No spoiler explanation. Trevor and Floyd are told to get into the "Handler" for loading cargo. I cannot climb the ladder. I cannot get in it. I can climb all over it, I can drop from the roof to the door but I cannot enter the cab to drive. (i assume I am supposed to drive). I am stuck. The only option I have left is to reboot the whole game and start over...this really stinks Rockstar...Has anybody else run into this problem? Am I not doing it right? after at the minimum of 400hrs on various GTA games I don't think I am doing it wrong.

ah there was a guide on this, i didnt see it. i just posted one up on the other thread. ive done this just this second, and its worked. for xbox 360 try the usb guide above. before i did this, i played gta with the odd restart till around 20% completion. right after that milestone, i couldnt even get to a mission, let alone do a mission, before my 360 would freeze up and force me to reboot it. now i have done this, installing the 2nd disc (play) to a usb flash drive. ive managed to do a mission and play around 50 minutes so far. for now im going to sleep but i will do more testing tomorrow aswel. i think this will cure a vast majority of peoples 360's freezing. im actually seeing higher fps aswell. the load times between each character has improved drastically as well as the initial game loading. I believe very strongly, the optical drive is at fault, gta is pushing xbox to its limit and for me a 4mps read speed dvd drive is no where near as good as gta requires.

yeah... i will continue my rampage aswell to see if i can raise the stock a bit more. you say your Hijak is at 177 right? can you please tell me the all time highest and lowest price? its strange because my low/high price is 3 / 26 They flip flop the prices. Take for example my game AirEMU is high is 18.67 low is .16 (some how I missed it at .16 would have made tons) and my flyUS is 105.36/49.7. They basically make one or the other strong/weak (they dont change the stock details because mine says FlyUS is the outdated company that cant keep up yet keeps gaining). I also think that there are set patterns but the stock is different each game. Do you currently have a stock priced around 3.50$? In my save ECola goes up and down from 3.50-4.50 all day long not even a full game save. I buy at 3.50 sell at 4~ profiting a couple million. It has also been putting the ECola stock back to near the low everytime I console reboot. If you can notice this pattern in your 3~ stock we might be able to start listing the patterns based on price and people can apply it in game to the company that has this value and pattern. That is to say I think there are a set number of high and low end stocks and the patterns they hold potentially could be similar which could be exploited. As for the people trying to make 50% gains it doesnt see like the player has influence over making this happen. If you are patient and use your brain its very easy to make make gains. You get 25-30 million to work with at the end even a 1% gain is 300,000$. I think that is the best bet. Find the price that has the same pattern over basing it off companies specifically. While the rivals do seem to switch between roles as either being high and low the others seems to take on one of the price sets randomly. So realistically company based comparison is only possible on the basis of rivals.

I think I understand to a degree why in game and the social club are so different, and a few have pointed it out in this thread, but it took me to actually look at my own game and see for myself. In game the stocks only show a range of 5 hrs. Social club is a week. Is it really that simple? I wonder why they did that? So I am just going to create a new save just in-case, invest everything I have right now, reboot my console and just keep playing in my original save with my investments....until Monday

Early production runs of the Xbox 360 are equipped with a 12x DVD drive, capable of a maximum read rate of 15.85 MB/s this would suggest that early xbox's will have the Hitachi GDR-3120L dvd drive in the system. as above a maximum of 15.85mbs read speed. newer systems came with a much better dvd drive than the one above. I played the game for pretty much 30 hours without any problems, but around 40% in the game it started to freeze at random moments. Now I can't even play for more than 10 minutes before it freezes. I've noticed the blu ray drive is making a lot of noises (like it's loading constantly), but since it is working with all my other games I came to the conclusion it must be the disc somehow. Then I went away for the weekend and played the same disk on a different ps3 and a different house with a different router but same account, it worked perfectly again. Then when coming to play it on my ps3 (the ps3 which I played it 3 times on, the original one) with the same router i did before. It got to the "loading story mode" screen where it has a loop of pictures and gives information about the game. This is where it goes wrong, it does not go on further than this it just keeps loading. Nothing is frozen the symbol in the bottom right hand corner is still spinning but does not go into the game. I cleaned the disk, and cleaned the ps3 laser with a cleaning disk. I first thought maybe it would be a scratch on the disk but that would make the game freeze if I'm correct? (There is no scratches on the disk) I thought it might of been my ps3 so I tried other games and they all worked perfectly. Then I went back to the 2d ps3 which I played it on to make sure. It worked perfectly. So before I left I deleted the saved data utility and game data utility (I didn't mind because I wasn't very far). I got back to the first ps3 to try it again! It again did the exactly the same thing.... I don't know what to do now and don't really want to buy another disk because someone (my girl friend...) threw away the recite! Earlier today i was just free roaming and decided to get my car out from Franklin's Grove St garage to customize it, on my way to LS Customs the radio switched off and then the mini map starting looking all weird, textures started messing up then BAM, the game completely froze again. I put the game on again a little later after that incident, i was free roaming, everything running smoothly, then i went back to the garage to take the exact same car out, drove to LS Customs, this time it let me customize the car, but straight after i took the car back out the radio switched off, and once again, the game crashed. It's an interesting question. I can honestly say I didn't enjoy it, in fact i wish i didn't have to take part in it to advance. But why? As others have mentioned you commit the ultimate act of killing innumerable times so why should this bother me? It's a similar question to why people went mental at the prospect of Lara Croft being potentially raped in the Tomb Raider reboot and the Hotline Miami 2 rape.

This thread should be rebooted with a main first post including a guide. So we don't continually have all to the newcomers asking the same stupid questions because they can't read. Please, someone put together a guide. If you are, I tracked all of my stock purchase history and can give that data to you. I am at 2.2billion right now. First time ever writing in a forum and this is out of complete anger and frustration!?! It's been 6 days since purchasing GTA 5 and I am losing my mind, time, sleep and in the process, all hopes of playing this game. Let me start by saying that I have an Xbox slim, purchased for as a gift for me, last december @ Wal-mart as a Skylander bundle and given to me for christmas. My kids bought me this, because they knew that GTA 5 would be coming and my Xbox had died of the RROD. So, this freezing issue is not just happening to the older machines. I also do have an HDMI port and have tried this as well as every other method described by posters here; Installing Disc one to HDD, to USB(3 new USB's in total), installing disc 2, not installing and Etc. I also have a 4gb slim, but took my old HDD and opened it and added it to my slim. In the beginning I was freezing on the very first words of the game ( 9 years pre...), but eventually got to franklins safehouse only to have it start freezing there as soon as I would leave his bedroom. Many reinstalls later, I was able to save at his house and can now respawn there, but only after a reboot from a crash as it will not reload after a crash. Now I get kicked back to the load up screen at the same spot each and every time, which is during the first real mission where Lamar and Franklin are going to repo the Bike. It happens right where the cut scene should initiate as Franklin should start opening the garage door or as I read in the walkthrough book at work. I also read that if you failed a mission 3 times, that you could skip it, so I thought I would try that out and see if I could finally get past this. After driving my car through the fence and failing this the required 3x's I got that option and accepted it......but it keeps going back to this mission!?! I am really losing my mind and my patience has already left a while ago.........I am also out of $60 and ROCKSTAR NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!! I know that they don't want this problem to get to much coverage, so they will probably ignore us as long as they can, so they can keep selling their faulty game. We need to use these forums and our words to pressure for a fix. I wish us all luck towards a day when we can all enjoy this purchase, which will be my final if something is not done soon!!!

I finished the game days ago dude and have had zero problems. People are having issues from the start of the game all the way through to the end, the only thing that seems to be tied to how far into the game you are is the Strip Club. Actually, I lie - I did have one little bug tonight. Was in Michaels house, surfing the net on his phone, when the net crashed and he was stuck looking at his phone screen. Could run around, get in cars, and drive, but nothing else. Reboot the game and all was good.

Hi, Just signed up to add to the discussion after reading the (apparently inaccurate) story on kotaku. I've had no problems at all myself, but that in itself should help rule out some false positives. Mine is a late 2008 model, and due to the wonders of unemployment I'd ended up doing 12+ hour sessions all week, must have 75+ hours on the clock now. So suffice to say overheating shouldnt be an issue either. I did have a single freeze up during a character switch cutscene, but a reboot fixed it fine. So yeah, it sounds like you're on the right track with querying the installation process and different drives. Mines a 60gig if that helps. Good luck everyone.

i had one massive issue, at the O'Neills farm there was no jerry can at the green spot. i redid the mission a couple of times but it still wasnt there. only after a reboot it finally appeared. also, i have a problem with the saves, like someone said above. on two of my saves the stripclub ist working and franklin got trapped there aftere the jewerly heist

It makes sense for two reasons: 1. The didn't want to explain how the cities changed so much and they certainly wanted to make much bigger cities than those in 3D era. So it was either use the same cities with small changes or scrap them and reimagine them as new ones that are much better. 2. They didn't want to be bothered with the old story. They would have to somehow explain why has the situation with different mafia families in LC changed, or what happened to gangs... and that is also tied to the city layout. So just scrapping all of that as ''old universe'' and rebooting the series was the most logical choice. That gave them complete freedom to make new cities and new stories without having to worry about continuity. It's just that.. a reboot.

I work a M-F job and I decided I'm gonna work the longest day of my life on the 17th and pick up the game during lunch break. I took Wed and Thurs. off for my vacation to Los Santos and I'm gonna go to work Friday to reboot and make sure I can still function in real society before the weekend where I will undoubtedly play the whole time.

Calm down you f*cking fanboys. OP, the way I see it - the GSF and Ballas aren't family names like the mob families in III. They're more of a title or brand name, like Burger Shot - which can cross over. So since they're not tied to a family, they can cross over and exist in multiple universes since characters can't cross - but names and brands can. Like the Liberty City Police Department, they are in III and IV - but that's because they aren't tied to a specific person. So it doesn't really break the rules of the whole universe thing Rockstar has made apparent. GSF and Ballas will be in V, but I'm 100% they will be run by different people. So there's no Sweet or CJ, that's for the 3D Universe. EDIT: Haha, god dammit. Dope_0110 just posted the same thing. Anyways, this is more than likely the reason Rockstar brought them back. There's no reason to come up with a new gang title, or city, or state - when Rockstar is just remaking it. Keep in mind IV was a reboot, and V is a continuation of that.

Agreed I have been a huge fan of GTA since GTA 1 on pc. I loved SR1 and SR2 the reason 3 Sold as much was because of the the Original Fans with the new fans that they picked up. SRIV will suffer is because a lot of the original SR fans hated SRTT and the way SRIV looks. It has been said that SRV will be a reboot and they are going back to their Roots which would make a much better game. As far as competition with GTA SR will never compete. If they go back to their roots they will make a good game that will at least be playable and then they can compete with Watchdogs. They will never touch the GTA series. SRTT would have been a great game for me at 14 but at 29 it was stupid in my opinion.

I predict that Saints Row V will be a reboot, perhaps even the end of IV will act as it because there's basically no where else they can take these characters or world after this one. EDIT: And I just bumped I topic that I previously asked as to why it was still open...

What's the multiplayer like? Can you compare it to another game? Uncharted? Max Payne 3? Splinter Cell: Conviction? Tomb Raider Reboot?

Okay, I had to stop reading... But as already said IV wasn't a sequel to San Andreas, it was a sequel to III and a reboot where they started over basically from scratch. Anyone who expected something like San Andreas 2 is an idiot. While I do think a lot of reviewers over rated IV a bit it doesn't change the fact that in a lot of ways it was a significant improvement over the last generation GTAs. Could V be a disappointment? Sure. It could turn out to be the biggest flop and disaster of this generation but I cannot see Rockstar allowing that to happen. They'd make their employees work 20 hour days, chained to their desks with caffeine being consumed intravenously to make sure that didn't happen! I'm sure they're all glad that they're all pretty much done or nearly so at this point.
