This is what they told me. To be clear, I did everything in here and even told them I've done so. It's like they didn't even read. Thank you for contacting R* Games Support. We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with one of our titles. Below you will find some Console Troubleshooting steps which may help resolve the issue. These are the official troubleshooting steps provided by Sony on their support site: Before troubleshooting, please check the following: 1. Turn the console off and on. 2. Unplug all power cords and accessories, and then plug them back in firmly. Make sure all connections are secure. 3. Update your console software. Clearing the Game Data Utility: 1. In the XMB home menu, go to (Game) > [Game Data Utility]. Important: Make sure you select [Game Data Utility]. Do NOT select [saved Data Utility], as this will delete all of your saved games files. 2. Highlight the game data utility file (i.e., name of a particular game you have been playing) you wish to delete. 3. Press the button and select [Delete]. 4. Highlight "Yes" and press the button to confirm the deletion. 5. A message indicating the file is being deleted will appear. 6. A "Delete completed." message will appear once the file has been successfully deleted. 7. Once all of the files have been deleted, go back to the XMB home menu. 8. Reboot the game. If this is still happening let's try this on a second PS3 to see if the same issue is occurring. Best Regards, Michael S.

I think I understand to a degree why in game and the social club are so different, and a few have pointed it out in this thread, but it took me to actually look at my own game and see for myself. In game the stocks only show a range of 5 hrs. Social club is a week. Is it really that simple? I wonder why they did that? So I am just going to create a new save just in-case, invest everything I have right now, reboot my console and just keep playing in my original save with my investments....until Monday
-
Try signing in and out of XBL/PSN. That seems to update things for me. Rebooting the game seems to help too.

Why are people so resistant to the different universes? It's like people seriously think reboots don't exist in an age that is plauged by reboots and remakes...
-
That is abysmally pathetic. You're doing it wrong. But I'm not surprised, you were born in 1997. You probably don't know what the stock market is. Hey! Don't judge someone by their age! If someone doesn't understand the concept of the stock market, that's their problem and we should help them out. How about we don't resort to petty insults, eh? As for me, I'm currently experiencing a $2.25m profit after rebooting the game and allowing the market to update with the latest prices. If things go as planned, by Monday I'll have made a VERY tidy sum of money! Thank you OP! Without you, I, along with many others, wouldn't have noticed this fantastic opportunity! I think many of us have been confused with Bawsaq and unwilling to take a risk. Thanks for making things clear for us all! That kid got 5% back on their investment, that's pretty good. It just isn't a big amount as they don't have much capital to start with. I have 700 million right now, and that 5% would gain me 35 million, so I think that kid is doing well. And thanks for the appreciation, I've gotten a lot out of this forum the last year or so and am glad I can contribute in a big way at last. Just be sure to pass the word, the biggest gains come with this run going viral. Oh don't worry, I'm spreading the word! Social media, word of mouth... this info will be passed on to anyone who'll listen! All credit goes to you of course! I've posted it on the Official Playstation Community forums too!

Yes well if that's the case then apparently has figured out how to travel from universe to universe, You cannot ignore the fact that there are other variables that confuse the whole "universe" thing. Only variable confusing the whole "universe" thing is your deficiency of brain cells. How is it that people can understand when Batman or Superman gets a reboot, but they can't f*cking understand it when GTA gets a reboot?

The Stock Exchange Information Thread (WIP)
navilin replied to The Nefarious Jester's topic in GTA V
yeah... i will continue my rampage aswell to see if i can raise the stock a bit more. you say your Hijak is at 177 right? can you please tell me the all time highest and lowest price? its strange because my low/high price is 3 / 26 They flip flop the prices. Take for example my game AirEMU is high is 18.67 low is .16 (some how I missed it at .16 would have made tons) and my flyUS is 105.36/49.7. They basically make one or the other strong/weak (they dont change the stock details because mine says FlyUS is the outdated company that cant keep up yet keeps gaining). I also think that there are set patterns but the stock is different each game. Do you currently have a stock priced around 3.50$? In my save ECola goes up and down from 3.50-4.50 all day long not even a full game save. I buy at 3.50 sell at 4~ profiting a couple million. It has also been putting the ECola stock back to near the low everytime I console reboot. If you can notice this pattern in your 3~ stock we might be able to start listing the patterns based on price and people can apply it in game to the company that has this value and pattern. That is to say I think there are a set number of high and low end stocks and the patterns they hold potentially could be similar which could be exploited. As for the people trying to make 50% gains it doesnt see like the player has influence over making this happen. If you are patient and use your brain its very easy to make make gains. You get 25-30 million to work with at the end even a 1% gain is 300,000$. I think that is the best bet. Find the price that has the same pattern over basing it off companies specifically. While the rivals do seem to switch between roles as either being high and low the others seems to take on one of the price sets randomly. So realistically company based comparison is only possible on the basis of rivals. -
PLEASE REBOOT THE THREAD. =] Thanks
-
This thread should be rebooted with a main first post including a guide. So we don't continually have all to the newcomers asking the same stupid questions because they can't read. Please, someone put together a guide. If you are, I tracked all of my stock purchase history and can give that data to you. I am at 2.2billion right now. I keep coming to this thread looking for NEW tips, not the same old discussion. Thanks-
-
It's an interesting question. I can honestly say I didn't enjoy it, in fact i wish i didn't have to take part in it to advance. But why? As others have mentioned you commit the ultimate act of killing innumerable times so why should this bother me? It's a similar question to why people went mental at the prospect of Lara Croft being potentially raped in the Tomb Raider reboot and the Hotline Miami 2 rape.

How many people are having major problems with GTA V?
DaMan5one8 replied to Poker2012chu's topic in Help & Support
I wanted to update my situation.....10 month old slim with HDMI......I got the game on day 1 and it kept freezing on bike repo mission, the first real mission of the game. It would freeze in the same exact spot each and every time. I was going out of my mind. I finally went out and got a new copy (@Walmart) thinking, after reading this thread, that it wouldn't change a thing, but I have been playing for 6 hours now and haven't had a single freeze, crash or reboot at all!!!!!!!!!! I still won't forget about all of you and will continue to voice my concerns about the problems with this game to rockstar and whoever else will listen as I had an awful 7 days of anger and frustration that will not be soon forgotten. -

Please disregard, I rebooted the xbox and now it's finally working. If there is a way to delete this post, please let me know, or if an admin sees it please delete for me. Thank you!

I had this happen once a few days ago - rebooted the game, problem went away.

CarLuver, CoD delivers 4 map packs, zombie content, all kinds of stuff, they are continually putting more content per game every year. Rockstar could give you one new map and story every 2 years and a few content updates intermediate between for Online and they would still pale in comparison to what Activision delivers. Alongside that new map and story, comes its addition to GTA Online and the online world there. Maybe GTA VI comes along and delivers a new map, by itself, and access to GTA Online including LS and the new map, stuff like that. It's a lot of speculation, but as much evidence as you've seen for PC version and stuff, i can speak just as much at length to everything that has been said on the record about GTA Online, and this is their step into the MMO world when it comes to this GTA universe, this is their step into ongoing relationships with consumers - not just title to title, but expansion to expansion - direct marketing, ingame purchasing and delivery - more money for them, and thus better support for us. Their words, if you read all official information on GTA Online, they are going to keep this going - this is NOT something to be replaced by the next GTA, on the contrary, it is far, far more likely to deliver the next GTA, you are far more likely to get updates to GTA Online than actual GTA games from now on. This is something they have hinted at and wanted to do and worked at for a long time, it's finally happening, they are changing from a game series to a persistent universe, they are changing from 1 shot releases, to an ongoing development, updates delivered alongside of new content. You'll get introduced to new places for GTA ONline through single player stories - you'll get 2 weeks with the content in the blockbuster sense we are used to, then they'll add it to Online. And Online will be fueled and built up, off of things we are "introduced to" and then "set free in with our friends" Read all the Online stuff, bear this speculation in mind - it's gonna be awesome! They also already said it's going to be more like seasonal tv than movies now - a huge hint that more and more stories and locations are on their way. They will stay in los santos a while, maybe bring back Liberty faster, or wait longer and start with Vice - within a couple years, there will be a full on new location in Online, which brings with it its own single player experience. Soon, you won't have a 20 or 30gb GTA install, GTA Online is gonna be a 100gb masterpiece within 5 years. It will upgrade throughout to keep with the times and get texture packs and such perhaps, and will reboot in about 10. Get better and better over time, but "revolutionize" again in about 10 years. a year or two per location, lots of events, lots of content keeping it fresh, and then boom, new location, repeat. For sure? f*ck no. But they are morons if they don't do it like that. Depending on a lot of factors, GTA V can grow to include SF and LV, then add a NEW LC, a new VC of course, then go back and start making LS new again - it can roll over like that forever, and the way they described it, led to this speculation. It's not out of thin air, now that you hear it, you can probably see it. Eventually, more and more will be on their cloud, too. How long until games are streamed over Steam OS whether we like it or not? Lol. There are lots of short term up sides to the information I've dumped in this thread, but they also have a lot of long term downsides for all of us, that may be outweighed by unforeseen upsides though.

Game becomes Unstable after hours of continuous play!
Scar3dGam3r replied to sultangris's topic in GTA V
I was having problems with game sound disappearing underneath water until I surfaced again, accompanied by a little lag. Saving and rebooting solved the issue. -
it was not accessible when i did that mission either unfortunately. I figured out what was wrong with my stock page, and all the other little problems, the game becomes unstable after hours of continuous play and more and stranger things begin to happen, i rebooted and everything is normal again, lol
-
Ive discovered that lots of my problems are stemming from playing too long at a time. i shut my ps3 off and restarted it and they went away. I was able to jack cars and the cops never bothered me unless i shot someone, my stock market was all screwed up and the portfolio page didnt match markets page. Micheals garage door wouldnt open and when i walk into it from the house it was empty when there shouldve been two cars in there. Pedestrians would instantly call the cops or try to kill me if i stood next to them and didnt do anything aggressive towards them at all. After a mission i got out of the car and jimmy appeard in my seat and started driving 2 feet then got out and was talking to me. a random guy was just standing my driveway not doing anything. tons of little weird things like that started happening. it was like the game got me confused with someone else because the cops were always chasing and crashing into the guy right behind me, lol! The reset seemed to fix it so if anyone else is having unexepected weird things happen i suggest a reboot, should cure it.

Xbox 360 - Game Keeps Freezing on Franklin's 1st Mission
Maggot Army replied to MeatButcher's topic in Help & Support
Just joined to add another failed story. I've got a 2007 model sent back for the notorious RROD. I picked up the game about 5 days ago and had no problems with the install or even doing the prologue or Franklin's first mission . I cruised around the vast expanse of the city for about an hour or so and it finally froze. Rebooted and froze within about five minutes. Rebooted again and same thing. sh*t. I resorted to some online advice and saw that this wasn't only a problem with our old and weathered Xboxes. PS3 and some of the newer xboxes are experiencing this as well. So, I deleted all of my save info etc and reinstalled and started again. Again, I got through the prologue and Franklin's mission flawlessly. As soon as I started the bike repo misson it started to freeze again at about the five to ten minute mark again. I figured that it was my xbox so I through in a Skyrim and a few other games and had zero problems. I initially thought that it might be a hardware issue and my xbox might be getting hot, but I figured that about an hour of Skyrim would at least prove this to be true. I was so pissed I just left the game in the drawer for a few days and decided I would return it to the store when I myself cooled off. Last night I finally decided to exchange the game for a new one and did so with little hope. I didn't even bother to reinstall or delete anything. Just popped it in and started the countdown to freeze thirty. An hour goes by and nothing. Cool. Another hour goes by....hell yeah even better. I blow through the bike repo mission and another mission where I help out Tonya or whatever her name is. I kidnap D and my confidence starts to actually build. I take to the beach and jump on a four wheeler and BOOM....there she goes. The fun machine takes a sh*t and dies. Reboot...freeze. Reboot....freeze. Skyrim, no problem. Black Ops 2....no problem. I put my hand on my xbox and it's really not that warm at all. Makes no sense. If MS is right and it's not a hardware issue then good ol R* needs to at least reimburse us fully, or put this stupid app sh*t to the side and focus more on fixing the problem on why we all bought the game to begin with. I really don't give a sh*t about customizing my car from my phone or playing with Chop. Whoopity doo. It's Monday, so I hope that someone there at least took part of their weekend and put a little effort into helping us all out. This is just ridiculous. And if it's not a problem with R* and it's actually on MS's end....then we shouldn't have to pay them to upgrade or "fix" our consoles. We didn't tell them to put now outdated guts in our systems. I for one won't be going out and buying a new xbox just to play this game....that's just crazy. I've done my part and sent R* as much info as I can and will hope that a patch comes or some sort of good news at least. Although, I do have a looming fear that we will all get the shaft -
How many people are having major problems with GTA V?
R.R replied to Poker2012chu's topic in Help & Support
I finished the game days ago dude and have had zero problems. People are having issues from the start of the game all the way through to the end, the only thing that seems to be tied to how far into the game you are is the Strip Club. Actually, I lie - I did have one little bug tonight. Was in Michaels house, surfing the net on his phone, when the net crashed and he was stuck looking at his phone screen. Could run around, get in cars, and drive, but nothing else. Reboot the game and all was good. -
Xbox 360 - Game Keeps Freezing on Franklin's 1st Mission
Vulgar_Monkey replied to MeatButcher's topic in Help & Support
Hi, Just signed up to add to the discussion after reading the (apparently inaccurate) story on kotaku. I've had no problems at all myself, but that in itself should help rule out some false positives. Mine is a late 2008 model, and due to the wonders of unemployment I'd ended up doing 12+ hour sessions all week, must have 75+ hours on the clock now. So suffice to say overheating shouldnt be an issue either. I did have a single freeze up during a character switch cutscene, but a reboot fixed it fine. So yeah, it sounds like you're on the right track with querying the installation process and different drives. Mines a 60gig if that helps. Good luck everyone. -
How many people are having major problems with GTA V?
DaMan5one8 replied to Poker2012chu's topic in Help & Support
It's been 6 days since purchasing GTA 5 and I am losing my mind, time, sleep and in the process, all hopes of playing this game. Let me start by saying that I have an Xbox slim, purchased for as a gift for me, last december @ Wal-mart as a Skylander bundle and given to me for christmas. My kids bought me this, because they knew that GTA 5 would be coming and my Xbox had died of the RROD. So, this freezing issue is not just happening to the older machines. I also do have an HDMI port and have tried this as well as every other method described by posters here; Installing Disc one to HDD, to USB(3 new USB's in total), installing disc 2, not installing and Etc. I also have a 4gb slim, but took my old HDD and opened it and added it to my slim. In the beginning I was freezing on the very first words of the game ( 9 years pre...), but eventually got to franklins safehouse only to have it start freezing there as soon as I would leave his bedroom. Many reinstalls later, I was able to save at his house and can now respawn there, but only after a reboot from a crash as it will not reload after a crash. Now I get kicked back to the load up screen at the same spot each and every time, which is during the first real mission where Lamar and Franklin are going to repo the Bike. It happens right where the cut scene should initiate as Franklin should start opening the garage door or as I read in the walkthrough book at work. I also read that if you failed a mission 3 times, that you could skip it, so I thought I would try that out and see if I could finally get past this. After driving my car through the fence and failing this the required 3x's I got that option and accepted it......but it keeps going back to this mission!?! I am really losing my mind and my patience has already left a while ago.........I am also out of $60 and ROCKSTAR NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!! I know that they don't want this problem to get to much coverage, so they will probably ignore us as long as they can, so they can keep selling their faulty game. We need to use these forums and our words to pressure for a fix. I wish us all luck towards a day when we can all enjoy this purchase, which will be my final if something is not done soon!!! -
I caved in and got gta 5 yesterday, and i played for a few hours and all that happened was a couple freezes. but now, i can't progress in any missions. everytime i get near the mission objective, weird things start happening. such as not being able to open my phone, not being able to shoot my weapon, people around me not moving, and not even being able to pause the game! also if I go into the proper building for my mission, nothing is triggered. I have to constantly reboot and it just keeps happening. any advice? i really would like to enjoy this game but i cant right now
