We aren't expecting the announcement to happen because of the UFO event. October is the month Rockstar tends to drop the major announcements at. GTAV, RDR2, Trilogy. GTAO's UFO event happens to be occurring at the same time. If Rockstar had any GTA6 material within GTAO files, we would have found it already. They act extra cautious with major announcements when they were already cautious enough to not cause any leaks from their side (excluding external parties). What Rockstar can do is automate a GTA Online background update to go live an hour or half an hour before the actual announcement article. Where Omega sends you a text message about the strange appearance of a different kind of UFO and drops a Vice City reference. By the time, the dataminers rush to find out what's going on and the hype cycle starts within the fans. The actual announcement would've went live. This is all a hypothetical "What If" situation, of course.36 points -

Based off the leaked coordinates, it's bigger than V map. That's for sure. We don't have to focus much on the landmass the map covers, but on the interiors accessible as well. That's a big advantage over V's map.34 points -

I went back to checking out the leaked videos, I won't post the material of course. But one video states the Gameplay script was built at 28/05/2021 16:53:34 and the video title itself is 2021-05-28 16:56:02 2 minutes and a half difference. It's more believable that the developer was recording the video and uploaded it on the company's Slack chat right after. So, the video titles represent the upload dates. And the most recent one was the skirt video uploaded only a day or two before the hacker breached Rockstar's Slack chat.32 points -

That's actually slightly modified code from CS:GO, made public by Valve in 2018. Even the line numbers are the same: https://gitlab.com/KittenPopo/csgo-2018-source/-/blob/main/engine/sv_framesnapshot.cpp#L83 Although all the active members in here seem to understand that the TG group is a scam, I compiled some tips on how to verify the authenticity of claims about leaked code, which others might find useful: Only accept proofs which address YOUR custom request. The custom proofs must be received immediately or within minutes. If necessary, schedule a time when both you and the claimer are available. Ask for code which you already have a hint about, like unknown parameters of natives outside of the TASK namespace, Scaleform code which you have already seen decoded, sources of YSCs which you have already seen decompiled or native code which you have already seen disassembled. If you do not have knowledge of these, do not do it yourself, instead seek help from reputable modders in the online communities. Validate the code both syntactically and semantically, as well as the coding style. Examples for the new screenshot on TG: we see 3 new cpp files, all with names in flat case, although all the ones in the original screenshots are camelCase or snake_case; all sources seen in the first screenshots use CRLF line endings as opposed to LF in the new ones; unlike the new code, the old one did not use spaces after '(' or before ')'. I do not encourage buying stolen source code. Stay safe!31 points -

Rockstar is now recruiting a Producer for Voiceover. This is the second job listing in relation to Voiceover. The first being the "Voiceover Director" job listing. The first listing was filed back in August. Rockstar must be taking all of this into account preparing for next year. My best guess? This is all in preparation of the local pedestrian VO sessions.27 points -

Ok, the arguing is starting so I'm locking this for a cleansing. FFS you people. Edit: No one cares about your optimism or pessimism or what have you, whatever, let people think what they want. This topic's bad enough as it is and I'm starting to think making these kinds of megathreads (although they also occasionally existed for GTA V) with RDR2 was a mistake - we have plenty of other topics about specific subjects people talk about here that are constantly ignored because everyone plops everything down here. They're good for overflow but some of you exaggerate, this is not a chatroom. We can sh*t post a bit, but entire multiple pages is a bit excessive.27 points -

I mean there is another date in October (GTA VC anniversary, GTA VI's location...) that makes more sense than today considering after all it wasn't even the proper franchise anniversary, but again no one should be going in actually expecting something to happen. No need to get worked up about speculation, this rodeo of excitement, disappointment, wild speculation happens every pre-announcement/pre-release (you should've seen GTA V, topics got crazy like this every week!) and as much as it might be annoying for some, it's plenty of fun for others as we're all just a bunch of fans theorising on stuff or talking about stuff. Your reaction to "made-up" dates and speculation is fully up to you, and you shouldn't let posts from even someone like Tez phase you (because he won't know about stuff like that). Build IDs are displayed within the videos. However, it's not like GTAV PS3 build log where a new build is built every work day. As VI builds have more sub versions than GTAV. For example, between the 2021-03-03 and 2021-03-23 videos, the build ID went from 400 to 404 with a lot of sub versions in-between. That's within two weeks. By only counting workdays, 400 days bring us back to July 2019. But, I'm inaccurately assuming that a new build is built on every workday which is not the case as shown within the videos since there are tons of sub versions in-between. So the more accurate estimation would be late 2018 - early 2019. Near RDR2's launch and we know Rockstar likes to move on into the next project right after releasing its previous major project. RDR2 took 5 years of full development until release. Applying the same to VI, then we expect a release window in 2024.25 points -

The video dates back to April 2021 when most if not all of the developers were working from home. Some had dev kits at home, but the majority didn't. To obtain a dev kit at home wasn't just tough because of Rockstar's network security, but with how Sony & Microsoft operated as the dev net must be configured to work with said kits in too many unique locations posing a security threat. And when WFH became a thing, Rockstar switched to using a Zero Trust network access model. What I heard from a couple of sources is that the developers were using a virtual dev system that can be used on a retail kit to replicate a dev kit. But in turn, these retail consoles turn into jet engines. That's no longer the case since earlier this year as dev kits were sent to the devs. But recently with the security breach, Rockstar is returning to working from the office. Within the PS4 dev kit video, you can see a second mouse cursor. So I'm more inclined to believe that is the virtual dev kit software I heard about. It was hella laggy that Rockstar decided to send out dev kits.24 points -

anyone remember the license plates found in ifruit files 9 years ago? yesterday i decided to check out the texture mappings (to readable names) while looking for completely unrelated stuff, and i found out something new about those license plates. first off, in the linked image, the first plate (san andreas plate with the sun on it) and the san andreas plate with black text were unlikely to ever be a real thing and were just old placeholders. they are named "PLATE_01" and "PLATES_PLATE_COLOUR", respectively. there is also another plate that is completely blank, simply named "TEST_PLATE" for completeness and later relevancy, these are the names for all the plates we have currently: PLATES_PLATE_ASBG5 (sa exempt) PLATES_PLATE_BG1 (normal san andreas) PLATES_PLATE_BG2 (black san andreas) PLATES_PLATE_BG3 (blue san andreas) PLATES_PLATE_BG4 (yellow stripe san andreas) PLATES_PLATE_BG5 (sa exempt) the remaining unused plates are named: PLATES_PLATE_LC_BG1 (liberty city (blue and red stripes)) PLATES_PLATE_LC_BG6 (liberty city (blue and yellow)) PLATES_PLATE_LC_BG7 (los santos shrimps) PLATES_PLATE_SPECIAL1 (liberty city (city skyline)) PLATES_PLATE_SPECIAL2 (vice city) PLATES_PLATE_SPECIAL3 (sprunk) PLATES_PLATE_SPECIAL4 (patriot beer) yes, for some reason the LS shrimps and skyline LC plate mappings are inverted, should be the other way around. this is where i believe that the liberty city plates weren't just some special award/easter egg plates, but the actual plates you would see and be able to equip with the scrapped liberty city dlc. it's named in a similar format to the standard los santos plates (and missing 4 ID's, though that could just be a "continuation" of the SA plates) and it singles out LC while it's at it, which is not the case for the VC plate. as for the last 4 plates, i genuinely think that r* did consider at some point to have special license plate backgrounds as rewards, limited or otherwise. remember the cool mountain plate graphic in old newswire articles, at least twice? (btw that plate is photshopped onto the massacro, in case people think it's the real ingame footage™) you can actually find the exact same "JUN" and green "20XX" stickers in ifruit files under the names "PLATES_PLATE_L_ASSET" and "PLATES_PLATE_R_ASSET". i feel like that newswire plate wasn't just a cool background to spruce up the ad, but a genuine intention to let players have it before something has made them decided not to do it. even though it's been 9 years now, it would be cool if they revisited (and maybe expanded) that idea in a future dlc. as a login unlock or a progression-based unlockable (let's not do "x lucky winners" pls) for at least the 4-5 non-LC plates. after all it's grand theft auto, not grand theft wardrobe (would also be cool if they updated the ifruit app for newer devices or just let us change the plate text ingame, while they're at it) also, on an unrelated note, for some reason the image for bodhi calls it franklin's car, while the image for buffalo calls it trevor's car. not just that, but in every instance, franklin is referred to as "ariano" ("ALWAYS_USED_CAR_ARIANO", "GARAGE_ARIANO_IMAGE", etc.) and also there are leftover icons for the three 2012 cops and crooks factions ("GARAGE_BIKER_IMAGE", "GARAGE_POLICE_IMAGE, "GARAGE_VAGOS_IMAGE"), so that might give a hint of when was the app developed and how old the special plate idea might even be.24 points -

Howdy all, I haven’t posted on the forums since the RDR2 days but the recent leak has got me checking here daily again. I’ve even started looking back at some of the RDR2 finds to see if there was anything that we found back then for RDR2 that unintentionally may have related to VI. Here’s something, probably nothing: Back in October 2016, SAG-AFTRA (the union for actors that Rockstar use) went on strike and released two different lists of games in production at the time that would or wouldn’t be struck off. Games already in production as of Feb. 17, 2015 were not allowed to strike, games in production after this date were allowed to strike. The lists have since been removed but thanks to the wayback machine they can be found here: UNSTRUCK - Games already in production as of Feb. 17, 2015 We can see two different TAKE 2 INTERACTIVE games in production as of Feb. 17, 2015 on the unstruck list – “Lazarus a/k/a Lazer” but most notably the game titled “Dust a/k/a Dark Future & Aces High” that we since now know to be the codename(s) for RDR2. STRUCK – Games in production after Feb. 17, 2015 The only struck TAKE 2 INTERACTIVE game in production after Feb. 17, 2015 on this list is titled “Alligator”. We know that VI has the codename “Americas” and is set to take place in Vice City/Miami and potentially the surrounding areas of Florida - could “Alligator” be another codename for VI casting and a relation to the state of Florida? Jabulous & Spider-Vice then at the time discovered that you could search the SAG-AFTRA database, this database listed the production ID, production year & working title for many games. Many TAKE 2 INTERACTIVE games used to be on there but have since been removed unfortunately. This database list posted by Spider-Vice at the time shows TAKE 2 INTERACTIVE games with a production date between 2010-2016, it includes “Dust” (RDR2), “Lazer” (unknown) and others production titles speculated by Spider-Vice to be codenames for "Sao Paolo Nights" (Max Payne 3) & "Paradise" (GTA V): This database list posted by Jabulous shows TAKE 2 INTERACTIVE games with a production date between 2014-2017, neither “Dust” or “Alligator” shows up on this list. This would point to “Dust” (RDR2) going into production before 2014. I don't know why "Alligator" appears on the October 2016 struck off list as to being in production but not on the database list here, maybe it had just gone into production so had to have a strike notice but had not yet been added to the database? Unknown. It's a shame that the struck off list does not include the production ID for Alligator as it seems like Rockstar production IDs use A### instead of A#######. I also don’t know if the SAG-AFTRA production date is when Rockstar started working with SAG-AFTRA/actors or when the games officially go into production, I assume the former. Would Rockstar have even started casting for VI as far back as late 2016? What's to say that "Alligator" is even a Rockstar game and not another TAKE 2 studio. Something to speculate on that could just be nothing.24 points -
