Yeah, this is the truth right here, but people don't get it. They think that every game should have EVERY feature that previous games have had AND more, even if they're trash features that no one used, liked or wanted. Because that's how a good, streamlined game is made, right guys? Fill it up with increasing levels of crap until you're no longer playing GTA, but are actually playing a Rockstar version of Saints Row.

V is a good game, not excellent, it would have been an excellent Saints Row, but is a poor gta. It's also funny how certain people always reply to negative comments about V. Dude if you would know me or look around the forum a little you would find out that I reply to every comment I can reply to. A "poor" GTA, well GTA SA was and Vice City were just as "crazy" and SA even crazier than V, Could you evaluate on your opinion a little more?

Sure, who the f cares about first person mode that totally changes the gameplay, and the bonus vehicles and graphics and all that sh*t. f*ck you Rockstar I'm buying saints row, now I'll tell mommy how you stole her 60 bucks !!!! I don't hate the FPV mode, but I didn't change the game for me. I just didn't find it to be anything special. Thats reasonable but still V on Next Gen has so many more features than on last gen, which you did not mention, which implys either you just did not notice them or you were trying to misslead.

We won't know what R*'s actual intentions are until VI is released. If we end up with a story campaign that rivals Saints Row The Third in terms of length (I 100%'ed that in 3 days), then I'd say it's safe to write off the franchise as another online cash cow. Online modes are important in this day and age, but we need something to do when the servers go down. And they will go down. A lot.

You are naive. Rockstar has always gone where the money was. How else did you think they could spend so much on game development. Because they made good products. Now they sold out the entire GTA community and brought in the CoD fa**ots and the casuals. When companies make good money they sell out and do sh*t like this. Happened to Assassin's Creed, Saints Row, Hitman, TES etc and now its happening to GTA Are the games I listed terrible? No but they are just a shadow of their former self.

Main Official GTA V Vehicle Discussion Officialness
Voit Turyv replied to AZAZEL's topic in Guides & Strategies
I dare say Saints Row 2 cars have soul like their brethren from GTA IV. I enjoy driving a car like Stiletto where I have a choice of many sports cars like two kinds of Lamborghini, some Mitsubishi Eclipse with butterfly doors look-alike, some Mercedes SLR McLaren look-alike, muscle cars and the like. Okay - the handling usually sucks but there's a ton of variety. Although there are few manufacturers in SR2 (the same producer makes a Lambo and a septic truck), the cars are detailed. However, let's not forget that there are also cars that are plain ugly in SR2 (Superiore aka discount Lamborghini Countach, Zomkah aka Jaguar rip-off with ugly Chinese knock-off-like front end), but it usually takes some thought into pointing out the really ugly cars in this game. Later I might be doing a comparision of cars in Saints Row and finding their relatives in GTA. -
Everything went downhill for that series after that game unlike GTA. Saints Row actually had gangsta roots lol Everything has to evolve. But then again, if SR3 was larger and had replayability like SR2, it'd be probably the best game in the series. When I was playing it in 2012, little did I know I'd be killing aliens a year later.

Saints Row 2, doing a master save.

Sorry, I might not have been clear as I'm saying that all in reference not only to their lack of development, but my complete and utter hatred of Michael and Trevor's personalities as a whole, which I have rambled on about endlessly in the past. I'm probably going to do the same now. They are both objectionable sh*ts who, if I were to have the misfortune to meet in real-life, I would go out of my way to make sure I never met them again. They are detestable, ugly people and that makes me not want to play them. I felt similarly about Johnny because his tawdry redemption schtick was pathetic and I found him a complete chore to play as. Here's my play-time shares: PS3: F: 61%, 4 days, 23 hours 59 minutes. Wow, 1 minute away from 5 whole days. M: 17% 1 day, 8 hours, 36 minutes T: 22% 1 day, 18 hours, 36 miuntes PS4: F: 63% 1 day, 21 hours, 45 minutes M: 19% 14 hours, 21 minutes T: 18% 13 hours exactly. I'm not over exaggerating. Look at the differences there. I have that much time as M and T from playing the story and occasional free roam, and playing as them for the encounters, S&Fs, activities exclusive to them. Every minute of that time, once I'd realised how little I liked those two characters, was grudgingly spent on them. I didn't enjoy playing as them. Franklin is a pretty weak character, but he doesn't instill me with a sense of resentment based on his decisions, motivations and general behaviour throughout the story. Michael and Trevor annoy the sh*t out of me. So playing as them is completely unappealing. That's one of the major reasons why I can't let go and truly enjoy a game like Saints Row - every character is an objectionable little sh*t that I don't have any desire to play as or be around.

Sam Houser.... again.. Yeah sure, I know you cant accept it but GTA V was a good game, and well apreciated by many. I acknowledge GTA V is appreciated by the majority, it's a GTA game, the problem is they dumbed V down to cater for the casual people, and the fact that people "pay" much more attention to GTA Online than the SP because singleplayer lost its criminal feel at all and it had much features chopped off to be an online exclusive.... R* can go full Saints Row if they want to lead the franchise that way to "expand their public" because the GTA brand is so strong and mainstream that it won't let the franchise get killed even if they dumb down every aspect of the next game. Sadly we can't tell the same to the Mafia franchise, a franchise based on realism and the criminal feel, which now is following the same way GTA V went to... So as a logical consequence I must be a casual player right ? I'll tell you something I am not, and many others who play arent either, Online is made for casuals the core of V is playable by everyone, only thing which got "dumbed down" are the interiors and some MINOR things from IV. Some argue that the Story in V is lacking, I disagree I saw myself greatly entertained but if you are one of them, I dont blame you, its a valid opinion to have because the charackters and missions are indeed over the top designed and might not be for everyone. Still V had objectively, yep objectively better level design than IV. Ask a level designer, ask a Journalist ask a developer all will confirm GTA V has way better level design than IV. Let me grab one example of many, The Film Studio mission in which you have to steal the james bond car, -> The mission is superbly staged (the actor you can steal the clothes from, the regisseur, everyone has specific animations) -> This mission has got a Stealth Aproach you can go in stealthy grab the clothers of the actor go into the car -> This mission got a "Rambo-Aproach" you can go in guns blazing get the car, of course with the consequence of beeing shot at from a bunch of people ->The "Rambo Aproach" can be made everytime in the entire missions, even after you grabbed the actors clothes you can still go in guns blazing. ->This mission got the easter egg that if you go in Stealthy and clothed as the actor and reach the car in time, the women will sit beside you in the car and you can throw her out later ->This mission got the Special gimmick that you are driving a james bond car with a cool chase in which you can place needles. ->This mission got specific camera work for the car and its features. You get the point, I will admit this is one of the best designed missions but many missions are designed in a unique way and none is just as the other. Yeah, this is one thing V got over IV, less boring missions. By the other hand, heists are overscripted as hell (V and Online), even more than Three leaf clover, this is the only aspect that grind my gears regarding heists: Go to the yellow mark to lose the heat. IV has a lot of boring missions, hence the three leaf clover mission being the spotlight mission from the entire game, but it becomes very enhanced by the well-written storyline and realism in the game. V has some funny missions worthy a look, but it has a pitful storyline and arcadish elements that ruins the game for hardcore players. It's a switch, but I would swap all the cool missions for a well written storyline and the realism R* tried to reach in IV.

List of ongoing bugs needing to be fixed
nkjellman replied to DentureDynamite's topic in Help & Support
Most of these bugs are quite easy to test. If who ever works on this game also plays it frequently, us pointing it out will draw their attention to it. However, I believe that because of GTA Online being an evolving platform with new content being added continuously, along with micro transactions that bring them money, they will look into it. I have a feeling that they care more about GTA V than they did about GTA IV. So in this case they will be more willing to fix a certain bug. The problem is, there are some bugs that may not be able to be fixed without rewriting a lot of code. But mostly out of all of the bugs posted in here, I really really hope that they fix the following few. I'll rank them. 1. The micro stuttering. Please Rockstar, for the love of god fix the damn micro stuttering. I have a high end PC, and shouldn't be experiencing this. My computer/hardware/setup/drivers/game installation/operating system isn't the problem. Its your game. You apparently got rid of the Self Radio stutter, now they occur when a select bunch of animations are performed. 2. The Nvidia PCSS soft shadows not rendering properly far away. If they found a way to make them behave like regular soft shadows far away, that would be fantastic. Nvidia PCSS is the most realistic soft shadow option but the far shadow bug is ruining it. I like to have the best experience without any downsides. 3. It would be nice if light reflected on water didn't get stuck on the side of my screen, causing water to glow on the edges of the screen. 4. It would be nice if I didn't have to change my graphics settings back and fourth every time I start the game so I don't get shifting 40, then 60 FPS "locks". I will live if 3 and 4 don't get fixed. Number 3 has been there since day 1. Number 4 has been there for me since the second patch. Number 1 has always been there, but recently, I realized the things causing the micro stutter seem to have changed. Number 1 NEEDS TO GET FIXED! I want to see absolutely no micro stuttering. Not on my PC, nor anyone else's. I really hope that number 2 gets fixed as the bug is quite annoying, but number 1 is definitely a high priority over practically any other bug in here. I hear that people with a GTX 980TI get it. This very well could mean that if it is ignored, the micro stutter will not get fixed by future technology like IV's problems did. I don't want it to end up like the Saints Row 2 speed up bug which is sadly unfixable. -

Ps3 only off and online since release. After hundreds of hours online and multiple sp playthroughs i find the sp vehicle management my biggest dislike. It is sooooo annoying. I switch to Franklin to find him ironing his cloths and have to taxi or drive across town to get to his remote garage or make the trip to the impound lot in hope of recovering that T20 i upgraded. Too often it's just "dude, where's my car"? The fix is for R* to copy how games like Mafia 2 and Saints Row 2&3 manage vehicles. That is all regular vehicles are available from one garage, vehicles are insured, and vehicles return to the garage and not disappear or go to an impound lot. Vehicle delivery like in online would be really really great. My likes are many however 3 things stand out for me. There are 3 protagonists that are playable and in freeroam can be switched at almost anytime i wish to do so. That one of the protagonists lives in a regular house, is married, and has children. For me the gta 5 world, vehicles, and driving physics provide the most fun of driving fast and crazy in any game i have ever played.

Intricate gameplay mechanics you would like to see in future GTA's
Shadowfennekin replied to SmileyBandito's topic in GTA V
Being able to mug people when you aim your gun at them, like in Saints Row A bar or something above a nearby enemies head in missions that involve stealth. That way you can see if they can see you like in other games. Would be handy for missions like Deliver EMP if they ever make a mission like that in SP -
Only solution is to press alt+enter to switch to windowed mode. That eliminates the keyboard lag. Then just press it again to enter full screen when going back to the game. Saints Row 3 had this issue too, so I doubt it's a memory/CPU related thing, considering I've played other demanding games that don't have the issue.

Name the things in V that don`t make any sense at all
jazzbone replied to MrDeSanta's topic in GTA V
The entire underwater with lots of detail and ship and plane wrecks has me puzzled. The cases with money were patched out, we can't take snapmatics, on the ps3 the sea life is one shark, and only one mission uses a sub. All of that useless underwater detail while fully detailed interiors are only rendered in a mission or locked out of missions like the humane lab, Floyd's condo, and the janitor's apartment. Also none of the purchased buisnesses have interiors. Along with the useless underwater detail is the activities of yoga, tennis, and golf that are the least talked about subjects in any gta forums. What is puzzling is that while those activities exist is that there is no basketball or working pool tables. R* could have copied Mafia 2 or Saints Row 2 & 3 for garage/ vehicle management, but nooooooooo they decided on what we got and what really is annoying in single player. Why?????? -
Do you think cops & mercenaries should use heavy arms?
American Viking replied to pthieu1986's topic in GTA V
I half agree with AAR. Police forces as well as mercenaries are already too damn accurate, and the police must have their own personal crystal ball. Arming the police with grenades and bazookas is a ridiculous idea best saved for Saints Row. GTA needs to stay as true to life as it can, so cops with shotguns and assault rifles is okay only if the situation calls for it...like a few of the bank robberies in GTA V for example where police would undoubtedly be strapped to the teeth. Think about this though, the police would want to put an end to the chaos in a quick, precise manner, not blow up a city block. Mercs on the other hand, I'm okay with them having heavier weapons but once again it depends on the situation and more importantly who it is we are talking about. Your average street gangster will not have access to military grade hardware unlike a Mafioso type. No difficulty levels. -
How did R* NOT get sued by the church of Scientology?!

This game is too damn big for my SSD. I can put it on there, but the combo of it and Windows doesn't leave much room. They aught to work out a fix for the games micro stuttering. The Self Radio stutter isn't nearly as bad as it was, however the game it self stutters more. As we all know by Rockstar's patches breaking parts of their games, and them refusing to fix some of their screw ups, I don't know if this will be fixed. If there is something for GTA Online security that is messing up performance, they are not going to fix it. I have a 250gb SSD and yes it takes up a lot of room. Win 10 + GTAV leaves me with about 100gb left on the drive. But that's fine for me, cause I can install all my other games on HDD's. For me, it isn't just that. For some reason, the Assassin's Creed games, and the Saints Row games don't work when installed on a different hard drive. I have to install those on C. I sure hope Rockstar fixes everything wrong with Self Radio. As in the lag spikes it causes, and the fact that many MP3's don't have correct volumes resulting in many songs sounding too quiet. I never had this issue on GTA IV.
