    Story Mode DLC discussion thread

Anyone ever played the Saints Row series? I think that was a good competitor for GTA.

GTA V VS Watch Dogs Comparison

Not really, we could pretty much compare a Saints Row game to a GTA game and nobody would say the Saints Row game sucks because it's not GTA, everyone knows Saints Row has a really good fun factor to it.
  3. Yeah that is true, when i first played GTA V i felt like this is what Saints Row would be if they never became wacky and had an actual ONLINE mode. I also thought the italics was a GTA VC thing too that i noticed in the first 10 minutes of gameplay. EDIT: Rockstar should've saved Michael for GTA VI(CE CITY).
  4. V feels more like a Saints Row-ified GTA. V isnt a true GTA for me.

Franklin giving orders in c ending was weird [Spoilers]

I didn't say that Franklin wasn't a good friend, just a piss poor criminal who has a terrible story following him. He has no goals in mind. None whatsoever. I can only hope that Rockstar gets their sh*t together, and give him a decent DLC because what they gave us is total garbage. Even a kindergartener makes better stories than the full grown adults that Rockstar hires to be part of the writing staffs. The only person who has somewhat of a decent background is Trevor. At least he has goals that he wants to accomplish. What does Franklin have? Being a complete and utter asshole on top of Vinewood looking down at what use to be his friends now views as a peasant? The assassination side quest isn't that much of a big deal other than the fact that Franklin becomes Lesters bitch the very moment he was given that free mansion, and was quick to accepted it without no question. Eh? So Michael and Trevor were Lester's b*tches for himself designing the heists and everything? Niko was Roman's b*tch for helping him in his gambling addiction? CJ was Sweet's b*tch for supporting him in Grove Street? Is everyone's to you is someone's b*tch if they extended a helping hand and to earn a living? Well lets just say this. Franklin paid absolutely nothing for that mansion that Lester gave him, and he didn't even question him other than the fact that he was happy to move out of his Aunts house in Groves street. When Franklin complained about doing one of the assassination job Lester reminded him where he is living at now... So let me rephrase what I wrote... Lester have leverage over Franklin now because of the mansion that was given to him for free. Do you honestly believe that Lester is some kind of charitable man that hes kind enough to be giving away free mansions to those who he barely knows? Franklins goal is to get out of the hood, Michaels goal is very obscure as he doesnt even know it himself,(can be espcially seen in the sessions with Dr.Friedlander) Also I doubt a Story DLC would make anything better for you as YOUR main goal, seems to be calling R* and the game garbage because of some weird hate you feel for them. A lot of people including me liked the Story, it was entertainingly written, the only game I realy laughed, playing it. Also the balance between entertainment and seriousness was perfect, in my opinion, it wasnt too Saints Row, but also not too GTA IV.

Cars purchased in story mode disappearing when destroyed?

Welcome to GTA V. Saints Row has a better garage system than any of the GTA games.

    Different body types

Keep that sh*t in online, the body of the characters is ok, i don't mind playing as an aging athlete like Michael, it would be unnecesary to work in 5 body types of Trevor. Not to mention that customizable bodies tend to look cartoony (Saints Row anyone?)
  8. yungsmokex

Anyone else thinks Michael's house sucks?

Saints Row has always been at the top when it comes to customization, especially in 2. So many dope living spaces!
  9. jazzbone

Anyone else thinks Michael's house sucks?

Yea Michael's house could be better but my issue is with the garages/impound lot nonsense with all 3 protags. Mafia 2 and Saints Row 2 and 3 had much better vehicle management. Even the older ps2 Scarface was better. So why not just have all the vehicles available from one garage, vehicles returned to the garages, and a delivery service. As it is now vehicles get hauled to impound or disappear leaving me with this exclamation: " Dude, where's my car"?

    Story Mode DLC discussion thread

Lets hope not. I considered SR IV an extreme let down and so did a lot of other die-hard Saints Row fans that had been playing since the first game.
  11. Voit Turyv

    Story Mode DLC discussion thread

What if the story DLC was cancelled and it will be incorporated in GTA VI? That's what happened to Enter the Dominatrix expansion pack for Saints Row: The Third - it was morphed with then-WIP Saints Row IV and released as a full game with EtD elements.

How come they couldn't nail the gunplay like in MP3?

No. It is entirely a matter of opinion, preference and taste. No, it's really not. The gunplay should be as realistic as possible, otherwise we end up with saints row BS. This is not a matter of opinion. So what you're trying to say is: 'more realistic = better #fact' Am I reading that right? When it comes to the fire rate of the pistols? Absolutely. It's far more fun to have a pistol fire as fast as you can click the mouse.Just the fire rate of pistols? There are others. But for the sake of staying on topic I'll stick to the gunplay in this thread.

    More fun weapons?

The rail gun is only for SP. This is another thing that has nothing to do with online. I'd like a crossbow, chainsaw, kitana, screwdriver, meat cleaver. Revolver and flamethrower, pipe bomb. No dildo or vibrator though, saints row using it makes it sillier now. So much sillier. I think a chainsaw would mean slightly silly looking kills unfortunately, unless gore is increased which seems unlikely. The kitana would work well though, as V has killing animations for all the melee weapons, rather than swing around until death or hit 19 times with hammer before death. So a kitana, stab through the stomach would be good, although not sure if we'd get the head being cut off, and if it does it'll either be too gory or not like the old games where heads disappeared and the ped with no head grabbed his or her neck. Flamethrower can work though, there's a mod for PC that makes you breathe fire, it looks flamethrowery. Although issues could include potential FPS slow downs due to fire not going out 3 seconds after it starts, the spreading too. Still, the homing launcher, melee weapons, rail gun, mini gun, a useful RPG, knuckle duster, classic GTA weapons, variety and no weapon sets, a red dead style weapon wheel. Could be worse.

    This isn't saints row.

Volition? Those motherf*ckers that sell you cheat codes? Those motherf*ckers that ruined Saints Row with sci-fi crap? Who copy pasted the entire SR3 map into SR4 with minor changes? Say what you want but Volition better than R*??

No. It is entirely a matter of opinion, preference and taste. No, it's really not. The gunplay should be as realistic as possible, otherwise we end up with saints row BS. This is not a matter of opinion. I don't know what planet you're living on. That is an opinion. It is not fact that the gunplay should be as realistic as possible. An opinion is: a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. Where are the facts that support 'the gunplay should be as realistic as possible'? YOU and a few others feel it should be as realistic as possible. I don't feel it should be. That, my friend, is a difference of opinion. Keep up. I am keeping up, and you're wrong. objectively. You stand here and lie that you think the shooting mechanics in MP3 are inferior simply because you don't want to accept that there's anything wrong with V for some reason. Thusly, your opinion is biased, and objectively wrong. Hope you can learn that criticizing a game you like is not bullying, even though you make inflammatory remarks like "keep up" and other put downs etc.

For f*ck's sake. Don't be a child. There's no denying that assumptions that opinion is fact are all too common around here. I don't think it would be. I prefer what we have in V, it suits the way I play. It's incredible, I know. Why, you prefer slower firing pistols? That's just kind of dumb. In my "opinion". OK, I acknowledge your opinion there. The speed of the firing doesn't really matter that much to me, I spend my time doing more than just shooting, so it's not a key focus for me. If I were, for example, playing a game like MP3, where the sole focus of the game is shooting, I expect it to be more realistic and slicker. But when I'm playing a game where I have other options for play, I don't really notice it so much, because it's not the only thing to focus on. Like I said earlier, I'm really glad that people like the MP3 gunplay, because at least we can rest safe in the knowledge that R* did something you like. That's a good thing! I just prefer the balance in V because it's functional enough for me to play the game and have fun. Remember, games should be fun. I feel the same way about the driving physics - sure, they're arcadey and a bit silly, but that kind of driving is fun for me. I want to have crazy chases, I don't want to feel like I'm playing a driving sim, because that's not the sole focus of the game. I play driving sims for that sort of thing. While there is definitely an argument for having every refinement from every R* franchise being included, I personally feel that it would leave the game feeling clunky, a lumpen mess that has too much in it - like Saints Row. Now, if anyone wants to continue calling me dumb, or telling me I'm wrong because I don't share the exact same opinion as you, please, feel free to PM me and we can take it out of the discussion. If you want to acknowledge what I've said without resorting to childish attacks, and actually discuss the matter at hand, let's do that Yes, but the gunplay is objectively better than V. It's not a matter of opinion.

You was never this diplomatic to start with and I don't recall you even saying that MP3 is superior in the way it handles its gunplay mechanics. If you had made it abundantly clear from the start that you did or did not prefer the gunplay and why, there wouldn't of been any 'childish attacks' to begin with.
