I was pissed about it for a few months. After all that time, they still had to delay it? And R* released the posters and viewers and everything, then BAM! They delayed it out of the blue. I felt that they had to know about it for a long time. They were just using GTA V hype to peddle their other wares(Max Gayne). I lost respect that cannot be recovered. I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed. But, we're not far from release, assuming that R* doesn't delay it on Sept. 15th. I'll be glad to leave all the dark times of anticipation behind, and some forumers here know exactly what I'm talkin' 'bout. R* really needs to evaluate their marketing strategy, because it sucks. Two months from release and they still aren't marketing the way they should with a title like this. In the future, instead of going silent for a year after dropping a bomb, and instead of releasing 10 screens at once, they should spread it out a little to keep it flowing. IMO, R* are gods in game development, but when it comes to marketing, they are complete fools.

Thanks R* for using GTA to market Max Gayne. That was...really great! Also, thanks for the horsesh*t time frames, such as: "few weeks or so" and "soon". I like it, I love it, I want some more of it! Thanks for acting like it was a hassle because so many people were wondering where the hell the next GTA was a few years ago. "we're not going to announce it, announce the announcvement of announcing it, announce about the announcement that announced the announcing". In march 2008 we had sh*t load of GTA IV previews, posters, and other cool stuff. Now we are at the same point, and we have silent. It's because of Max Gayne 3. They used GTA V to promote MP3 and it was main fail. They f*cked up marketing. Hope it won't be the same with GTA VI. Also, they have one of the biggest fanbase in video games industry, and they don't give a f*ck about it. They still repeating "coming soon", "soon", "very soon", "few weeks" etc, etc. We are they main source of income, it should look different.

To be honest I find all these names stupid. "Max Gayne", "Saints Row: The Turd", "Cock of Duty", "Watch Cocks" etc. To me nothing represents a neanderthal level of critique than the use of some stupid pun. I'd appreciate it if they were all left out please.

If it weren't for Max Gayne then there would've been dozens of screenshots, four trailers and a release date for October. But sadly this isn't the case and is being made worse by DLC.

IDK, i didn't want max gayne either, but i saw the wal-mart black friday ad had the game listed for $15. it's almost disposable at $15! i might be gayning it up by the end of the week.

Also, just speaking, how many of you PC MASTER RACE guys actually BOUGHT Max Payne 3 in the first week? Max Payne 3 was where Rockstar pushed the boat out for PC players and again, I bet most of you acted like little kids "LOL MAX GAYNE" which statistic wise, just shows Rockstar that doing an early PC release that no one buys it.

Yeah, when GTA VI is only a year away and when people will love Max Payne 4 so much prior the release so that they will call it 'Max Gayne 4', 'MG4', 'Max is a Payne 4', etc. Yeah, then we will start from zero all over again.

I've anticipated every GTA after GTA 1. I was hyped about Vice City, then San An really got me. I combed through the screens and the interactive website. I was addicted. When I finally got my hands on San An, it was heaven on earth. I looked all the time for info on IV for a long time, but nothing. Then R* went full force with it. I was hyped about it, but for some reason, I just didn't think that it looked very good. When I finally got my hands on it, I was like: "where's the features?" I was disappointed. I liked Niko/the story and some of the other characters, but it just didn't get it for me. About 6 months after IV, I was looking early for V rumors or leaks. I was ready to move on, but it was a lost cause. Then, after V's announcement, R* spammed us with Max Gayne around the clock. That's NOT at all what I was craving at the moment. After all the lies, inaccurate time frames, year of silence, then, the delay,--It ruined it this time around. For the first time I felt anger towards R* and noticed that many other core fans felt the same way. "What has happened", -I thought. It's just been one let down after another with V. R* says no properties! What the hell have they been doing all this time? What else has been left on the cutting room floor? My hype for V has been a roller coaster that has gradually went down hill. Trailer #2 brought it up again, but it crashed to the ground soon after. I just want the game so I can turn the page and leave this anticipational nightmare behind in the anals of history. It's been a sh*tty go-round this time. Thanks R*.

People are just butthurt about lack of info, and the fact that we got MP shoved down our throats didnt help. The only reason they done that was because MP3's sales weren't doing as expected in R*'s favour so they needed to gain more sales to benefit the shareholders and themselves. I'm pretty sure it should be 2016-2017, unless they start trolling with Bully 2, Agent, RDR sequel, Max Gayne 4, a new Midnight Club (but that one would be alright), Manhunt 3, or even a new franchise.

It should have gone like this: -GTA IV in 2008, only 1 DLC in 2009 with TLaD and TBoGT mixed together as smaller games. -RDR in 2010, no changes there. -A new GTA in 2011, brand new city, improved RAGE engine, better graphics, more features, etcetera. -LA Noire in 2012, instead of 2011. -GTA V as we know it, in 2013. So basically no Max Gayne 3 to make room for another GTA. Yet even then, the time span between GTAs would be 2 years, more than the average for the III era, but still much better than 5+ years.

Topics like this make clear that GTA V was pushed back too far... should've been released in 2012 instead of that max gayne bullsh*t, now PS4 is too near for a PS3 game to still make a big statement... Rockstar you suck major balls.

R* used GTA to advertise another game. You call that brilliant marketing? I call it bait & switch EA style! How on earth is that a bait & switch? Aliens Colonial Marines, now that was the ultimate example. R* advertising two games at the same time makes them EA does it? There was no indication of a release date when Trailer 1 was released, you just assumed (mother of all eff ups). You're such a drama queen, with your hyperbolic nonsense.

GTA V was a given and it was time. They released the trailer to drum up hype for Max Gayne. It was so obvious because then we were spammed with nothing but MP news and nothing on GTA V, for months on end. It was the stupidest marketing stardegy ever attempted. Now as we know, GTA V isn't even coming out until later 2013 and R* knew this all along. Had we known that then, the sh*t woulda hit the fan. It's actually a good question. Will we have to go to our safehouse and put it on everytime we wanna go diving, or will it be in the items/equipment wheel where we can just select it? I'd say with the new wheel thingy(like in Max gayne) we will just be able to select it.
