  1. If speculation is supposed to be 100% accurate, it won't be called speculation. I'm not hiding and I don't have to apologize for anything.

GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion [Part 7] - The one with the announcement

Rockstar is now recruiting a Producer for Voiceover. This is the second job listing in relation to Voiceover. The first being the "Voiceover Director" job listing. The first listing was filed back in August. Rockstar must be taking all of this into account preparing for next year. My best guess? This is all in preparation of the local pedestrian VO sessions.

We don't have any material from the latest update to suggest anything about the next update. But what I was told from a reliable source, prior to the Criminal Enterprises update, is that Michael will be featured in the long run. It depends whether it will be this December update or an update in the future. But safe to bet on the former.

  6. I mean there is another date in October (GTA VC anniversary, GTA VI's location...) that makes more sense than today considering after all it wasn't even the proper franchise anniversary, but again no one should be going in actually expecting something to happen. No need to get worked up about speculation, this rodeo of excitement, disappointment, wild speculation happens every pre-announcement/pre-release (you should've seen GTA V, topics got crazy like this every week!) and as much as it might be annoying for some, it's plenty of fun for others as we're all just a bunch of fans theorising on stuff or talking about stuff. Your reaction to "made-up" dates and speculation is fully up to you, and you shouldn't let posts from even someone like Tez phase you (because he won't know about stuff like that). Month's not over yet I suppose

  11. Internal document shows that the Houser brothers and the top devs like Leslie Benzies and Aaron Garbut started brainstorming ideas for the location of VI around late 2012 - early 2013. I would say the window for rough scripts would be more accurate between 2014 - 2016.

  17. Just like how RDR2 was built off a GTAV build from 2014, VI will be built off RDR2. Safe to say implementing horses shouldn't be difficult. In fact, we already have a leftover hint within RDR2 files. The date is when I posted about the leftover, but it existed within the files since RDR2 release. Must have been placed prior to release by a few months. Early videos of the leaked videos show that the two protagonists were using Arthur's animations for walking ...etc.

  21. I can see it being a controversial change, but to me personally, it's a welcome one. To me, it'd be a lot more satisfactory to win a gunfight in which I had to choose the weapons I go with on my own, rather than simply having everything on me at once and switching when I need to. I actually hope this change will make the game harder, as GTA V was shockingly easy to me (maybe the checkpoints and stuff contributed to that, but even without them, the gunfights weren't that challenging to me).

  23. It did. That's when the recording sessions started. But the "built off" part is in reference to when the developers split the game from V and started iterating and improving over the code base. Hence why I picked 2014 as more reasonable year for when the "split off" happened. Dev comment within RDR2 files: <!-- Description:: meta tree nodes. Date:: 3/31/2014 11:23:33 AM ********************************************************************************************** NOTE: The order of the RPF files are important so that the game can create the cache properly. For each area, the area_lod and area_lod_combine files should come first and then the rest after. e.g. fghi_3_6_area_lod.rpf fghi_3_6_area_lod_combine.rpf ********************************************************************************************** --> Also, V uses GXT2 format for language files and RDR2 uses #LDB format for language files. However, @rollschuh2282 found out that the extension for the new format is listed within GTAV executable all the way back since 2015. But according to @alloc8or, V doesn't support that new file format. Although, the extension is defined within the extension list. Basically, Rockstar must have split the codebase prior to GTAV PC release. This is more of a leftover from when Rockstar split RDR2 off GTAV codebase and started building a new system to handle horses among other improvements/overhauls.

  28. Who cares about GTA VI reveal? Let's interview Dan Houser on his new gaming studio and throw in "When you left Rockstar Games, people were speculating that you were done with gaming. But then, you surprised us with the opening of your new studio. Could you maybe give us an insight into your reasoning? Were you not satisfied with the future of Rockstar Games?" Then, Dan might spill the beans by discussing his hypothetical viewpoint of Rockstar's future and he may reveal to us the next title planned after VI.

New cities post-launch: how will it work?

Major games always tend to have some cut content. The content is cut because the budget, resources and other factors not being able to cover the development. Prior to GTAV's release, Rockstar was planning a Single-Player DLC with three episodes for each protagonist and the map is given a new look on each episode. One episode involved a Zombie Apocalypse to transform the map into a DayZ-alike environment as RDR1 Undead Nightmare gained popularity. At the same time, Liberty City as a map expansion was planned too. Both were scrapped as Rockstar shifted focus towards GTA Online. Prior to RDR2's release, Rockstar was planning a Mexico map expansion. Hence all the references to Nuevo Paraíso within the game files. In fact, you can access this region through exploits. Unfortunately, the map expansion was scrapped as Rockstar moved on to the next major project aka GTA6. The common factor is that Rockstar planned in advance for those map expansions. They didn't release GTAV and decided the next day to do a Single-player DLC. The same scenario is happening with GTA6 as we hear from several reports. So the first set of map expansions or new cities would have been planned prior to release. The game may have references or like a cut-off bridge hinting at a possible map expansion. Or like RDR2 where you visit the edge of a specific area and the soundtrack plays something in relation to a new city. As for the technical side, every recent GTA Online update featured "map additions" in technical terms. Rockstar added a few new additions for Cayo Perico to work. An Island Hopper meta file that loads the map placement files and unloads the base map among other things. So you could see having new buildings (new interiors) open up within the city on a similar scale to the various GTAO updates. What I could see Rockstar doing is allow us to explore a sectioned-off area of a city in South America during story missions. Then, come back to that city with a new DLC to explore the aftermath.

Got the final wheels ready for the Stiletto. These are from the Brioso 300 Custom, which I forgot was a thing. These look pretty close to the real Cromodora wheels, but not too close so they're perfect. And the bigger update being the addition of the Spyder variant, so now you can have the option of a GT or GTS in one car!

  34. An announcement is supposed to be captivating and surprising to both casuals and hardcore fans, so given the leaks I would indeed expect a change of plans with how they're gonna show off the game - but not necessarily a change in dates.
