If your problem is what I think it is, there is no fix as of yesterday when I called up Rockstar. I've found a solution. Might not work for everyone though. Apparently GTAVlancher.exe causes stutter/fps dips and I found a useful .bat file on a reddit post that will automatically kill the task + set GTAV to high priority w/o having to alt-tab as alt-tab risks mem leakage/crashes or something. I've also enabled adaptive vsync and triple buffering via the nvidia control panel, and using the optimal settings through the geforce experience app w/ all advanced settings off and grass/shadows/postfx on high, tessellation off MSAA X2 w/ TXAA, FXAA off and ingame vysnc off, everyone else Vhigh. No more stutter whilst driving and stable 60fps everywhere w/ exception of a 5-8 fps dip in intense heavy situations like explosions and lots of traffic in city. Just create a text document and drop this into it and save it as "text".bat - start steam://rungameid/271590 timeout 60 taskkill /F /IM GTAVlauncher.exe wmic process where name="GTA5.exe" CALL setpriority "high priority" Hope this works for some of you, on a side note I've seen a few people saying their game would crash up to 30 mins after doing this I think they did the alt-tab method, others have reported no crashes and stutterless gameplay. *I also use gamebooster to free up as much ram/cpu as possible.
