It has come to our attention that @HalfOfAKebab (Lewis) unfortunately passed away in his sleep between the evening of November 11th and the morning of November 12th. The name will no doubt ring bells amongst the GTA Online community, as Lewis was seen to be consistently helpful, patient and receptive. Despite his absence as of late, the name is still a familiar sight for those that browsed GTAForums during the release of many updates, most notably The Doomsday Heist, offering support, answering questions and generally contributing in a way that makes us proud to have had such a member for a relatively short time. We learned of this news via an update from a project he was involved in, the Minecraft Omniarchive, which was dedicated to preserving all updates of the game. The news of his passing is as sad as it is unexpected. He will be sorely missed and our thoughts here at GTANet are with his friends and family.

Quick heads-up, Rockstar updated qabeta2 hours ago. Just as I started to notice a pattern. The launcher was updated with this new change. Could be a launcher-only update? Anyhow, I assume we can go back to qabeta not being accurate enough. If you aren't up-to-date with what this all means, we basically tried to predict the release date by noticing the lack of qabeta2 updates. Usually, when the update is sent for certification, the build that was sent would be marked as the final one. Thus, the developer can't introduce any new changes other than pushing background fixes/updates. However, that's how it is with console manufacturers. Steam is an exception. But, Rockstar tends to treat it the same as consoles, since the update would launch on all platforms. Unless, a bug or an exploit of high severity was found exclusively on a certain platform, then Rockstar would treat that platform a bit differently. Anyhow, this recent qabeta update made some changes to the launcher. Launcher is PC specific. Could be either that or we're still a bit away from release.

A Nice concept to bring Vincebt back (wich i really want) is Opening the mall, he as a mallcop, could have all the Intel Regarding the business inside, for example clothing stores, food courts, car dealership, etc, maybe we can Buy a business inside the mall as a front and do like mini heists robbing the different stores inside the mall depending on múltiple factors, we might have rotating businesses each time with different approaches...just an idea...he might come back as a story missions like casino too...but opening the mall and robbing it sounds like more fun to me....Also opening the mall could Open much scenarios like having a bowling alley, airhockey, pool tables, more social spaces to hang out, and the return for usable food courts like cluckin Bell, burger shot, etc...another cool adittion could be a car dealership inside the mall, could make buying a car a more interesting experience rather than just buying cars from cellphone.

People on this forum and on other sites were laughing at Bollywood Tommy and various other f*ckups well before the game came out. If you didn't see a problem with the character models or the misaligned graphical design in the trailer, then I doubt you would see a problem with it now. And this isn't me justifying R*'s lack of transparency, it's the fact that if people paid more attention to the things they did release before the game came out, they wouldn't have wasted their money and be begging for refunds now.

Am I literally the only one who's noticed tail lights dont automatically turn on at night? Tail lights are not functional in DE. I haven't seen a single other person bring this up, ever. Not even in YouTube videos bashing the games. I guess zoomers dont drive these days.

After days of hard work trying to make a custom wheel, I just made the next level sorcery See this wheel? beautiful isn't it? It's just the mesh...using the game's default textures. I was having trouble adding custom materials so I adapted my UV to what the game already offers. And it looks more like metal than all the other metallic objects in the game. Haha: If this is true (along with the GTAO and RDO delays) then that kinda paints a horrifying picture of Rockstar as a whole. I mean GTAO updates usually aren't very good, they are lackluster in content, feel unpolished in gameplay and they love to introduce bugs that may or may not get fixed in the future. GTAO absolutely feels like a "B team game" where the "A team" of Rockstar is hard at work at GTA 6 or whatever the next big thing is while the GTAO people tend to mess up and underdeliver a lot. Now if they are helping GSG with polishing up the DE then that's really tragic because we know how that story will end. But hey, maybe the Kuruma will become bulletproof in GTA 3 DE.

You gotta be f*cking kidding me. They can't be serious. "Come on...", "The testers (R*) care I guess....." - yeah, they (GSG) are really passionate about their job and about their "remasters". Gosh, that's so bad, I can't really vocalize how angry I am. Their task is to remaster three of the most iconic video games ever made, and they have that kind of attitude. Seriously, they seem to deserve the sh*tstorm they get.

Many of us had the opinion before release that the art direction - particularly the character models - wasn't ideal, but if the games ran well and made some nice quality of life improvements, then it could still be a great product. The sloppy technical side, and the fact they were based on the mobile versions, couldn't be determined from pre-release materials. Yes the lack of gameplay and relatively quiet marketing was a red flag, but then again, the whole product cycle was unconventional with it being announced only a month before launch. It's easy to point fingers at fans for being optimistic pre-launch, but some of us choose to 'wait and see' with these things before writing them off before you really know the full picture. For the record, I didn't pre-order, but unless it's a limited physical release, I never pre-order anyway, it's pointless for digital products. But yeah, the whole situation is very disheartening as a Rockstar fan, I don't really respect them as a company anymore. It feels like the golden era of Rockstar is behind us.

I could believe that for most people, but I struggle to believe it for some here. There were quite a few individuals here who pre-ordered and bought the game on day one in spite of being made privy to the various concerns around it. Many of the warning signs that were brought up here were quickly dismissed as nitpicks. I remember certain individuals actually defending the lack of a gameplay trailer, or saying that there would be a day one fix for all the bugs in the leaked gameplay. It's awfully reminiscent of the whole Cyberpunk situation a year ago. While it's not on the same scale, it's interesting to see how quickly the perception changes. There were many warning signs before that game released too, and the same excuses were made. I guess what I'm trying to say is that gaming communities should be far more cautious. If you don't vote with your wallet, who else will?

I'm still shocked at how anyone thought this looked good in the first place. People deserve the rotten games industry they have.

The dialogue in GTA V is great, but the execution of most characters is what leaves to be desired.

If you paint the industry with a broad brush, sure. The same stuff is said about the music industry and it generally comes from the people who spout out stuff like "the corps have brainwashed people into liking what they put out", while moaning that there's no good music, or good games to play, or whatever. There's plenty of it in both industries, you just have to do something the people who cry brainwash are seemingly incapable of; thinking for your self and going out and finding what stuff you like. Again, this is an argument that tends to come from people who are guilty of what they're trying to say, it's steeped in irony. This line of thinking is as guilty of the "brain washed" stuff as the group you're supposedly calling out are. Note, before it gets thrown at me, I am not defending EA, Take-Two, Acti Blizzard et al, they're bad publishers who have become a rot in the industry, but they are not the industry. Loot boxes specifically, probably not. It's happening slower than we'd all like but there's increasing concern over the impact of loot boxes ie gambling in video games with some countries already regulating them or banning them. Gambling monetisation in games, especially all age games like sports games, Fortnite etc are not sustainable long term. Look at the bigger picture instead of the part of the picture you don't like. There's some massively successful games out there without any of the garbage, Minecraft (single player/online, limited mtx, huge modding community the devs support etc, relatively cheap), Skyrim, God of War, Horizon, Spider-Man, Forza Horizon 5, TLOU2, RDR2's SP, Nintendo titles, etc etc. There's loads of games that have found huge success, 10m+ sales etc, without having to resort to any of the modern garbage. Which leads me to my overall problem with this type of mentality, the people who complain about this prefer to sit on their horse and act all high and mighty as if they know better, it reminds of when I spent a week or two in a Discord for a flat Earth community, lol. I am completely onboard with calling out the garbage in the industry in an effort to improve it, I am completely onboard with that and support it entirely, but painting stuff with a broad brush by belittling an entire generation and slagging of the entire industry isn't a well thought out and put together opinion, it's brain washed garbage from the lowly parts of the internet.

Sometime ago I mentioned I wanted to make a small mod which fixes the GTA III FBI agents having FIB jackets. Thanks to a friendly chap on Reddit the FBI textures I cooked up finally show up ingame. I've put the mod up on Nexus. Enjoy!

Dude was active in quite a few communities, I personally saw him a bit in our little CoD speedrunning community - was a WaW runner and mod on speedrun.com, and he kicked around GTA speedrunning a fair bit as well; was chill as all hell and it was awful hearing this. RIP.

Unfortunately imo it's likely going to be sink and not swim C* billions in profits have made them too fat and low energy lazy. To point where even if Houser DID genuinely care about restoring C* back to it's VC/SA/GTA3/Bully etc glory days, the industry has rotted. To point where AAA Devs/publishers have brainwashed the new gen of gamers that MVPs ARE the norm. And loot boxes etc are the way of the future. Just look at the ongoing success of Fallot 76, CoD, etc. Those brainwashed younger gen gamers (90%+ born after 2000) haver never experienced a non MVP quality of gaming. So while many of them complain, they continue to make excuses/rationalize etc why AAA companies are being unfairly flamed on. And/or then continue buying $$$ microtransactions. There is a reason why Fortnite, DOTA, ESO, etc remain so popular globally to date...

I'm afraid, the E&E trailer was the final nail in the coffin for some before the DE even happened. They are just another publisher for me now. R* is only playing nice because someone finally got them by the balls.

i had a weird dream last night where they announced gta 6 with some "teaser footage" but it looked just like the trilogy DE on an unfinished map. and i cried of excitement in the dream. R* has to announce something soon before we all go insane

New time trials are welcomed, sewer tunnel time trial for example or windmill, some bridges etc. Plane time trials for another 100k is a nice idea.

Rockstar themselves... Sidenote, this info was released on the 8th of... October... That's all we officially know about this update. I remember the droughts of infos in the past, but usually with those we knew what we should expect...

What I just fail to get in this whole thing is this: why would Rockstar, a studio that has something like 2000 employees need to outsource development on a remaster to a studio that has 20 people? It just doesn't make sense to me and sure, they have GTAO, RDO, GTA 6 and whatever else in the works but come on, even with GSG's involvement they couldn't re-allocate or hire 100 people to make this trilogy into a great product? Cayo Perico was the biggest expansion to GTAO ever and even that's only like 3 cutscenes, a small ass island with 2 missions on it and a bunch of side content, how is it that there are no resources left for anything else and they have to outsource? Maybe we do have an industry problem where games got so megalomaniacally big that you need 2000 people to work on a new GTA for something like 8 years, I dunno but things seem fairly insane from the outside.

As you could read from the title, GSG actually remade CJ's iconic pants from scratch, but for some reason they didn't use them on CJ and instead they are only visible in clothing stores... ... Until now! I took the effort of finding this texture and put it on top of CJ's actual pants, but sadly, this texture wasn't made for CJ's pants at all (it looked like trash, basically), so i had to make a few adjustments to make it work on CJ's model and i think it came out good! I don't plan on selling any of my sealed games tbh, but I'll let you know if that changes. I have all my sealed games stored away in airtight crates for long term preservation but I might get them out one day for some pics edit: actually I did take a pic of a good chunk of my sealed games a couple of years ago, I'll post the pic below - this isn't the whole collection though, I have several other versions and a lot more merch which isn't included here. All of the games in this pic are sealed except for the big box PC versions on the left, and the RDR1 and Bully Scholarship Editions at the front aren't sealed, but I do own sealed copies of both. Also the promo copies aren't sealed but I don't think they were ever sealed. The craziest thing is that right now, we should be playing E&E...On PC we have early access since 2015. I was wondering, for how much, if you knew, you would give up all the info. For 25k in bitcoin, that's interesting, right? After verification of course. By the way, nothing to do with Rockstar, but the best way to capture moles is to trap them. Be careful, they have a good sense of smell. The changes for the nightclub, it's not rather for a prep ? like stealing something in a nightclub, like the prep in the penthouse for Cayo Perico ? Which would mean that there would be at least one new heist? who owns a nightclub with armed guards? DRE? a competitor ? So many questions, no hints, it's frustrating. The most important thing is, when is it coming out.

I think it could be a marketing issue. I believe the DLC is already going through certification. The reason they haven't mentioned anything is because it has been 2 chaotic weeks for them and I think anything that would've been teased would've been overshadowed by the failure of the Trilogy. R* is waiting for the heat to cooldown.

A massive server event where all 30 players need to decorate the big christmas tree in Legion Square. All the griefers, tryhards, modders, glitchers, grinders, cheaters, cosplayers, tuners and casuals sing christmas songs in unison while Lester adds the big christmas tree topper wich is made out of a giant MK2.

this is so true. im sorry to all the people that bought the trilogy and were disappointed. but i feel like rdo is more important than three super old games with a few touchups. red dead deserves the attention. and plus rockstar has so many studios. so why cant they have some people work on trilogy. and others make new rdo content. they need to do something with this game.

I hope we see Vincent from the Casino again. His cameo in the Heist setup was cool but brief. He did mention filing a wrongful termination against the Casino and if they settled or he won, he could have money to invest in a business. (Then again, not sure how the Diamond Casino isn't bankrupt with all the thefts and free cars they give out.)

Money. Because GSG isn't a part of Rockstar or owned by Take Two they don't have to pay them Rockstar/T2 employee salaries or benefits. So it was cheaper to outsource it instead of making Rockstar do it inhouse.

Not entirely true. I would agree that the average player was completely victimized here, which I think is your main point, and if so I agree with you. But many people like me in this forum saw this sh*t coming from a mile away. And NOT just the garbage character models and textures either. Those actually never bothered me that much. Though I will admit I took no end of delight and amusement with all the funny comments and memes people were coming up with before the launch. Truth be told, this game ALWAYS had ugly character models. I remember seeing the cartoony still shots in the loading screens of beautiful women, like Misty and Maria and Catalina, but in game, they were ugly as sin. This never bothered me back then, because it was the way things were in the PS2 era. So I wasn't expecting handsome men and beautiful women. But even the ugly characters notwithstanding, it became so obvious to anyone paying attention where this launch was headed. Look at the time line. An all out assault on the modders, particularly the map modders; very sketchy release of screenshots and one, lone trailer that was extremely non-informative; no reviews in the days leading up to launch; and what little the screens and video showed to showcase this, to be honest, didn't really look all that good. Don't get me wrong, it was still duplicitous as hell the way this was rolled out. You're right on that count. Because not everyone buying games or who is a fan of GTA has the same kind of savvy that most of us have here in the forums. I'm sure that Take2 knew very well that people like us would mostly not be fooled. Though on a side note, I am VERY surprised at how many people in this very forum actually were deceived, if I am completely honest. No, definitely. I was very cynical about this, and mocked much of the information they released before the actual launch. But even I had no idea how botched this Trilogy iteration would be. My position before launch was, They have some damned nerve charging $60.00 USD for this alleged remaster. But just how bad the final product would end up being actually even took me by surprise.

It was hard to tell because of how limited info/detail we got. We got a trailer that was basically showcase of the graphics and that was it. We didn't see any gameplay so it was hard to make any assumptions.

Maybe add insult to injury they won't even bother optimizing an already unoptimized game
