or more downloadable content packs is missing blah blah blah, so I cleared out my system cache, downloaded updates again, had another crack on getting online, still the same message, even tho I have the beach bum downloaded and installed, so went into system settings again ugghrr? only this time went into games and apps and found the beach bum update? and also the latest update, deleted both, switched off console, rebooted, installed latest update and beach bum update, still the SAME SH*%!!!! wtf is going on??? I even tried going in solo online, still get the same message? Please can someone help me out and tell me how I can get around this very frustrating problem, its really depressing me. -
Because since GTA IV they did sort of a reboot of the series, some the brands, characters, and the cities make a return but its a new story and take on the series . This is a lame explanation if i ever seen one .
-
Because there are so many differences between the two of them a chronological story that flows through all of them would make no sense. There's no explanation (That's not far fetched) on why Shoreside Vale vanishes in IV, or why every part of the city except for the airport is renamed. Or why Los Santos' landmass grew in size and Blaine County appeared out of no where and Las Ventures and San Fierro mysteriously relocated. IV was basically a reboot of how Rockstar imagines the GTA universe.
-
Because they were very limited by the technology in PS2 era. When PS3/X360 era came they wanted to remake the cities properly this time so they did. Since there would be no way to realistically explain why did the cities change so much they simply said ''that's a different cannon'' and that's it. Another reason is to restart the story. It's much easier to write one when you have no background that must be connected to the follow up. That reboot explained by universes gave them a chance to come up with something completely new, a new set of characters, a new history etc..

IV was basically a reboot of how Rockstar imagines the GTA universe. I see. But why did they did that in the first place (reboot)? That's an interesting question. One that no one can give a definitive answer on. Personally, I think they are/have been too scared to move away from the already established cities. Liberty City, Vice City, Los Santos, San Fierro & Las Venturas are sort of synonomous with GTA. Now that they have split up the San Andreas state into seperate cities per game, I wouldn't be surprised if GTA VI is set in San Fierro or Las Venturas. (I'm going to guess Las Venturas to show off on next gen with lots of neon and sand particles).

Got the same thing, some things got a little corrupt, jobs not accessible..I rebooted the ps3, things got more normal, but yes, jobs got a little corrupt.Freemode is like Christmas though
-
Because there are ungrateful whiners out there who seriously think there should be more gang-related elements to satisfy their nostalgic feelings. GTA V is not San Andreas, nor is it a reimagining, reboot, or successor to San Andreas. People can't get over that. Contemporary L.A. and the vibe Rockstar wanted to arouse here is a farcry from 90s L.A.

Anyone tried doing the SP/MP glitch as a badsport, ever since I became badsport I havent been able to get past "Transitioning to playstation store" the circle loader just lags so slowely and I have to reboot the PS3..?
-
Sorry if I caused confusion. Rebooting both ps3's solved it
-
I can confirm it is NOT fixed. I just got in michaels house first try, just didn't have anything in the garage. Just tested it for you. Premier is a valid source, I'll go with him confirming it works and LilRican having no clue what they're doing. All of a sudden I cannot press start anymore after I start pstore. I'll reboot and let u know Ps that's on 2 different ps3's Unless I'm having a major brainfart from doing it all day lol

Xbox 360 - Game Keeps Freezing on Franklin's 1st Mission
GTA1002 replied to MeatButcher's topic in Help & Support
Well, I i've made a chat today with a microsoft xbox guy on the support site of microsoft. He had a solution for the issue. clear all GTA V content form the hard drive clear system cache install an other game on the hard drive after that, install GTA 5 When done, play GTA 5. He said that the problem is something with the HDD and GTA 5. When installing an other game, you use the space wich was used by GTA5. Then you install the GTA5 game on 'new space' of the HDD. Something with bad sectors created by GTA5. Sounds a bit weird, but, I've played the whole afternoon, rebooting and changing games, and for now it works? Someone got any experience with this same solution? -
Cell phone internet glitch after the "Minor turbulence" missio
StangOne50 replied to Jericho freeman's topic in Help & Support
This is the reply i got fellas ......... Hello Stangone50, Thanks for contacting Rockstar Support. We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with GTA V on PS3. Below you will find some Console Troubleshooting steps which may help resolve the issue. These are the official troubleshooting steps provided by Sony on their support site: Before troubleshooting, please check the following: a. Turn the console off and on. b. Unplug all power cords and accessories, and then plug them back in firmly. Make sure all connections are secure. c. Update your console software. 1.) Clearing the Game Data Utility: a. **Please note, if the game freezes during installation, please check the following article: http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200195537-Freezing-during-GTA-V-installation- 2.) Ensure your PS3s firmware is up to date (settings > system update - on the main menu). 3.) Restore File System If it is up to date then once again delete the game data. Next follow the steps below: a. Turn off Playstation®3. b. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again. c. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps d. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button. e. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button f. The Recovery menu will pop up. g. Select Restore File system h. Repeat and Rebuild Database 4.) Disconnect your PS3 from the internet. We have gotten reports that some players have been able to resolve their issues by disconnecting their console from the internet. It is possible that some freezes are related to some recent server outages that should be resolved shortly. If issues persist, disabling all internet connections on your console should prevent the game from attempting to access the servers. Obviously this is not ideal, but testing this should work at least for troubleshooting purposes, and should be resolved quickly. 5.) Clear save files. Some crashes can be related to corrupted save data, especially crashes at a specific spot, or crashes on launch. The next step would be to isolate the save files, and see if launching without them remedies the issue. There are several ways of doing this: a. Deleting all files in the Save Data Utility related to GTA V. Note: This method will result in permanent loss of data. If the game crashed the first time it launched, no valuable information is stored in here, so they may be deleted freely. If you already played the game for many hours, you may want to consider trying another method. b. Backing up all Save Data Utility files on an external device before deleting all files as described above. c. Possibly the simplest method, and one that also might isolate other potential issues would be to test the game from a brand new PSN ID/Profile. The save files for PS3 games are tied to a specific user. Launching from a new user should cause the game to pull from a brand new pool of files. 6.) Install the game to a new section of the Hard Drive. Another possible troubleshooting step would be to attempt to install the game to a new section of the hard drive. Typically, when installing, and reinstalling games, the system will attempt to reinstall over the same block of space on the HDD. While there is no function to manually force the game to install on a different block of space, there is one possible workaround that might force the game to install on a new section. Basically, what we are going to do is uninstall the game, clear the cache, and then install some unrelated data to the Hard Drive, which should get installed to the block of space where GTA V was previously installing. Please try the following: a. Uninstall the game from the Games and Apps folder. Delete everything related to GTA V that is not a save file. b. Clear the system cache, as was described above. c. Install about 7-8GB of unrelated content. If you have your console connected to the internet, the simplest thing here would be to download a bunch of demos from PSN. The content is unimportant, you never even have to play the demos, the point here is to just eat up some hard drive space, and when you reinstall GTA V, force the console to install the game to a section that was not previously used. If you do not have a a connection, installing 10-12 music CDs should use up enough space, although more might be needed. The idea here is to try to use up approximately the same amount of space as GTA V's install, which is about 8.5GB. d. Reinstall GTA V, and see if conditions improve. 7.) Test the game on a second console, or new hard drive. This last step is potentially the trickiest step, depending on alternate hardware availability, but probably the most important step for determining the cause of major issues on any console. That step would be to test the disc on a separate console. If you have a friend or family member with a PS3, we strongly recommend installing the game on their console, and see if issues persist. If you continue to have issues, please let us know the following: The model of your Playstation 3 The size of your hard drive, How much free space is available The contents of any error code, if applicable. If possible, please submit a screen shot of any error messages, or give the presice wording of the error. Please also provide us with a detailed summary of which of the above steps you were able to try, and details on what effects they had. Additionally, if you were able to try it in another console and the same issue occurred, please provide the model/HD size, etc. of the second system you tested the game on. Once we receive this information, we will continue to investigate. Best Regards, Chad They are not even addressing the actual problem . They dont even know what causes it or how to avoid it . We are left to fend for ourselves . R* has become a complete joke with this latest installment they call gta . They may be laughin now but we will be the ones laughin when gta 6 comes out and sales tumble . -
Yeah hopeful bro,but i also love the way the 3 GTA Era are reboots but only uses Brands it shows that there something uniting them plus Lazlow is a multiverse character(that doesnt count)...GTA and GTA 5 are great and they both in the HD Era(Universe) but i am sure GTA 6 will also be in the same Era but on next gen
-
GTA have 3 Rebooted Universes(Eras) corresponding to the 3 Generations (PS1,PS2/Xbox,PS3/Xbox360)so no it cant happen, and Rockstar said this like years ago,so no need for this thread at all

For gods sake.. is it so hard to understand that events from SA NEVER HAPPENED IN V. They rebooted the series, reimagined the cities and decided to rebuild Groove Street just as a nod to SA, and probably made it Ballas territory just to f*ck with your mind since they knew a lot of kids would be asking this same question. There was never CJ in this story, Families could have inhabited Groove Street but it is completely unimportant to them now, in this story so get over it.

You're right about autosave. Mine is off. Have not experienced one glitch in the game. While I come to this forum daily and see on Youtube, millions of people having glitches and things getting deleted, etc. Plus, I don't save it anymore, so I just turn my system off and reboot, everything is the way I left it (as it should be, with nothing gone) i have 3 seperate game files that i save to from time to time , then i never lose anything of value . i learned to start shutting off the autosave feature in games after i played skyrim years ago

I can not confirm the validity of the information in that post but I can confirm the post was real and was removed very quickly by R* within minutes of the screen grab, as you can see I edited out the hash stuff for obvious reasons, the only other thing that can be confirmed is that it wasn't just the cloud servers that went down at the weekend but the entire R* site was offline. Updated 11/16/13 3:30 PM ET: There was a brief Cloud service outage today and we are looking into the issue further. Please reboot your console to make sure you are entering GTA Online with full connection to Cloud Servers. http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200426246 like I said, this may be a prank but you can never be too certain and it's always best to be safe than sorry.
