I've never heard anyone on here cite the weapon wheel and dead-eye as reasons for V being more geared towards 12 year old kids. I hear everyone who criticizes V say that it is more geared towards 12 year old kids because of excessively crazy and over-the-top characters like Trevor, and all those stupid, and seemingly childish parodies of American culture. If they criticize V for features, like the weapon wheel and dead-eye, then so what ? That's just their personal preferences to do with specific gameplay features, I don't see why you are b*tching about that. RDR may be very similar to GTA, but they are still different franchises. Not everything can really compared toe-to-toe, because they are still different and unique from each other in their own right. You just have to deal with the fact that many people still believe RDR is the better game, despite it being 3 years older than GTA V, and stop b*tching about it. No you're wrong, many people on here have criticized the wacky, outlandish part of SA's storyline as being the worst part of the game, me included. That Mike Toreno stuff has been cited as the worst part of SA's story, and many people here have said over and over again that SA's storyline in general is not really it's strong point, despite it being the best or one of the best ever GTAs, and excelling in almost every other department. However SA's story in general is still much more entertaining and interesting than V's pile of government agent-dominated bullsh*t. Some people criticized SA for the wacky stuff but many people liked it. One of the main criticisms against IV was the lack of wacky stuff. Saints Row 2 even capitalized on how much people wanted the wacky stuff. Just look at this trailer. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCEQ3ywwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DoKNp13NyRts&ei=-SK7VIbACfjfsAT-poKADw&usg=AFQjCNHu-SivvnR5J1zTomDCNJV2QJEleA&sig2=2yAS43sTDS3B5g7NEPhzQw People wanted the wacky stuff but all of a sudden V releases and now all of a sudden the wacky stuff is bad and people want the serious gritty tone again?

So you're giving us three options to choose between the frag type - aliens, zombies or monkeys, right? LOL Your suggestion reminded me of Bioware's team with their "red, green and blue" ending kind of situation...All i want like someone above said a DLC, which would make GTAV feel like err...GTA you know...And not like Saints Row or something! In Red Dead zombies worked, because its different game, with different hype...back then it was an experiment like "lets do this and see the reaction", now i think developers understand that this kind of experiments with their main title are dangerous, even if its just a DLC...Way to waste resources and time onto something as cliche as zombie alien or whatever else invasion peace of crap...

Yeah yeah and I also like to get f*cked with a broomstick by Robert De Niro until I bleed or get an anal infection. It wouldn't be stupid to have either if they make them work right, afterall this game is based around GENERAL MAYHEM, I'd rather do anything else than hear another wise ass italian tellin' me whata' do. No. I don't care if it would work. This is GTA, not Saints Row or RDR. GTA is based on a career criminal, not stupid aliens and monkeys. Do you actually know how f*cking ridiculous that sounds?

I sh*t you not, the first time I played this game, I turned to my wife and asked her if she felt the story was going downhill about half way through (she wasn't paying attention, of course). The game starts strong but just gets sloppy. Characters with no substance are forced down our throats the entire game, pointless and tedious missions like what you've mentioned and the side mission where Trevor is tasked with knocking down 15 realty signs in the Vinewood Hills...all for a little "bouncy" plague the game. Everything is rushed and makes literally no sense. Franklin and Michael hit it off in a 2 minute poolside conversation, this after Franklin broke into his home and stole his vehicle the previous mission. Logical? I think not. In fact, Michael trust Franklin so much after that 2 minute poolside conversation, that he willingly leaves his son with Franklin and catches a cab home. Nobody, bar a Jerry Springer parent would do something as idiotic as that. The whole game makes Michael out to be some treacherous snake, when in reality he only cut ties with Trevor and Brad before they got the chance to do the same to him, he only made sure he was looked after first. Here I'm thinking the entire game that Trevor and Brad were really good friends when in reality Trevor thought Brad was a dick and even admits that Michael did the right thing. (You can get this info by hanging out) The Heists are another joke in this game. I'll give props for the effort but they are all very linear with very little payoff...such a little payoff in fact, that by game's end we won't even have enough money to purchase all the properties if we don't play the stocks. I mean, it's bad enough that we are forced to hire a "crew" for something that our 3 superheroes should be able to do on their own, but it's made even worse by the fact that the crew members are worthless. Why am I paying a driver who doesn't even drive? Why does Lester the molester get such a huge cut? The heists was Rockstar's selling point and they failed. It just totally baffles me that, like you, coming off games like Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV, and Max Payne that they could get so goofy and downright ignorant in this game. If I wanted Saints Row, I'd get Saints Row. Trevor is a plague on the franchise and the worst character in the entire game. I can just imagine Niko telling him "and for an annoying dick, you're really an annoying dick" before shooting him right in the face. I mean, what better way to get someone over with fans than have him stomp a very beloved protags head in in his introduction? What was Rockstar thinking, I know not. I do think Trevor would have been a much better antagonist because he has all the makings of a bad guy that I just want to exterminate. And the ending, Lord have mercy don't even get me started. In a nutshell, it was probably the worst ending (cannon ending) I've ever played in GTA. It was almost like Rockstar saying "let's end this sh*t already so you guys can play our real baby, GTA Online".

Single player was bad and the 3 character story was a bad idea?
American Viking replied to Simply Logic's topic in GTA V
You're preaching to the choir here partner. I think the 3 protag thing didn't work, not because it was poorly executed, but because the characters did not fit well with each other. Their personalities and backgrounds are so different that it came off as forced, especially in regards to Franklin's relationship with Michael and Trevor. I think the game suffers from trying to please everyone, hence the conflicting personalities and backgrounds. Trevor, for the 12 year old who loves to run down peds on the sidewalk, murder indiscriminately, and have massive shootouts with the police. Michael for those of us who miss the Tommy Vercetti days, the mob esque gameplay, and the nostalgia. Franklin, for the original San Andreas crowd who loved Carl and the whole gangster angle. The game fails on all three accounts. Michael is for damn sure no Tommy, Trevor is so incredulously over the top that he's more fitting for Saints Row than GTA, and Franklin has all the gangster characteristics of OG Loc...except I actually like OG Loc. I think the 3 protag thing doesn't allow R* the ability to write super in depth characters as evident by the hollow tone of V. In the future, I'd like to see them return to one protag only, and that goes for all of their titles. I dare say that more effort went into and is going into the GTA Online feature than single player and that is not cool. I'm a single player guy...where's my updates? Heists? Sure us single player guys get the backend of things but GTA Online is clearly their baby. -

Game makes restrictions so you stay in character?
ItsJustMeSrsly replied to BreakdownFace's topic in GTA V
But wouldn't that turn GTA into Saints Row? LOL As much as i agree with you, i'd rather go with "let me do what the hell i want, but in a sense of what is suited for GTA game" kind of statement! So take out zombies, railguns, aliens and do not put in games superhero powers and time travelling and you've got yourself a perfect GTA game! You still can do wacky stuff (its okay...we all do from times to times in real life), its just have to be at least realistic and to make tiny sense!... -

This game has the lowest replay value of all games
Sunrise Driver replied to MrDeSanta's topic in GTA V
Agreed. Game felt so boring by the end that I didn't have any itch to replay it right away (unlike all other GTAs). Even seemed-to-be fun side challenges and missions - they are not much fun. Only skydiving is good (mostly due to Tangerine Dream music). JetSki racing was a pleasure in VCS, but not in this game. 100% ? I did it even in Chinatown Wars but not in this game and not intend to. Surely if you keep playing GTA game every day you may get bored after a few months and you need to take a rest but for GTA V it's not months, it's days and after some time you are not even sure if you want to replay it. GTA V is not GTA. It's feels like it's very well made Saint's Row 5. If you want true GTA feeling and the game that should've called GTA 5 - play Sleeping Dogs. -
Rockstar killed off both the weed farm & some of the money suitcases in later patches. Players figured that you could collect a case then switch to another character before it registered that you have collected it so you could endlessly make money. They killed the weed farm because you could go to your house & make a week pass in less than 5 minutes by sleeping then go back & collect it again & again. Originally you got about $20,000 first time round then a smaller amount about $9000 each time you raided it so Rockstar patched it & made it a one off event that pays out $100,000. You know that sucks becuase i just did it and got paid only 6000. If they are going to pay that small an amount they may as well respawn it. Its not just the money its an immersion thing i just like doing it . I lke going to the farm and finding different ways to attack the suppliers there. Same thing goes for the money cases it adds more to the game just respawn small amounts. Im not a spammer but if gamers want to cheat in a game they paid for then they have the right to do so. Im going to rockstar support to dispute this issue almost ver batim. Rocstar shouldn't use patches to police gamers they should use them to fix defects. Its just gameplay not hacking or glitching in my 32 years of gaming i have never seen a game company take the fun out of gamin like this. What is going on. i guess i have to bump my own thread because i really want to bring attention to this issue again i only got paid a little over 6000 dollars for that raid. imagine what more they can do with this if the weed farms paid out 10000 every week and every time you attacked the farm the azteca's would spawn in a different position every time and have different weapon sets. think about it. you raid a farm one time and one of them has an assault rifle. you raid it the next and one of them has a mini gun. the next time after that it could be two of them hiding in cover with a sniper rifle and the others rush you in trucks and so on etc. man i'll pitch this idea to rockstar. i'm getting bored with this game after playing it for more than a year. i played saints row the third for the first time and the fun in gta v pales in comparison although they are two different games and saint row the third is more of an arcade game.

Oh yeah, because 2-3 fps drop from time to time is worse than 30% lower resolution, yes 30% 1600*900 = 1 440 000 1920*1080 = 2 073 600 Xbox Live is better yes, but people always exaggerate on how bad PSN is, it's not that bad and it's getting better with funds on PSN subscribtion (PSN started by being free 8 years ago) and gives you 6 free games every month. LoL Sony makes you pay almost the same as Xbox Live for a crappy service that never get's better, also Phil Spencer said they did the Xbox One based in the DirectX 12, so expect a resolution problem fix, by the way i remember back in 2005 when Sony said PS3 would run games at 120fps LoooL I can't believe you actually buy that bullsh*t he says, DX 12 won't make GPU 30% more efficient. Also eSRAM will still be the problem to reach 1080p with high quality textures, combine eSRAM and weaker GPU and it's 900p in 90% of games. Also saying PSN won't become better is very ignorant, and about Sony talking about 120 fps, yeah they say bullsh*t sometimes, like Phil Spencer with DX 12 on Xbone. I recommend you also watch a Digital Foundry video on GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One, when there's explosions on gas station Xbone drops to 24 fps while PS4 stays at 30 fps whole the time. Also check how low fps is in Saints Row IV on Xbox One compared to PS4, also with lower quality shadows and some other settings. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9PBzalIcEQCsiIkq36PyUA

I mostly play tennis simulators and arcade games! I'm a huge tennis fan! My favorite ones are top spin and virtua tennis series, but i also played and loved grand slam tennis 2 and smash court tennis 3!...As for non-sport games, i love playing classic PS1 games through the emulator as well as most classic PC titles like first Deus Ex game, Summoner, Fallout (classic ones with isometric camera and turn based action!), classic Unreal Tournament and first Unreal game, Classic Quake and Quake 2, Doom, Half-Life, Duke Nukem 3D, Wolfenstein, Arcanum Of Streamworks And Magick Obscura, Freelancer, top side down view GTA games as well as 3d era ones! As for newer games i play Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Skyrim, Borderlands (both 1 and 2), Saints Row (preferably Saints Row 2 over any other!), Serious Sam BFE (latest serious sam game, which is a prequel to the first game) and many more...

Why would I admit something that I don't believe to be true? I thoroughly enjoyed V, so much so that i bought it AGAIN for PS4, and will probably end up buying it AGAIN for PC once I've upgraded my system. I love the game, I think it's fantastic, albeit with some flaws. For the record, I loved IV as well, and I own it on PS3 and PC. Also, as far as what V as brought to the table... First of all, fresh ideas aren't exactly a dime a dozen these days. Everyone seems to think that possibilities are limitless - that's not really true, there is a finite number of things that can be done with video games, and coming up with a NEW idea that's never been done before the year 2013 is not exactly a cake walk. Rockstar has experimented with new ideas - L.A. Noire was very much a game designed around a single concept, interestingly enough, a concept that really would only work with that very type of game. A poker game might make good use of that facial animation technology, but that's a hell of a lot of development time to devote to a poker game. What did RDR do that was innovative? DO NOT get me wrong here - I love RDR, it is in my top 10 games of all time (along with V and IV of course), but what did it really do that was new and innovative? Not a damned thing. It had all been done before, just not as well. Yet by most people's standards, RDR is virtually gaming perfection (aside from the glitches, most of which were awesome in an entirely different way). They simply took the GTA formula and set it in the early 1900's. What did GTA IV do that was innovative? I can't think of one single thing that IV did that hasn't been done in other games. Police search system? Driver. Flying out of the windshield? Flatout. Cell phone? Saints Row. Can't really think of any other stand out features of GTA IV to be honest. So back to the point - what did V innovate? Don't know. Maybe nothing. But since when did innovation become the one key factor that decides whether a game is good or not? It obviously didn't work in LA Noire's favor. I'm not concerned with whether or not a game brings something new to the table - the game could strictly borrow elements from other games and nothing more, and as long as it was well done and polished, it could still be a good game. Although you could say that GTA Online is the first of its kind to an extent.

Sure. 2 drunk janitors, they've assigned to port GTA V for PC since 2 January, they won't be able to port even to Saints Row 2 level optimization. -
There are some serious parts, it's not exactly saints row and its more serious than the older games believe it or not. Very light on the tone though, and the radio is very silly, although if the radio was serious the game would be horrible. Serious talk shows. The radio suits the world at least, IV's radio, compared to the bleak tone, was stupid, the same over the top or "forced" humour as V. A lot of the radio does fall flat though in both. Johnny dying isn't played for laughs, it's tragic and quite sad, seeing what he become. Trevor dying is really horrible, it's not meant to be funny in any way. Trevor himself is over the top, underneath that he's a broken child with big parent issues. There's one moment of trevor getting his dick out, one tea bagging bit, there isn't humour in every cutscene, that's a bit of an exaggeration.

Yeah very sad that people preffer to play GTA than Saints Row but eh, good luck next time trying to come up with something other than that. I didn't say anything about preference. You need to learn how to read. I was comparing the features of an old game (SR2) to a new one (GTA V). A person's opinion or personal preference does not come into the equation. It is simple fact that GTA V's police officers fail to meet the standards of the police in SR2. I've stated facts about this in many topics, but the main points are that SR2 developed fantastic law enforcement: - Police officers are a good mixture of female/male and ethnic diversities - They deploy tasers - They utilise batons and pepper spray - Uniforms are varied whilst remaining consistent in appearance I suggest you learn how to properly de-construct text and develop some critical thinking skills before you suggest that "people preffer" some games to others. On another note relating to the previous posts - I spent about an hour testing the methods suggested to get CVPIs to spawn in GTA Online. I couldn't seem to get it to work on PS3. I tried multiple stations at different times of the day. Might be a current-gen only spawn. Who knows. Cheers! from which direction did you approach the police station? Did you actually get into the choose your car screen, then back out? It should take a while for you to regain control of the character, because the game will be finding a new session for you. Did you walk pretty far south, away from the police station, then try the race marker again? It CAN be a bit of a bitch to get that first spawn to appear.

Would you say this happens at any time not just 7-9pm? yeah, I don't believe time is a factor when using this method. However, the first time I got the car to spawn (and then had the damn game disconnect), it was night time. I didn't happen to look at my phone to see the exact game time, but it may have been around 7-9 PM. Perhaps this timeframe increases your chances. I did get the cars to spawn at 5pm though, so don't feel like you HAVE to wait for 7-9pm Yeah very sad that people preffer to play GTA than Saints Row but eh, good luck next time trying to come up with something other than that. I approached from the north, as you said to do in your little diagram. I tried different directions too but no luck. Yes, I did get to the vehicle select screen and back out. I did all the things you said to do in your post but I couldn't manage to spawn anything. Oh well. If anyone else has luck spawning these things on PS3, let me know! Cheers! Hmmm, in that case, follow the yellow path to the police station, since I know that one works. That's the one I used to get the cars to spawn both times. I haven't tested the blue path yet, it's just a theory.

Weird, for me the frame rate actually shoots up when the game's weather is stormy. In Max Payne 3, GTA IV and a few other games like Saints Row The Third or Mafia II. I'm using a GTX 550 Ti 1GB, oldie but goodie... well actually oldie but mid-rangey, but it got the job done at least until the "New-gen" garbage ports began to hit. First game that I've found unplayable on it was Assassins Creed Unity.
