The update felt like more an advertisement for Dre’s new album than anything. I don’t mind a heavy music focus, on occasion, but the last three updates have had strong music-oriented content. And either rap or nightclub music at that. Imagine if they had made a rock-oriented update, focusing on Los Angeles’ underground rock scene and the music history of the Sunset Strip and all that. Culminating in bringing back Love Fist as a fully-fledged music act. If Brendan Small can make Deathklok into a real band, then R* could’ve done the same for Love Fist.9 points -

I was digging through the SCM source file and, well... I've found out where "Life's a Beach" was originally supposed to occur! //m1_beach_party_x = 2872.26 //m1_beach_party_y = -2157.87 //m1_beach_party_z = 1.76 m1_beach_party_x = 526.84 m1_beach_party_y = -1885.19 m1_beach_party_z = 2.4 As you can see, the commented-out copy of the actually used variables contain a different set of coordinates. Let's put CJ there in-game and see where we go: Looks like the party was originally headed for the unnamed beach by Playa Del Seville rather than Verona Beach. The location was probably changed to make the mission easier for a number of reasons: 1. The drive from CJ's house to OG Loc's workplace is already long and tedious enough (unless you get enough cash early on to buy the Verona Beach safehouse near OG Loc's mission marker). 2. Playa Del Seville is much farther from OG Loc's marker than CJ's house, so it's even more tedious to get over there from OG Loc's. 3. The dancing part of the mission is fairly difficult in itself. Beginners can fail easily and have to restart all over again. 4. In fact, the target score for dancing differs between platforms. (2500 on PC is nothing... It's 4000 on PS2!) 5. Some people just overall suck at driving and playing the game on a controller probably makes everything a lot more tedious. Apparently, there are three unused subtitles in the GXT files that actually support this find (but they lack voice lines though): LOC1_CT - ~z~Seville always throw a good gig. LOC1_CU - ~z~Seville Families watching over us... LOC1_CV - ~z~Seville Boulevard throw the best parties, man. Since the said mission does additional manipulation to these base coords to spawn cars, peds, objects and particles, I decided to move the party back to it's BETA location and see how things roll: There! Not so bad, eh? WDYT? (Yeah, that drainpipe tho, WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE PARTY IN SEWAGE AND DOCKLAND WATER) Party music's audio zone (string name "BEACH") didn't move along because it's coords need manual change in "audiozon.ipl" and some static values in the mission code that are not dependent on the base variables still use the final location. Everything(?) completely works as R* intended because all the coords for the rest of the stuff are calculated from the base coords above. But this pile of wood begs to differ, however... Usually you can't have more than one "Service" big vehicle active at a given time, such as the Avenger or the Terrorbyte. The Kosatska is able to stay active while you have another special Service vehicle is use. While your Kosatska is active, you are forbidden to call another service, however grabbing one from it's place of origin (like the MOC from a Bunker), will not make the Kosatska desapear. This is useful for missions (imagine having access to your Kosatska and Avenger during a Piracy prevention), for PvP and PvE, and even for more trivial things like taking screenshots. So yeah you can land your Avenger on your Kosatska and do Cayo Perico preps with it.8 points -

I had the funnest time today - I randomly texted the entire lobby "bring your best 4x4 to the bottom of Chiliad and let's go off roading in the snow" 10 minutes later we had 12 players riding the trail to the top of Chiliad in a single file line and I saw some really neat 4x4 options. Then we proceeded to have a massive snow ball fight at the top of the mountain. Been playing this game for what, 7-8 years now and that was a top 10 moment for me6 points -

I 100 % stand behind this. Ever since R* started with dripfed vehicles, whenever that was, I just think the whole thing became an absolute drag. You get hyped and ready for the update to drop only to realize half or more of your most anticipated vehicles aren't even part of the launch. Instead you get major disappointment, then tedious waiting, then some more of it, until eventually everything has been released months later by which time the update has already aged, and is possibly even "done" for you (collectable trophies, awards, and so on). One anticipated car drop every few weeks or so is not enough to drag me back full-time. I wanted this and that car on day one when I actually engaged in that particular dlc gameplay. It's a real bummer. That's all there really is to it and quite frankly, I personally think that is a real crap system R* has implemented. This particular update barely offered anything in terms of material items (cars/clothing) that appealed to me to begin with, so holding on to whatever dripfeed vehicles they store atm just made this update even weaker to me as well. I needed every little piece I could enjoy on day one. Wise words. This is indeed a big problem. I remember when After Hours dropped and despite people begging for night clubs for a long time prior to it, most people seemed disappointed and just shat on that update. But in retrospect it really isn't a big question as to why that was. The bulk of its focus was put upon the DJ:s, music content, which isn't gameplay content. The music in turn only appealed to so many people, which is why I find it a bit odd that R* kept going with this design choice by releasing The Music Locker and then the Moodyman-centered crap. Now we have Dr. Dre who I believe appeals to a lot more players, but it's still too much music with limited appeal and almost like a secondary focus on actual gameplay. The FUN is just not there. At this point it seems R* is becoming more interested in pushing for some kind of music party simulator than a criminal one. Overall it's becoming a poorer experience with the way R* does these music-themed updates. Just look at the player night clubs or especially the Music Locker, they've been dead places pretty much ever since R* added them to the game. R* needs to rethink their future dlc designs if they're gonna stick with these music themes. We don't play GTA to partake in boring dancing "mini-games" at clubs or to watch cutscenes of Dr. Dre in the recording studio (as cool as I find it, being in the music/recording biz myself). I don't mind these features being in the game but it's minor side-content, not something more "major" like R* has pushed 'em as so far. It's kind of like R* trying to pull us into RDO by offering a can of free beans. Do they honestly believe those things are quality content and attractions?5 points -
