Running into seated people kills them

It would be a nice touch if Rockstar added a burp- and fart button like in GTA II and then making it possible to kill people if you fart them in the face. That is just a further step towards the direction we are heading - Saint's Row.
  2. CarnageRacing00

Stupid arbitrary cheat limitations for no reason.

Then go play something else. what an idiotic excuse of a response Idiotic? No, idiotic is sitting here and whining like a little baby that soiled its diaper because Rockstar haven't made the game exactly as you want it to be. That's life, kid, you can't always have what you want. There is a game for you, however, it's called Saints Row. Go play that and stop bitching. If your mom gave you a plate of dog sh*t for dinner, would you sit there, eating it, saying "GOD DAMN THIS DOG sh*t IS AWFUL *takes another bite* oh it's DISGUSTING *another bite* man this really sucks! *another bite*", or would you look in the pantry for something else to eat?

Songs YOU would want in a radio station DLC or in next-gen/PC

Personally, I don't think the cut Tears For Fears song on VCFM was "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" since it had also been featured on Saints Row 2's own 80s station (The Mix 107.77) at the time. I definitely think "Mothers Talk" is a close call since it's very dance-oriented. At least they managed to get "Pale Shelter" on Wave 103 in VC.

Do any games have a more realistic world, city, physics, AI, and amoun

Who is we? Because I and some other people prefer more realistic games. In Saints Row, and GTA Vice City cars stop even quicker and turn corners quicker compared to GTA IV, and Need For Speed you can take corners faster then Gran Turismo yet pretty much everyone would agree that GTA IV and Gran Turismo have more advanced and better driving that requires more skills. Why not just make it so R* gives players the choice or option, similar to how they have auto or assisted aim for players who are not good at video games and free aim for players who want a more challenging game. Realism =/= challenging. "Yeah! f*ck having fun! Let's make a game that is no different from real life!" - You Yeah and realism in video games = fun and excitement. If not why is it that the top racing, and sports games are games that simulate those events properly? You would honestly find a game that actually simulated bank robberies, gang shootouts, high level drug dealing, pimping, robberies, evading and running from the police to be boring? Just because your real life is boring, doesn't mean that a video game that simulates somewhat realistically events that 99% of the population would not be involved in, would be boring. Who is we? Because I and some other people prefer more realistic games. Gta IV driving is terrible, I can't believe how anyone can say driving in that game is close to realistic. The suspension on cars are like pogo sticks jumping all over The place. I have driven all kinds Of cars in RL and I have never experienced that kind Of body roll, even The stiffest car in IV rolls more than my 77 Cadillac Coupe Deville. And dont get me startes on The buttery Brakes... V is closer to realistic, but far from it, but for a game it is perfect IMO. Yeah I said the game wasn't perfect, but compare GTA IV driving to other free roaming games before it, and it was obviously a lot more advanced compared to the others except for maybe Mafia and it still has the best level of car deformation in the genre.

  8. Obviously a lot of things make this game unrealistic, but do any games do these things better then GTA V does? Realistic world ( amount of traffic, and pedestrians, NPC's activities, animals, dialogue, radio/cinema/tv shows, etc that parodies or simulates the real world? ) Realistic city ( size of city, layout of city, landmarks, different type's of neighborhoods ) Realistic physics ( in terms of humans, vehicles, damage ) Realistic AI ( responding to the player, or going about their business, in shootouts, driving around, etc ) Amount of freedom ( things and activities to do ) Now I have played a bit of open world games. GTA series, Mafia series, ARMA, Operation Flashpoint, Watch Dogs, Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire, Saints Row, True Crime, The Godfather, and seen people stream Sleeping Dogs. Now ARMA and Operation Flashpoint are marketed as simulators, and obviously are more realistic in terms of damage your character and others can take, and in terms of weapon physics, recoiling, weapon sway, player movement, and has a massive world and a lot of freedom, but those games had awful AI, a lot of bugs and the world was empty unless you scripted it or programmed it, and they had awful vehicle movement. The Mafia series, had some realistic features especially Mafia 1 for it's time, Mafia 2 had refueling cars, cops investigating crime scenes, a somewhat realistic story, somewhat realistic vehicle physics, a wanted system which relied on you having to change your appearance or vehicles appearance after losing line of sight from the cops to shake the cops off, it also had a pretty realistic city or world even if it was pretty small and was built off historical events. However it also had pretty bad car damage, the AI was not very smart, your guy could take a lot of shots, and didn't have much to do, and had a small amount of traffic or pedestrians. Watch Dogs, has a pretty good city of Chicago, with some stuff going on, parking lots are filled with cars, a decent amount of traffic, pedestrians or AI is somewhat smart, people call the cops on you if they see you have a weapon, and it even has a "realistic mode" where your guy gets killed in about 2 or 3 shots and the AI is decently smart in shootouts and takes cover and flanks. However it also has no animals, not a lot of activities, pretty much no crimes for you to do in free roam, no TV shows to watch, and a hacked cell phone that controls the entire city, enemies that show up on your screen when hiding behind cover, cops that cannot be shaken off in a car chase or by hiding, awful car damage, awful car handling physics. The Godfather games, don't really remember anything about these games so they probably weren't very good, although I think they had pretty good fighting or melee system. True Crime- Actually had a really good city and map for it's time, True Crime Streets of NYC had a full version of Manhattan if I remember right, even though most streets were the same and they would sprinkle in some landmarks, just about every thing else about the game was pretty bad though and not worth mentioning. Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs- Haven't played Sleeping Dogs but I saw streams of it, and Saints Row are pretty comparable both games are so bad that they don't even try to be serious, they know that they cannot compete with GTA probably because they don't have the budget to make a technically impressive game, so they just try to put in a game with a lot of over the top things to do, as opposed to putting in quality gameplay. In Saints Row the enemy doesn't take cover, they stand in place and shoot and are very inaccurate, car chases are stupid, car handling is about GTA San Andreas level, physics are over the top, AI is very dumb, story is silly, but obviously they do those things intentionally and have now tried to make the game as over the top as possible by turning it into a super hero game. GTA IV, of all the games on this list has the most realistic car handling, and car damage, even though still a lot could be done to make it better, internet and news, it also had a pretty impressive Liberty City even though it was not very big it was still very impressively detailed, also your character could take a bit of shots but wasn't exactly a bullet sponge, early on the story was believable with your character playing as an Eastern European criminal doing somewhat realistic crimes, however the game is now dated compared to GTA V, as it does not have animals, has a small map, no first person mode, a lack of traffic, and the cops AI was not very good, and pretty much no activities to do in free roam, and pretty much no freedom. Red Dead Redemption, this game is probably up there as the most realistic in the genre, they gave you a mode where you have less health that makes the game harder, your guy is not a bullet sponge, the missions aren't all massive shootouts, the story is somewhat based on history, the world is pretty detailed, the game gives you a lot of activities and things to do. Basically this might be the best in the genre, but since it is not coming out on the PC it seems, it's not modable, also it's set in the old west so not exactly a time period that people can relate to. LA Noire, this game was also pretty realistic you play as a detective investigating crimes so you don't really get to many over the top moments in the game and you don't get into to many shootouts, and you have to use your head to play the game, it's also got a pretty good map and a detailed city, however the game pretty much gives you 0 freedom as when your free roaming you hardly have any activities to do, also if I remember right the car handling wasn't very good nor was the car damage. Now let's go to GTA V, the story is not very realistic at all towards the middle or end of the game, the car handling is easier and less realistic and the car damage was turned down, regenerating health was put into the game and your character is more of a bullet sponge, you can carry a lot more weapons, and the enemy AI is way to accurate of a shot. However, the game has one of the biggest maps in the genre, a detailed city, loads of traffic and pedestrians ( compared to the other games ), a lot of activities to do, first person mode, cops that don't crash into street lights on a lot of turns or into other cars when in pursuit of you ( like in GTA IV ), animals, a stock market, all sorts of vehicles to use and more freedom, characters that have families and can interact with other pedestrians, store robberies and many other details. Basically my point is that, GTA V is easily the best open world game in the genre ( and since it's new and comes from a company that makes good free roam games that's to be expected ) but as a crime game it could have been a lot better and the closest thing to a sim if R* had made a few changes, but instead R* decided to go the unrealistic arcade route. This is why I think that GTA V easily has the most potential when it gets modded, turn off regenerating health, make it so your guy has a similar amount of health compared to the NPC's, make it so your characters have low player stats, put in more realistic car damage and handling ( this is something a lot of people are already planning to mod ), make the cops a bit smarter, and put in a few scripts to incorporate some good ideas from other free roam games and you got the closest thing to a simulator in the genre. It's just a shame though, that R* had to dumb down the game because people complained after GTA IV, it was obvious that the direction they took GTA IV and RDR was to make the game get more technically impressive and realistic, but GTA V on the next gen is 2 steps forward ( more activities, freedom, more traffic and pedestrians doing things, animals, better AI, first person mode ) and 1 step backwards ( dumbed down fighting system, regenerating health, and worse vehicle handling and car damage, and stupid over the top story and missions ) in a genre that still needs a real realistic crime simulator.

Do any games have a more realistic world, city, physics, AI, and amoun

Never actually played Sleeping Dogs only saw it on a stream ( unlike the other games on the list ) but on the stream the driving looked like Saints Row and the cars looked like they didn't get damaged and could drive through anything, also the combat looked pretty bad as well.No way man,the combat is awesome n u unlock new moves n combos the more u play n using the environment is crazy like dropping an engine on someone, sticking their face in a fan or throwing them through a huge fish tank lol

Would you like gas in cars in GTA 5 PC?

It has! Just not THIS kind of realism! There is a difference between realism really trying to make game look and feel better and those, which only adds more limitations, rather than freedom of choices...like fueling system!...R* as a developer should acknowledge this and don't cross the line with this one and keep things balanced! Not too silly (Like Saints Row), not too realistic (Like some kind of real life simulator)!...Its very important for a successful open world title to maintain said balance, which stands as a fundamental ground for further improvements! Right now, GTA is the only title, that is more or less succeeds in keeping it that way! I can't say that about other GTA clones and open world sandbox games out there though...

Highlights of Build Logs (from PS3)

Saints Row The Third was 2011! GTAV is 2015! This is very unlikely. It doesn't matter. It needs to have everything,DirectX 9/10 or Last Gen mode for people that don't have powerful rigs(laptops) and maybe for the first wave of ENB's until Boris releases Dx11 one.It should be a perfect PC version of the game.It needs to have a lot of tweakable settings just like the first person mode and Dx9/last gen mode is one of those options .If the game scales from LG to CG on PC(like it should, visually),if it has a lots of different options and it performs well it is telling us that they did a good f*cking job for developing the game for the PC platform and they need to.They had plenty of time for that.I expect perfection in every way.

Things that would improve GTA 5

Online needs to go back to how it was in May when it worked better, and have new content added like new survivals, contact missions, and the casino opened. Since the new gen release of gta5 online works slower and i now can not view snapmatics on the social club from my ps3 browser and save to the hd to view full screen. Single player could be improved big with just one change and that would be to have the safe house garage set up like Mafia 2 and Saints Row 3. All of our regular vehicles would then be available from one place and not the annoying way it is now. Overall gta 5 could be improved in so many ways that i would just rather gta6 be near. Gta 5 is great but it is what it is and it's time to move on and hope Rockstar reads gamer feedback like this forum.
  14. right off the bat number 5 is full of it 5) There is a chance you can walk into a business while another random NPC is robbing it. there's a random event that has enemy npcs holding up a clothing store, mind you it's a one time only scripted event. in Saints Row 2: it was possible for npcs to rob stores randomly.

Would you find going to prison in a GTA game to be fun?

Yeah, well if the prison system and police AI was changed like I said the story would have to change a bit as well. The only games that I can think of that had your guy in prison was Mafia 2 and Saints Row and those were only for mission and was scripted as you couldn't really free roam in it if I remember right. With this idea, your character could be sent to prison at pretty much any time, and maybe the prison and inmates would change depending on how far you are along in the story.
  16. First of all, when people talk about wanting more realism or simulation they still want the game to be exciting. No they don't mean they want you to play as a bootleg movie salesman or commit tax fraud or do boring more common crime. We can even flip this the other way and say that a crime simulator where you played as the police, and had to spend hours standing still at a protest doing pretty much nothing, or had to go on endless domestic violence calls or had to spend a half an hour at a speed trap waiting for cars to come by would be boring as well. And yes, the crimes that are shown in a crime simulator or GTA are immoral and would be controversial and are not something to idolize. However, watching an episode of cops, or gang documentaries, or crime movies, or listening to music about crime all of this showcases or makes it look interesting or exciting. Think about all of the great mob movies or gang movies or movies about cops or robbers, how many of them needed to have massive fake and silly shootouts, or gang members firing RPG's outside of helicopters or any sort of gimmicks that these games had? The more gritty, and believable the movie seems, the better they seem to do. Yet with video games we still have not reached this level. Video games are still stuck at cartoon super hero levels of crime, as opposed to serious gritty levels. A simulator where you played as a SWAT team member or gangbanger or bank robber or pimp or drug dealer or even a crazy pissed off guy who goes on a rampage or any sort of high intensity crime would in no way be boring at all. As a matter of fact, as a simulator it would be way more exciting then a dumbed down game that is simple and easy and doesn't represent these scenarios at all. In just about every sort of genre the best games these days have evolved and tend to go on and be more realistic and try to simulate the activity they represent. Just go on youtube and look at the sim football community who constantly hates on Madden. Loads of commentators who grew up playing and watching football who want an actual game that plays football find flaws and try to tell EA sports how to fix them. Just go on youtube and look at the iRacing, and Project Cars sim racing community. Just go on youtube and look at the amount of PC simulator titles that make simulators out of really niche and somewhat boring things ( like driving big trucks or a bus, or driving in traffic ). Just go on youtube and look at the detailed community of people who realistic first person shooters, games like ARMA which are becoming more and more popular who used to play OFP, project reality, insurgency, red orchestra and many others. Go to operation sports or the EA forums and look at the amount of people upset and disappointed that NHL or EA UFC and other games are not good enough and do not represent the sport properly and have issues. Look at the dedicated boxing fanbase asking for boxing simulators. Look at the fans of MLB The Show who like it because it simulates the sport. Look at how the Skate series which offered much more realistic skate boarding compared to Tony Hawk destroyed that series. Now look at the dead genres. Where are the NBA Jams? The NFL Blitz? Ready 2 Rumble Boxing? Tony Hawk Pro Skater? Why did Saints Row turn in to a joke franchise? Why are the Need For Speed and Test Drive games below and seen as inferior to the Gran Turismo and Forza's? It's because the simulators have evolved and actually represent the activity that the game is about, it shows the skills and strategies that one would need to apply ( and since it's a game the mental aspect matters more as opposed to the physical or the ability to even partake since most people will never actually be able to be a race car driver in real life, or will play pro sports or be a pro boxer, but as a fan of those activities or sports they could atleast play a simulation in a game that someone who is knowledgeable and understands the sport or activity could win ). It's because the simulators are the ones that give the player the most immersion when they play. It's because the simulators are the ones with the best details. So how could a game that simulates, pulling off heists, robbing stores, pimping ho's, being in the gun or drug trade, muggings, or being a cop who stops those crimes be seen as boring, when people love to listen to music or watch movies about those activities, when the majority of players of the game will never do these things in real life, and when they can be simulated and shown as a high risk dangerous activity with a lot of game play going on. Not once has a legit crime simulator came out as far as I am aware. Even a game playing as a police who has to stop crimes that was a simulator and focused on exciting crimes could make for a really great and revolutionary game. Also before anyone says that GTA was never meant to be realistic or a simulator, remember that video game series evolves, when GTA first started out it was a 2D top down view game, probably nobody thought it would turn into a free roam 3D first person game with the world and map it has now in the game. When GTA San Andreas came out, it was obvious the PS2 could not make the world or AI or game play mechanics realistic or quality, so it focused on quantity, the moment R* got better hardware they tried to evolve the gameplay mechanics and make it a bit more realistic for GTA IV and they carried through with this for RDR and for LA Noire as well and eventually dumbed it back down a bit for GTA V. Early sports games didn't start out as simulators either, games weren't able to put in realistic physics engines, or crowds, or game play mechanics. Early boxing games you couldn't even punch on the move, or slip punches at all angles. Early racing games, didn't have good car physics or weather effecting the track and some racing games still haven't even been able to evolve a good car damage system. Tony Hawk games had you skate in crazy places, do crazy tricks that nobody does in real life, do goofy challenges, and got destroyed by a series that made it so people actually had a learning curve and took a while before people could consistently land 360 flips and be able to do certain kind of grinds, and focused more on realistic skateboarding and filming and lines. So why should crime games not evolve? Why should crime games still have you do silly missions where you get into shootouts with 100s of braindead cops and sponge up bullets, with no real repercussions after that? Why is it that crime games are still stuck in super hero mode?
  17. WD is starting to become to V what Saints Row 2 was to GTA IV.

GTA V is a living, breathing world. It makes you feel something.

I remember saints row 2, it was the best out the them all, the gang hideout, being able to customise it and stuff, building your gang. It was really good. 3 wasn't horrible, apart from the characters, jokes, humour and story. 4 though, wow, just wow

GTA V is a living, breathing world. It makes you feel something.

Believe it or not, but Saints Row 2 (and probably first one as well, dunno coz i didn't play that...) doing neat job in that department as well! In saints row 2 city lives too and you can feel it! Many different Idle animations, that random NPCs have really makes you awe! I remember seeing two people sitting on the bench together, smoking in groups talking, playing dices, even cheerleaders dancing, feng shui practicing in park areas etc! All of that was present and very well implemented in Saints Row 2! There were no area in Stillwater, where you wouldn't feel something is going on! People chasing each other, cops fighting, pimps hanging with hos, gangs fighting etc...There were probably the most active area in the game - Red Light District, where right after you exit your hideout (where you usually change dress, weapons, customize crib, gang and stuff like that...) you would immediately encounter something!Thats why it pissed me of, when i found out that Saints Row The Third is not getting anywhere close those level of interactivity! In SR The Third the city is literally DEAD! LOL There are still some idle animations here and there, but it really dropped the ball on that one drastically!

I honestly think some of you just think it's cool to chill in the hood with your homies and then post the pics on this forum. There's no interacting with them, they dont follow you or get into your car. Please explain how you role play with the gang members...cause from what i seen they don't really do much. 1. Thanks for playing the leading reason, single player is declining and they cant bring out DLCs and other sensible fixes for the game. I have friends to play online with, its just very boring. I have tuned cars. I have money but its boring. we have to wait forever for something else to pop off online.. The only good thing to do online is CAR MEETS. missions repetitive. Ima leave it at this.. ONLINE is bullsh*t. 2. Okay Great for you... I bought a game called grand theft auto 5 which was suppose to be criminal based filled with heist because it suppose to be about the mighty dollar. I wanna do criminal activities not go sky diving off mountains. "GRAND THEFT AUTO". 3. I cant get you wrong here.. that sh*t is fun. Period. Ive seen wild animals attack each other but it wouldn't be as fun as watching a Vago and Balla attack each other while their homies get into it and it escalate. Once again - A crime based game - Not animals in the wild "Discovery channel-game". 4. Reread what i said above and exclude the part about the animals attacking each other. and you have the ocean. I really wanna swim around and explore. Great! 5. ???? Okay 6. I never bin interested with that Altruist Camp sh*t cause once again its not crime based. just another thing in the game that made me wonder... what the f*ck was rockstar thinking when they made this game. Who thought that sh*t would be cool for a game like "GRAND THEFT AUTO". 7. I do that too. Only so long before you crash, or get bored. 8. Go buy flight simulator and whatever else helicopter simulator and play that man. Don't get me wrong yeah they cool features to the game but it coulda been better ways to make flying a helicopter or plane fun. Maybe some more trafficking missions. 9. And what do you do with Chop? play fetch, make him attack people? and then what? 10. why you contradicting yourself? Thats exactly what you called "Chill in the hood with your 'boys' as franklin"" brah before you come on this thread with your judging bullsh*t, understand that we wouldn't have to be roleplaying IF the right criminal activities (Robberies, Extortions, Heist, Drive bys, drug dealing, drug smuggling, kidnap and more) WAS IN THE GAME BUT NO - YOGA, TRIATHLON, TENNIS, FLYING UNDER BRIDGES, FINDING PIECES OF PAPERS, NOW FINDING A PLANT TO TRANSFORM INTO A ANIMAL ------ ARE YOU SERIOUS??? BUT THIS SUPPOSE TO BE "GRAND THEFT AUTO". 11. your right here, the hood is boring, you know why? No police chases (On Foot) , No random crackheads fighting, No drug deals, No Robberies, NO DRIVEBYs, NO gang warfare of no kind. If this was happening, like dynamically , you would feel like sh*t is actually happening in the hood. 12. I could never understand why trevor had rampages against gangs and not franklin. I completed these and never played em again. 1 Vs 20+ in god mode sorta? Im good ill pop in Saints row 3 or 4 if i want some fiction sh*t.

10. [/size]why you contradicting yourself? So you're allowed to role play with your boys but I can't role play with chop? At least you can interact with Chop, wtf can you do with the gang members? So let me get this straight... You guys go to the hood area, stand next to the gang members, take a picture...of franklin taking a picture...and then post it on the forum? Wheres the fun in that? You're literally standing next to npc's that don't even interact with you. At least with the activities i mentioned you're actually doing something. You said I'm contradicting myself because I go to the hood? Motherf*cker i go there to blow sh*t up and cause havoc. You only go there to take pics of your 'friends' can you see why I find this so strange?

Idea for PC mod : "Incident in Humane Lab"

I'm definitely not a fan of mods like that, i'd rather go with something more realistic, something that fits GTA more...but then again we have zombies, rail guns and aliens now dunno...I feel like GTA turns into Saints Row lately and given the manner in which R* chosen to release their additional content even strengthen that fact! There were lots of dlc packs, that added mostly silly items in SR game, consisting of cloths/vehicles/weapon and its upgrades! You can spot the exact same tendency with R*, even Firework Launcher (which does almost no damage and is there just for gags!) is there to prove my point! If you followed recent SR game and its additional content you'd understand what i mean...

details and graphics is where rockstar wins the engine for saints row looks so bad even on pcSaints Row 2 and 3 are miles above IV and V. Rockstar got outclassed and beat at their own game by a now defunct studio. i highly disagree
