A Note/Update from Rockstar regarding the Trilogy Definitive Edition
Carbonox and 31 others reacted to Ash_735 for a topic
It's fair to say that as long as the court case is on going then there's going to be a continued split and hostility towards Rockstar Games. Time and time again modders were forward about willing to work with Rockstar to at least restore the classics, re3 and reVC was praised by many as being an easily accessible way for people to play these classics with modern day fixes. I can see people's pov on being angry and sarcastic towards Rockstar of all people asking people not to hate on them, as pointed out, this is the same people who let Take-Two send private investigators and illegally track down people around the world, threaten family members of modders, dox certain modders to get them to court, etc. However also worth noting, GSG could only do so much, the blame here lies with Rockstar and Take-Two, hell even in this apology they clearly stated this product wasn't up to their standards, which begs the question, if they know it wasn't good, then why are they surprised at the "unexpected" response here? This is all a PR game because Take-Two stock has dropped due to the response. Sadly the community is caught up in this mess and being honest, it's worst right here, most other gaming websites and forums are mostly agreeing that Rockstar messed up and that something needs to be done. However, GTANet seems to be dividing the staff against the members, in a desperate attempt to protect these games and paint anyone who complains about them as a "Toxic" gamer whis doxing staff and sending death threats, etc. The majority of people are not doxing, the majority have legit concerns, the entire PC userbase were forbidden from playing a game they paid full price for! I know at this point it doesn't need pointing out but sadly and frustratingly GTANets reputation has been dragged through the dirt with the triple shot of blaming the mod community, boasting how great E&E is and now doing all they can to shift the blame of the DE onto the fans for expecting a good product. Perhaps the staff here should ask themselves some hard questions, if you hate most of us as much as you say on Twitter, and you don't want to offend Rockstar, then what bloody good are you? You made your bed with words like "Actions have consequences" and the months upon months of hyping these products up, remember "It's Rockstar Dundee making these", "There will be more music", "These won't be mobile ports", etc, etc, you whip people up into a frenzy and when the "haters" are proven right once again you go and blame the community "well you shouldn't have expected those things, that's your fault". People are angry, and since GTANet don't want to help control that but instead try and ignore it then people will seek alternative ways to get their point across, which sadly can lead to things getting out of hand. Take some responsibility for your role in this GTANet if you're now going to continue to hate on your users and say that most of us need psychiatric help.32 points -

Dont put all the critics of the DE in the same basket as well with regards to harassing devs personally. I'd say 99.99% did nothing of the sort. Its not something I condone. Its not even the devs fault imo. I feel blame lies with some suit wearing dudes at T2 who have never picked up a controller. Edit: everything Ash said.21 points -

Its digressed to a point where companies can release broken boarderline unplayable games with the promise of "we'll fix that in the future" and expect no blowback I miss the ps2 days for that. The standards were so much higher for initial release because once a game was released that was IT. The game had better work well on day one or it would bomb. A double edged sword I know, but the current circumstances has me avoiding games for the first few months of release because they're usually f*cked and I prefer to play games once they've got a bit of polish.21 points -

for those that STILL don't get it, criticizing the game or even Rockstar is fine, HARASSING DEVS AND/OR DOXXING DEVS IS NOT OK. harassing individual devs on social media is NOT being critical of them, it's harassment and it's effing gross, and anyone defending it saying "they deserve it" is just as gross.17 points -

Wildbrick was digging up some old files. I did the same and came across these old findings. Kinda crazy reading them up showing the potential of Cops n Crooks. Although, from these texts alone, the missions sounds as basic as the contact missions we had at launch. Also, it sounds like the game was originally planned to have 32 players at launch. Splitting 16 players into the Cops side and the rest into Crooks.16 points -

For this point I've tried in the past. You can look at past events where trying to be nice and kind with certain members of staff just resulted in "OK, maybe we'll look at it in future" only for it to never happen. It does feel like in recent years there's been a steady slip towards to just laying in bed with Rockstar and not wanting to challenge them. And yes I know I could be more kind at times but that kindness is never shown back to me, I have a huge following because I've stood up for the modding the community and I've been one of the long time vets of this community to fight back against actions that are not cool. Which leads to frustration as this place used to be a big breeding ground for the modding community but right now, even though the new modding thread is one of the busiest around (according Spider-Vice) there's still a massive amount of the community who don't want to come back here or touch GTANet at all due to previous actions despite me trying to encourage them to come back here. I'd actually prefer to speak to BlackScout in private actually, I think he has my Discord. And this I somewhat agree with, we're constantly being pitted against each other and as I have stated before, it's only, oddly, this place that seems to be doing so. Other gaming websites and forums seem to settle into an agreements that Rockstar messed up, this apology is a PR stunt and that Rockstar seriously need to do better. But here we've got people arguing over the tone, about being ungrateful because the response is not what they wanted, staff members being smug, people on both sides throwing insults at each other. Rockstar throws out a scrap and suddenly we're all back to arguing with each other again and the overall situation is down to stubbornness, certain people don't want to change their views, certain people don't want to acknowledge events that have happened, etc, etc. You're right, there IS a divide, but what's different here compared to other places? The staff! And if in return that's making people become more argumentative and responding more harshly then perhaps some people need to look at why that is. As mentioned in the past, even though Kirsty has clarified she's currently working on an article, it always feels like GTANet has an excuse as to NOT post anything negative about Rockstar or Take-Two, once or twice you could chalk it up to life in general, but multiple times at this point? This is also the same website that stated on Social Media that the GTAO Tuners update was good for Mental Health! It feels like there needs to be more balance on the staff but from what I've heard the rest have been driven away. I guess all of this is just a bunch of frustrated people shouting in the end because we no longer see eye to eye on how this should be handled, and it is sad in the end, GTAF is basically my second "home" for GTA and Rockstar stuff after the years I worked at GTAGaming. So to see what it's currently being used for and who's representing this community now is jarring. I would LOVE for this place to be more in agreement, I'd love to be able to convince modders to come back, or entice new modders to this place, the Definitive Editions are ridiculous easy to modify right now and that could be a nice side boost in traffic if GTANet and GTAF were to promote that BUT promote it via threads here instead of other places that modders have gone to. But as long as this court case continues, no one asking Rockstar about it and the modding community avoiding GTANet like the plague it feels like there is going to be some lingering hostility. And to note: It should be obvious I don't encourage doxing or anything of the sort, hell the only thing I found out recently was that apparently one of the staff at GSG have a modding account on Nexus Mods, which tbh I find cool.15 points -

So you expect me to believe that someone played GTA3, saw the rain clipping through the police enforcer, and thought this isn't a bug? Or how about the rain being f*cked to hell and back? Rockstar, your bullsh*t doesn't work on me. You fully knew what this release is going to be like and no I don't blame Grove Street devs for this clusterf*ck piece of garbage of a product. I am 100% sure they knew about all the issues but couldn't do much due to how small their studio is and the strict deadline for release. Only way to make this right is to relist the classics on steam and other stores like psn and MS, drop the bullsh*t lawsuit against re3 team and apologize to them. What a shameful company you have become. No wonder so many of the original heads have left.15 points -

Some of the defence of, justifying, excusing, or whatever, in here regarding the harassment is shocking. Now the mods here are getting both barrels too. What a joke we're becoming as a community. It's time to step back folks. R* have said they'll address things, all we can do is wait and see just how they do with that, until then, there's not much to say really. I can agree the proof is in their actions now but we need to give them time to address things too. But it's gonna be a long wait while we have to sieve through this poison. I get it, the modding community is pissed, people don't like the remasters, and others want new games, the online modes irk some, the company doesn't speak out to us enough. That's all fair enough of course. But it really feels like no matter what had of happened with these remasters, or if/when they speak out, because the modders feel attacked and the 'GTA VI now' mob are bitter, people were just waiting to tear into the company regardless, and from some, they went too far in the name of being an R*/GTA fan. I don't understand why more of us aren't pissed off at that to be honest. We've got arseholes being arseholes in our community's name. That's insulting to me. But instead, now more than ever people are turning on each other over it and it's bloody awful to see a community so divided because of some poisonous behaviour from arseholes acting in the name of GTA fans to attack and push our favourite developer to ask for it to stop. Also, I don't need the moderators here to rush up articles for me to have my say, that's not why I use these forums. I don't need them to support me, just moderate if things go too far or put up threads to enjoy etc. I've got this platform to use my own voice if I see fit and I'm glad we're allowed a space for that. If the moderators put up an opinion, I don't take that as an opinion of all the staff here, just the person posting it (weather I agree or not is irrelevant). I don't see why we need them to speak for us. Sure, if/when they do, great, but they're not obliged to by me at least. We've got the space here to speak for ourselves. And more so, I don't see why they can't just have a laugh with us too (regarding that wall of shame fun earlier). If you post, you post publicly and if you post stupidly in a public space, there's no harm in a little light ribbing. Anyway, R* know this is the biggest GTA community so they know where to go to get a sample of the reception/mood of their biggest fans, plus all the review specific sites have their info out there too. It's not hard to see the game got a virtual bashing without the moderators here rushing to do the same. That said, we all know how quiet R* has become and I don't see it as a bad thing if these forums moderators and staff try something different. Many criticized the interview not long ago for not asking the tougher questions, and though I would like some asked, I do feel it's possible they guys here getting the chance to talk to R* are playing a longer game to build trust and good faith to eventually lead to us as a community having more of a chance to have more questions answered. That takes time. Before that, we were getting nowhere, so maybe it could be a good thing long term that the staff here aren't burning bridges. Though I do also feel it's only fair to give things time and for us to await what volunteer staff are going to post up regarding overall reviews. People work, have families, a life etc. Plus not everyone that's a member here immediately comes in with their POV as they're playing or life gets in the way. And they really need to know all the facts and play through the games themselves to have a more reasonable view overall. So them not posting a critical (or positive/more neutral) review immediately isn't an issue I feel. This place is far bigger than a game review site so those other sites have to rush up articles otherwise they've got nothing and get no clicks/ad revenue etc. That isn't a problem here though so they can take their time. Sorry for the ramble, just a shame to see it all falling apart over this really.14 points -

A half assed apology like this means nothing, its completely useless and many devs who f*cked up have done it in the past few years but almost none of them delivered (Hello games with No Man's Sky is the only example I can think of). Crazy how gullible people here are and of course admins here are already protecting Rockstar yet again (they were sh*tting on any criticism before the release as well).. maybe I'll get banned for this but I have to wonder, do they get paid or what? Also harrassing the devs is obviously 100% wrong but this is the internet, there will always be some morons doing stupid sh*t like that. You can't stop that. But constantly whining about this is just a way to invalidate any criticism towards divisive sh*t (happened before with The Last Jedi or The Last of us 2)12 points -

Way lower than Rockstar usual quality standards, this Remastered GTA Trilogy Collection shouldn't have been released in it's current state, which is nothing less than a pale and massacred copy of the original masterpieces released in the 2000's. The GTA franchise deserves way better quality and polish than this, especially when it's coming from R* Games, one of the best videogame studios of its time and who is used to develop his games as needed. Also, it's very saddening to see how the amazing GTA modding community who is capable of making incredible creations and even fixes for old games being treated like that by this company while they're only passionate and dedicated fans who want nothing but the best for their beloved franchise, most of the times without the idea of piracy or hacking, and for FREE. Rockstar Games is one of the leaders of the videogame market and should take the time to reconsider its policy regarding not only the modding community, who is capable of making outstanding creations and tweaks, but also the remaster of their own games who shouldn't be given to a third-party studio with way less means to make games as the same quality as Rockstar Games. Thanks for reading me, and please consider this very seriously in the future. Best Regards from a very concerned fan.12 points -

I'm considering doing a Main SCM for SA with some simple fixes like -Fixing the Muscle and Fat animation from not being activated -Giving gang members guns when they see you with one (Old fix I did for the original SA) -Homies extended control: Like ordering them to stay in the car, to hate dealers, to hate every gang, or to be peacefull towards them) -Having a panic area when you fire a Gun, where everyone clears out, and there's no people spawning behind you like nothing is happening (You'll need to go somewhere else for pedestrians to appear) -Getting wanted if a cop patrolling around that panic area sees you, since he must have heard the shots. -Fixing a few issues with Burglaries like Being able to reenter a house where you were detected. Maybe: -The ability to start the pimp mission in any car you want by pressing the keys P I M -Looting corpses with CJ saying the same things he says when he pick ups money, for a more realistic "robbin" experience -Robbin 24/7 like in VC -Being able to disable gang wars with keypresses so that you can shoot gang members without triggering them. -Being able to rob pedestrians in the streets while aiming a gun to them. -Being able to pay the homies so that they have max stats, like dual guns and no reaction to shots. -Being able to escape the police by driving away With optional mods like -Being wanted for speeding -Being wanted if a cop sees you with a weapon -Gang reinforcements (Gang cars arriving when you shoot a gang member) -Gang attacks (Gangs hitmans attacking you in cars randomly anywhere in the map like in VC stories) Mind you this are ALL my mods, most of them are already done, I just need to add them to the Main script. Damn, looks like I was right again. It always amazes me how easy it is to manipulate the general public. The corporate PR damage control did exactly what it was designed to do - subconsciously shift attention away from R* f*ckups (arguably one of the biggest f*ckups they ever had) and make themselves look like the real victims... (even tho they are the ones who caused all of this mess) I mean just look at this topic alone. Over 15 pages and almost Every. Single. Post. focuses on this supposed harassment they mentioned instead of talking about the main topic we should be discussing here right now- What they can actually fix at this point? But instead, almost every single mod and admin (and some users) in this place comes down here just to virtue signal on the internet and talk down to innocent people (who had nothing to do with this supposed "harassment") just so they can take a moral high ground by throwing everyone they disagreed with into the same bag because "toxic gamers bad" and "harassing people is bad m'key? So don't do it!". Talking down to all of you like you are some dumb little children who didn't realize harassment is a bad thing... And as soon as someone tries to point it out they pretend that wasn't their intent. Like they didn't spend the last couple of months literally gas lightning the whole community, calling us names and insulting everyone who had even the smallest concerns about the look of those remaster (just think what they are doing behind the closed doors). All of this just looks like a huge cope is you ask me. Oh sure, because we all know trolls who harass people online will simply stop because you(/huge corporation) asked them to stop, right? As I said earlier, we both know people who do it are either immature young kids or people with serious, serious issues. Either way, asking them to stop won't help. No one in the whole thread was "waving the issue away" or whatever you kept saying previously... Every single person in here tried to say basically this: (4:30-6:00) So the real question is, whats even the point of bringing it up over and over again since we know talking about it won't help? R* mentioned it to shift attention away from the real issue and get some sympathy points (apparently it worked pretty well). But everyone else? They just got baited into it, the plan worked. But it goes deeper than that. What was the point of bringing up harassment and making up irrelevant imaginary stories about rape, suicides and murders and all that? Why keep bringing those kind of things in a simple civil discussion about video games with people who had nothing to do with that kind of stuff? Well, they all just using those serious issues as a tool to make themselves feel better about doing nothing at all. Textbook virtue signaling. This whole f*cking thread reminds me Bill Burr's standups: edit: The whole thing reminds me of Disney Star Wars trilogy. After the failure of TLJ the whole internet was filled with critical reviews and memes about how bad the trilogy was. And as soon as people started reporting on the failure of Solo (cause by the TLJ backlash), suddenly every single disney owned "journalist" started reporting on the supposed harassment of one actress (even tho it supposedly happened almost a year after the release... the timing just didn't make sense, not a single picture of evidence either. Very convenient coincidence, don't you think?) . The next day? literally no one on the internet was talking about the failure of Disney SW, now everyone was blaming "toxic fans" for the failure of those movies and everyone who didn't like them was suddenly "a racist sexist biggot!". Years later it turned out she removed her social media for a different reason and it had nothing to do with "harassment from toxic sw fans", the whole story was a huge PR stunt just to sell more tickets. Its an old tactic, im surprised people still fall for it in 2021.11 points -

I said it in the T2 vs Modding thread and I'll say it here again: Rockstar's apology is nothing more than vague corporate-speak. It pays zero attention to the modding controversy, the lawsuits and harassment of modders, the greedy marketing practices and more. Sure they're promising things, but those of you who will straight up accept their apology shouldn't be surprised if they pull this stunt again. They are manipulating the narrative to paint themselves as the victims and honestly it's nothing more than pathetic. Rockstar Games' apology in a nutshell:11 points -

> Returning OG only on RGL > Only in a bundle > Only on PC > DE buyers will only get it for free if they have bought it before June 30th, 2022 > Only acknowledging the bugs, but not the fact that even without the bugs, DE still looks, sounds and plays like sh*t I do not accept this "apology". At the very least, they should've done the same thing that 2K did with BioShock and Mafia II remasters and bundled OG with DE forever, on every platform. Right now it's a minimal effort PR damage control, nothing honest.11 points -

Yes, see 2017 when Rockstar Games stepped in to advise Take-Two to drop the current court cases against the OpenIV Devs and when Rockstar brokered the agreement between the modding community and Take-Two. Of course over time we're left to assume that it was Dan Houser himself asking this, now that he's gone there might not be anyone left at Rockstar who's happy with the modding side of things.11 points -

Bro you were downplaying the issues to the point where you was near enough calling people bandwagon jumpers for pointing out issues with these versions of the game. Now your tone is all like "well I guess you complainers and moaners got what you wanted scum, but I shall continue to play the DE versions that I have enjoyed very much and had no issues with!". Ever think your reputation is there for a reason?11 points -

Here are my thoughts on this. While we can all agree that this whole situation could’ve and should’ve been avoided in the first place I actually admire R* for coming out and admitting they screwed up. You could say that the intense backlash, generally poor reviews etc was simply too much to sweep under the rug so they had to act upon it, but it’s a positive sign they just didn’t ignore the entire situation and carried on like normal. There are a few words in this article that kinda of point to PR damage control like “unexpected technical issues” and the quality of the games not reaching their standards, but I think the rest of the article is spot on. It’s cool they’re re-listing the OG games (though they should never been removed in the first place). Hopefully they restore them on all storefronts. Lastly the thing about the dev harassment on social media is unfortunately not that surprising. I’ve seen a lot of that over the last few days and it really gives the community a bad image. If you want to be critical do it in a respectful and mature manner. Don’t be an insufferable f*ckwit launching an assault behind the safety of your computers to harass people who are only trying to do the best they can. As someone who’s been playing these games since release I still think Grove Street Games were thrown under the bus. There are clearly parts of the games that have received a lot of love and care and other parts that have “work in progress” vibes where it feels like the devs were probably aware of the issues, but done the best they could in order to meet the truncated deadline. In short it’s Cyberpunk 2077 all over again where the devs have been let down by higher ups with crunch/impossible to meet a deadline assuring a higher level of quality is met or not being given adequate support by R*/Take 2. In closing now this is all on the table it’s up to R* to keep to these promises and to work alongside Grove Street Games in order to ensure the updates address the key issues that have been uncovered because I honestly love the games and have enjoyed every second I’ve been playing them.10 points -

Good grief. I thought (stupidly) that I would come back today and people would be acting more maturely. I guess not. Some of you definitely are being respectful of others and are trying to keep things civil, but quite a few aren’t. I still can’t believe people can get this defensive and argumentative over a statement as basic as “please don’t harass devs”. But the amount of hoops people are jumping through still to defend that kind of behavior is disgusting. And yeah, there IS a difference between being a dick on a forum and sending death threats. I don’t think anyone is actually saying those are the same thing here. But why the hell is it so hard for people to understand that BOTH shouldn’t be happening and should be called out? People are on here acting like “just because I didn’t threaten a dev directly, it’s totally ok for me to be an absolute asshole to everyone I disagree with.” It’s literally this simple: Why can’t people be respectful to each other? Period. We shouldn’t have to have over 15 pages of people trying to justify bullying and harassment, playing the “no you” game, and bending over backwards to argue about how right they are and how wrong everyone else is. And since people are now trying to paint this as a mods vs. community thing, most online communities have really sh*tty moderators that make their respective communities pretty horrible to take part in. This isn’t one of them. For the most part, this forum has some of the most reasonable and levelheaded mods I’ve ever seen, and if anything, I’m impressed with how lenient they have been lately. Some of you should be getting banned on the spot for your actions, but they’ve been trying their best to keep things civil and allow everyone a chance to speak their peace. And for most people here, all has been well. But for others, it looks like you’re taking advantage of the situation and being as hateful and disrespectful as you can get away with. I don’t know what to say anymore, this is about the only forum I ever take part in these days, I’ve been here for almost 14 years I believe under a few different names, and this always felt like a home to me. I disappear for long stretches when life gets in the way, but anytime anything happens GTA related, I always come back. I’ve been so disappointed in the way this community has been acting the last couple weeks. Again, most of you are awesome - and that goes for users and mods. But still, a good deal of you are ridiculous and need to grow up, stop being pricks, and treat others with respect. End rant.9 points -

This could be attributed due to how fast things move these days, which is what I've pointed out, GTANet is always super fast to repost anything Rockstar says from promo stuff to things that make them look good as well as act fast in getting positive responses up for GTA content, most of us noticed this went into overdrive during the GTAO Tuners update where suddenly multiple times a day you had not just the GTANet social media but staff social media retweeting and constantly saying how amazing and how much they loved the content and how much they're looking forward to it and how great it's going to be for the community, etc. Contrast that with bad news or events and suddenly it's radio silence and "We're going to take a few weeks to look over things before we might make a post". So of course people are going to ask which is it, how can you be too busy to look at the negative stuff but be retweeting and commenting on positive stuff within minutes of Rockstar posting and having articles up within a day or two? And that's me RELAYING this question by the way, there's been plenty of people asking that. The internet moves fast and people want action right away, so GTANet's stance feels somewhat suspicious and shifty to other people especially when you've got YouTubers, gaming websites, etc, getting in touch with specific people, asking questions, etc, to signal boost what's going on in a short burst of time. But this fall back on the staff blaming the "community" in some respect which again is going to cause blowback from said community. Sure you can argue that there's more passionate people and more argumentative, etc, but at some point it's going to be the frustration with certain staff members who seem to be near delusional in protecting a billion dollar company that's going to cause people to respond in a more negative tone. That's something generic gaming forums do not have, and that's why most other forums often fall in agreement that Rockstar and Take-Two are to blame. To add to the first point, one of the staff members here once said that the reason they're not going to post about the modding situation was because other major gaming websites had already done so, I mean what kind of bullsh*t is that, if a new GTA gets announced and every websites posts about it before GTANet you sure as hell won't get the staff using that excuse "Well the other websites have mentioned the newly announced GTA so we don't have to". What seems to be ignored here is that all of this is linked, the DE situation, the modding take down, E&E, etc, it all stems from Rockstars inability to want to communicate and work with the modding community like other developers do. These are dubbed the "Definitive Edition" and yet contain bugs that have been fixed by modders for over 8 years now! And the stance with GTAF seems toi have started around the same time, downplaying the modding take downs, praising E&E, downplaying any criticism of E&E, praising and spreading rumours about the Definitive Edition, initially downplaying criticism of the Definitive Edition, eventually giving in and accepting that these could be bad but still having members of staff saying "Well it works for me", etc. So yes, both sides are ground into place because I'm guessing the staff side of it feels like they've been mistreated or targeted meanwhile the community feels like they've been mistreated and targeted. We all feel bad and this is something we're supposed to enjoy!9 points -

@Ash_735 Fwiw, my two cents; You're right that members of staff haven't always acted as they should in recent months, there's been posts made that should never have been made. However, the same can very easily be said of you. You mention GTAF is diving the community, staff vs members, whatever, but from where I'm sitting you're doing the same thing as well. You're a well known and respected long time member of the community, in terms of individual influence you have just as much as an individual admin I'd say, however instead of using that in a attempt to unite the community from what 'm sitting you seem to be using it to try burn down aspects of the community you don't like. Look at your interaction with BlackScout above, you went straight for the jugular when you could easily have explained your reasoning for not showing proof (of which I personally don't think you'd be banned for at all, but that's my belief) in a reasonable manner. And look, I get it, I get why GTAF staff have made mistakes in some of the things they've said, we put up with a lot of sh*t and sometimes frustration gets the better of us, likewise you're seeing something you poured a lot of time into out of pure passion get dragged away while at the same time being involved in a legal battle which I have no doubt is stressful. I get it, so I don't really hold any of it against anyone. But I mean seriously man, is this really the fight we as a community should be having? I'm not saying or do I ever expect that all of the community will ever see eye to eye, that's impossible, but IMO we should always be working to create a level of respect towards each other so we can act civily and maturely when the community needs us to. Not... whatever the hell this has been over the past few months (or years, at this point). This has done nothing but divide the community even further and if GTAF staff have played a part in that so have you. All sides need to do better in this.9 points -

I'm tired of people shifting the blame from Rockstar. Is it really not obvious by now? "Bu-but GSG made the remaster!!!!" "b-b-but take 2 sued all those modders!!" Yeak ok, but who do you think has been pulling the strings this whole time? Who was the one who looked at this product and thought "yeah sure whatever ship it, people will buy it anyways". Oh I just love how overblown out of proportion those kinds of things get... You srsly don't see they playing you here? Its a classic move, people (and companies) do it all the time. Make yourself look like the victim to get sympathy points and shift attention away from the real issue. How many times movie studios tried to pull the same exact thing? Either by completely fabricating it or overblowing some stupid comments made by 3 kids on the internet. Your a mod here, you should know better than anyone else that internet it full of immature little 12y old kids who "f*cked your mom and their dads work at Nintendo". No one ever takes internet threats seriously. Everyone gets them, you don't even have to be a celebrity to get hate for no reason. Im sure you got some stupid threats as well. And its never taken seriously unless someone wants to conveniently use it as leverage. We all know how you behaved in the last couple of months regarding the whole DE thing. Yes, unexpected. By unexpected they mean that they litigated the crap out of the map modders for the crime of making GTA maps from these games that are ten time better than the toxic waste they released, and wanted to make sure that GTA fans wouldn't see what these maps could actually look like. By unexpected they mean a review embargo making certain that this game would sell only on name recognition, filling up their coffers before people could possibly know what a steaming pile-o-dogsh*t they were actually buying. By unexpected, they mean releasing almost no pre-launch videos and screenshots By unexpected, they mean that they intentionally handed this lazy-ass port to a mobile-swipe dev company all of 20 employees deep, with zero experience on actually making GTA games By unexpected, they mean basing this Trilogy iteration NOT on the OG games, but the buggy mobile ports of this game in all their weird, glitchy glory By unexpected, they mean using automatic software to upscale all the graphics, and couldn't be bothered to delay the launch when they realized what garbage these games ended up being in the final cut By unexpected, they mean almost complete silence by both the mobile devs and Rockstar/Take2 for almost a week after this completely botched launch By unexpected they mean they knew they would have most of our money by the time everyone realized what they were buying. Yeah, this was completely unexpected. Didn't you know that?9 points
