The Independence Day Special (In association with Ammu-Nation)
Chukkles replied to WildBrick142's topic in GTA V
Did you check the military site and Ammunation? Yes war stock cash and carry. It's not there? Oh I seem to have lost it from my single player game too. Reboot. I'll report back. When I buy it I'm going to spend the rest of my money. I've spent 3 mil on cars and eclipse tower. It's not there, wtf? I already played with it in SP yesterday and now the update just isn't registering at all, re download. Ok that worked, I really hate these limited time downloads. Make everything available. -
DLC/Update 1.15 Problems Topic.
Goin For The Gusto replied to SirJohnnyStark's topic in Help & Support
When it says to click "ok" to update, I do, then the screen goes black and nothing, it just sits. I unplugged my PS3 once from the back, rebooted, then it did it again, I have let it sit for 10 mins, nothing, just a blank black screen. Anyone else having issues? -
Hello, i came here to ask if anybody had problems with GTA V first mission where you after robbing a bank, shooting down some cops and then entering a car, and after cops shoot down your friend (driver) they push him out of the car and when it comes to you to driver the car, the whole console and game freezes. I have to reboot the console to start everything again, tried rebooting, tried clearing cache, installing again, Nothing works. I have Xbox 360 (4gb) 2011 with HDMI port (i have connected an external space 32gb) . I play on old school TV with no HDMI. Did anyone had/has this problem and could help me on trying to fix it? (Sorry for my bad english)

Today I got an answer from tech-support ! Nothing we havn't tried allready.. Hello, We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with how the cars are spawning on your PlayStation 3. Let's see if we can change how the random car generator picks which ones to spawn with the steps below. Before troubleshooting, please check the following: a. Turn the console off and on. b. Unplug all power cords and accessories, and then plug them back in firmly. Make sure all connections are secure. c. Update your console software. 1.) Clearing the Game Data Utility: a. In the XMB home menu, go to (Game) > [Game Data Utility]. Important: Make sure you select [Game Data Utility]. Do NOT select [saved Data Utility], as this will delete all of your saved games files. b. Highlight the game data utility file (i.e., name of a particular game you have been playing) you wish to delete. c. Press the button and select [Delete]. d. Highlight "Yes" and press the button to confirm the deletion. e. A message indicating the file is being deleted will appear. f. A "Delete completed." message will appear once the file has been successfully deleted. g. Once all of the files have been deleted, go back to the XMB home menu. h. Reboot the game. You should be prompted to reinstall. **Please note, if the game freezes during installation, please check the following article: http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200195537-Freezing-during-GTA-V-installation- 2.) Ensure your PS3s firmware is up to date (settings > system update - on the main menu). 3.) Restore File System If it is up to date then once again delete the game data. Next follow the steps below: a. Turn off Playstation®3. b. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again. c. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps d. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button. e. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button f. The Recovery menu will pop up. g. Select Restore File system h. Repeat and Rebuild Database 4.) Install the game to a new section of the Hard Drive. Another possible troubleshooting step would be to attempt to install the game to a new section of the hard drive. Typically, when installing, and reinstalling games, the system will attempt to reinstall over the same block of space on the HDD. While there is no function to manually force the game to install on a different block of space, there is one possible workaround that might force the game to install on a new section. Basically, what we are going to do is uninstall the game, clear the cache, and then install some unrelated data to the Hard Drive, which should get installed to the block of space where GTA V was previously installing. Please try the following: a. Uninstall the game from the Games and Apps folder. Delete everything related to GTA V that is not a save file. b. Clear the system cache, as was described above. c. Install about 7-8GB of unrelated content. If you have your console connected to the internet, the simplest thing here would be to download a bunch of demos from PSN. The content is unimportant, you never even have to play the demos, the point here is to just eat up some hard drive space, and when you reinstall GTA V, force the console to install the game to a section that was not previously used. If you do not have a a connection, installing 10-12 music CDs should use up enough space, although more might be needed. The idea here is to try to use up approximately the same amount of space as GTA V's install, which is about 8.5GB. d. Reinstall GTA V, and see if conditions improve. Best Regards, Mike M. ok guys, I tried it now with a brand new Ps3 with the latest patches installed. No difference at all! As soon as Im able to free roam this stupid bug appears.. The car pattern on the street stays the same until I reboot the console. Then I get a different pattern and I have to reboot again to get another one. Im trying it now with patch 1.6, its really working to just download the first part of the patches and cancel after the first one installed.

We're going on 6 years since it was released, and despite numerous patches and multiple hardware upgrades, the game still runs like I'm at about 70% of the minimum system requirements. It runs well at times, and then it will inevitably require a reboot to correct the memory leaks and general choppiness, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what triggers these issues in any given session. I could never quite get a handle on how best to run the game; every combination of settings and commands and tweaks I tried seemed to make little difference. I've never had this problem with any other game, certainly not for 5 or 6 years. Many people in this thread are saying they had no trouble with IV, or only had trouble when they owned a low-spec PC, but this just proves the point even further - the optimisation is so bad that it only worked well on a very specific set of hardware configurations, a Holy Grail which most of us could never find. A well-optimised game would have the opposite effect, in that it would run well for most people, with only a few suffering persistent performance issues. GFWL is marginally less intrusive and pig-headed than uPlay, but it's very much of the same needless, hateful ilk. The Rockstar Social Club was patched out of the game eventually, which was a pleasant surprise, but before that it was yet another cumbersome, unwieldy, and unwanted chunk of DRM injected into a game which was already dripping with it. The serial number, the online activation of a limited number of keys (and DEactivation! You couldn't even UNinstall the game without permission!) and being forced to keep the game disc in the drive to play it, all driven by the lovely SecuRom, wasn't enough apparently. On top of that, we had to install GFWL, create an account to use it, and then do the same with the Rockstar Social Club, handing over hefty chunks of personal information to two "services" no one in their right mind would opt into, and logging into both of these services at least once each before being allowed to play the game. To get from installing the game to actually seeing the main menu, you'd need to take the day off f*ckin' work. Pirates have to contend with precisely zero of these issues. Playing IV takes real patience, it's an almost vocational pursuit. The enjoyment I get from the game is just barely ahead of the frustration I experience with both the performance issues and being treated like a despised criminal for having the temerity to actually pay for the game. This is why I'm holding off on ordering GTA V. I know MP3 was well-optimised, but I've really had enough of making all of these personal compromises just to play a video game (admittedly uPlay has done the most damage to my mental health in that respect). If the reviewers start mentioning the same kind of sh*t that IV had, be it insane amounts of DRM and/or pervasive performance issues, I'm saving my cash.

Sorry for double post. I've got some guy telling me on support that clearing the cache and rebooting the console should help. vvvv I mean, really? I've done that a billion times already, and it doesn't fix it one bit. I don't know any more. Might just play other games until it gets fixed. If it ever does.

R* broke the "ERA" rule when releasing for Current-Gen.
chrisscorsese88 replied to GTA Master 007's topic in GTA V
Didn't read any of the posts, but when GTA IV was released, Rockstar said they wanted to do a "reboot" for the series, hence the different "eras". So the "HD era" will end when Rockstar says they're doing another "reboot". If they don't say that, it means it's all in the same "HD Universe". -

BLOOD replied to GTA Master 007's topic in GTA V
OP seeing that V is extending the Franchise Lifetime Platforms to 17 (and 4 Generations of Home Consoles) and it an HD Era game,it just shows that the HD Universe will live on forever until maybe a total reboot or they stop making GTA...Now with that said,i dont see a #6 in the Franchise for a while, not now with V's NG Remake...It will be an evolving GTAO,two/three major Spin-off game (within 2015-2020) then GTA6. -

Oh god... The whole ERA thing is just R* trying not to get half the GTA fanbase butthurt over the fact that all your favorite characters are pretty much gone and that GTA 4 was truly a Reboot of the whole series. "era" was just a way to explain it. -
GTA V Metaphors, Philosophy and Hidden Meanings.
NikolaiAmethyst replied to Modified Soul's topic in Guides & Strategies
Definitely not disproving, but i just watched it a few times, definite plane shadow, but from my first view i thought it was one of those that fly over sandy shores, you know one of these types, the tail end looked like what this plane has to me? Sorry i couldn't get a better picture, apparently typing into google 'plane flies over sandy shores' doesn't quite cut it. Also, completely not even game related, i just found out there's going to be a sequel to the tomb raider reboot of last year and i'm more excited than i could possibly put into words. Looks like i'm going to have to bite the bullet and move onto next gen for that and gtav. -
The problem is that you can't simply explain all those things. How in hell do you explain that over a span of only 20 years a big metropolis completely changed it's layout and all the surrounding countyside changed as well? And also, you'd have fans asking what's up with the characters, what happened to each and every one of them and why are they not in the story. Or they'd have to write a story for them just to please the fans and answer those questions. Carrying over those characters only puts a burden on the future stories, so it is much better to scrap them and make it a reboot. Sometimes it's best to have those stories wrapped up and left on the shelf. It's only people like you who have some sort of a problem accepting that this story doesn't have any connections to the previous ones, and a few hints here and there, like graffiti in IV, are just a way of acknowledging their previous work and nothing more than that.
-
"It didn't feel like like they were throwing anything out". So basically you never paid much attention to the story of the 2D era, thus it's OK for them to do the reboot there. 2D era had a huge over arc story of business corruption which had a high point of the Zaibatsu Corp. In GTA2.
-
But Chris, this isn't new to GTA, they already "rebooted" once before hand by wiping out the 2D era with GTA3 onwards. Same exact situation, some things and jokes crossed over, came back as Easter Eggs, etc, but it was done so they could have a new design and story to set up. Just because the 3D era was popular doesn't mean they can't change universes again. That's all this comes down to, long time GTA players are more accepting of it whilst it seems to be fans who jumped on board from the 3D era who seem to be crying most over this.

Grove Street. Home. At least it was before some sh*tty writer who likes to reboot everything because he can't contribute to an ongoing story f*cked everything up. In all seriousness though, I like all of the new stuff that the new GTAs have given us. And while I am completely and totally against separating "universes" and "eras" and all that made-up bullsh*t that even Rockstar acknowledges is illogical, it's not like I want to play as Tommy or CJ or Claude so much that I think everything else is sh*t. I just think that universes is a stupid idea, because they've already made Marvel comics a confusing clusterf*ck, they've already made DC comics a confusing clusterf*ck, they're in the process of turning Star Wars into a confusing clusterf*ck, and the endless stream of reboots, remakes and reimaginings has been turning classic Hollywood into a confusing clusterf*ck for the longest time now. I don't want GTA to turn into another piece of sh*t like the new Robocop movie. When Bob Morton said "Lose the arm," he meant "Lose the f*cking arm, we're trying to build goddamn Robocop, not some sh*tty rip off." All the old stuff could be reintegrated with the new stuff without even bringing back any of the old stuff just by giving us a simple in-story explanation for some of the few minor differences like why Mount Chiliad is located to the north (earthquakes and terraforming), why Grove has different houses (urban renewal), why there's no bridges leading to Venturas or San Fierro (America's crumbling infrastructure) as opposed to a newswire post about how their writers decided to spend a great deal of time coming up with a ton of new stuff for the same old setting and then coming up with the laziest excuse ever for not seeing any old familiar faces. We didn't need a reason, let alone even a good one, but we sure got a Hell of a stupid one.
-
What if it's new Tomb raider ? Played the "Reboot" on PC last year, time well spent.
-
For some reason it's fine when a movie franchise does a reboot, when comic books do a reboot, even when another game franchise does a reboot.. .but WHERE IS CJ????? is all a GTA fanboy must ask around here. I really hoped Rockstar wouldn't include Groove street in the game as it only reinforced their beliefs that somehow CJ once lived there around the time Franklin was born, and should be easy to find, riding his jetpack above the ghettos.
-
People here really don't understand what a series reboot is, do they?
-
Not to mention the MASSIVE GEOGRAPHIC REBOOT of two cities we've already seen in the III era. That should be the undeniable proof if anything. @jp: nice sourcing bro
-
You really can't grasp the fact that with a crossover to HD universe they decided to reboot the story, can't you? There are no 3D universe story characters in HD universe, and never will be. Those stories are over, that timeline is done. This is a new world, with same names for locations and same radio hosts and other celebrities who are in no way important to the main stories of 3D GTAs. But characters won't return in any serious manner, and every little hint to them, like the guys on bikes, are EASTER EGGS. As they say, build a bridge and get over it, CJ is not coming back.
-
You don't know that for sure Rockstar said in the GTA V sneak peek in gameinformer that GTA III protagonists/side characters would not return. Very few cross over, key characters do not. It's a reimagining of the world, not a sibling universe. GTA IV was the reboot for the series, hence the new universe system. @chrisscorsese88: His source is this http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/19861/grand-theft-auto-iii-your-questions-answered-part-one-claude-dar.html @jp9865: source please.

GTA V Metaphors, Philosophy and Hidden Meanings.
SuperMaruoBrassiere replied to Modified Soul's topic in Guides & Strategies
@razgriz67 Yes, Vestra is a fantastic plane. It's fast and extremely light, it turns really quickly, and it is very easy to take off and land. I never was able to chase the jet with the Lazer. I did try it, but when I was in the Lazer the big jet either didn't spawn, or--when I (thought I) did hear it spawn--I couldn't turn around quickly enough to locate and follow it before it disappeared. I'm still using the Vestra now, but now I'm having trouble getting the jet to spawn again. I've been re-loading the same save again and again, but the jet only appeared on that first try. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. :-( I did finally got the Vestra to land on the hill behind the Altruist Camp radio tower though. I know from experience that the big jet regularly spawns if you stand there. I failed a few landings, but then I tried turning off the engines completely and gliding (!!) in. The plane was basically floating in the air when my wheels touched down. Amazing. So now I'm standing on the top of that hill, next to my Vestra, with my sniper rifle out, waiting for the jet. When it appears, I'll jump in the Vestra and chase it again. I hope the Vestra will take off from here though... I quicksaved just in case. EDIT 1: I waited all night on that hill, and the big jet still didn't spawn. I'll reboot my console, load the quicksave, and give it another try. I had absolutely no problem taking off from the top of that hill in the Vestra though. When I decided to leave, it took to the air only a few seconds after I started moving. Honestly, this Vestra is almost better than a jetpack (lol). EDIT 2: After I rebooted my console, the jet started spawning again. I chased it to the east ocean, reloaded my quicksave, and then chased it again, about 10 times. A different color spawned each time--sometimes it was a big passenger jet, sometimes I think it was one of the cargo jets. Anyway, I crashed the Vestra into it, very carefully (ha ha), three different times. My Vestra exploded, but the jet didn't seem to take any damage at all. I also tried to land on top of the jet but I haven't had any luck with that yet (I haven't tried parachuting). It seems to fly about one line below the center mark on the altimeter (it might start higher up on the West coast, and drop a little bit as it passes over the Alamo Sea--not sure about that though), and it always flies to the east and passes directly over the Humane Labs. It seems to be just a tiny bit slower than the Vestra's maximum speed. Anyway, most of this is stuff we already knew. I don't have any new information to add at this point. It still does not look like there's any way to interact with those jets--they basically keep chugging along like the trains. I think I'll try a couple more times with the Lazer before giving up. EDIT 3 (hopefully the last update for a while): I finally got a Lazer parked on top of the hill behind the AC radio tower. It was much harder to land than the Vestra. Eventually I had to land on the next hill (which is flatter) and then slowly drive the Lazer up the path to get to the top. Incidentally, the Lazer is also extremely fast at take-off. Maybe even quicker into the air than the Vestra. The jets did spawn again, so I tried about five times. One time I let the jet fly, and one time I flew past the jet and then lost it. But the other three times, I was able to shoot the jet down. It took at least a few direct missile hits to make the jet fall. As soon as my first missile hit, the jet tried to evade and I got an immediate 3 stars. (So we can interact with the jets a little bit, and they do respond to attacks, just like normal jets.) The first jet I shot down crashed somewhere on the east side of the Alamo Sea. The second crashed by the farms in Grapeseed. The third crashed in the middle of the Alamo Sea. I wanted to land by the wreckage in Grapeseed and look at it before it disappeared, but my Lazer exploded as soon as my wheels touched the ground. I didn't even think about ejecting and parachuting down. Lol. Also, the passenger/cargo jets typically spawned behind me (to the East) after I got into the air, so sometimes I flew right past them. The Lazer is a lot faster than the big jets, so even if you get behind the jet, you have to keep slowing down or else you'll pass it immediately. I think this is why I had so much trouble locating the jets when I used the Lazer last time. I guess the Vestra was too light and small to cause any real damage to the jets. I didn't get any stars when I bumped the Vestra into the jets (even when I didn't explode right away). TL;DR Cargo & passenger jets do spawn regularly above the Altruist camp. They are very easy to locate and chase in the Vestra. If you chase them, they keep flying past the edge of the map, but if you don't stay close enough they disappear. You can shoot them down with the Lazer, but nothing unusual happens when you do. (Unless there's a treasure hidden in the wreckage somewhere! ) Anyway I think I'm gonna take a break. -
There's a bug going around that tends to spawn the same cars over and over throughout the entire map. Could you be suffering from it? You could try rebooting the game a few times to get the cars you want. Best of luck.

I wouldn't give up so soon, after all your game kicked in the ? missions from now-where, it may cause the HS to appear. Do a quick save (in a new or very old slot) then turn of your console. Give the machine a break then power up and load up. If the HS icon isn't present, give the game engine a little exercise by driving around and interacting. Quick save in a new or oldest slot, shut down and reboot. If this doesn't enable to HS icon to pop up, you will need to reload the nearest save you have to the point before this mission started and replay the heist set up.

You shouldn't be able to carry all the weapons...
Fuzzknuckles replied to Mukaparska's topic in GTA V
I'd like a return to the Manhunt style - you can carry one of each weapon type, and you can see them being carried. Similar to RDR. God damn I want a Manhunt HD remake/reboot. Something with the fighting of The Warriors, with the brutality and intensity of the first Manhunt, played out in an open world city the size of Los Santos V2. MAKE THIS HAPPEN, ROCKSTAR.
