Now your tone is all like "well I guess you complainers and moaners got what you wanted scum, but I shall continue to play the DE versions that I have enjoyed very much and had no issues with!". No one should be harassed or targeted for this, that much is clear, we don't know what circumstances or the contract states. Even the wording in this apology is odd "not to our standards" as if they weren't overseeing the project? Come on Rockstar. Do note that we're also on a forum that refused to acknowledge the brokenness of these versions. How come, once again, GTANet is the only website to not have an article out about this? Let me guess "Well other bigger websites have covered it so we didn't feel the need to".29 points -

1 and 3 - Correct arrangement of trees. 4 - the sky and behind the house is empty, there are no other buildings. 2 - The houses are almost one-to-one in shape, with only minor changes from Rockstar. I'm 200 percent sure Rockstar teases us with GTA 6 and the city of Miami in it. And it's also clear that Rockstar added something of their own, like 2 palm trees in the center and flower beds.26 points -

Oh I just love how overblown out of proportion those kinds of things get... You srsly don't see they playing you here? Its a classic move, people (and companies) do it all the time. Make yourself look like the victim to get sympathy points and shift attention away from the real issue. How many times movie studios tried to pull the same exact thing? Either by completely fabricating it or overblowing some stupid comments made by 3 kids on the internet. Your a mod here, you should know better than anyone else that internet it full of immature little 12y old kids who "f*cked your mom and their dads work at Nintendo". No one ever takes internet threats seriously. Everyone gets them, you don't even have to be a celebrity to get hate for no reason. Im sure you got some stupid threats as well. And its never taken seriously unless someone wants to conveniently use it as leverage. We all know how you behaved in the last couple of months regarding the whole DE thing. And we are can see what you trying to do here. Weak attempt.24 points -

Yes, unexpected. By unexpected they mean that they litigated the crap out of the map modders for the crime of making GTA maps from these games that are ten time better than the toxic waste they released, and wanted to make sure that GTA fans wouldn't see what these maps could actually look like. By unexpected they mean a review embargo making certain that this game would sell only on name recognition, filling up their coffers before people could possibly know what a steaming pile-o-dogsh*t they were actually buying. By unexpected, they mean releasing almost no pre-launch videos and screenshots By unexpected, they mean that they intentionally handed this lazy-ass port to a mobile-swipe dev company all of 20 employees deep, with zero experience on actually making GTA games By unexpected, they mean basing this Trilogy iteration NOT on the OG games, but the buggy mobile ports of this game in all their weird, glitchy glory By unexpected, they mean using automatic software to upscale all the graphics, and couldn't be bothered to delay the launch when they realized what garbage these games ended up being in the final cut By unexpected, they mean almost complete silence by both the mobile devs and Rockstar/Take2 for almost a week after this completely botched launch By unexpected they mean they knew they would have most of our money by the time everyone realized what they were buying. Yeah, this was completely unexpected. Didn't you know that?24 points -

So you expect me to believe that someone played GTA3, saw the rain clipping through the police enforcer, and thought this isn't a bug? Or how about the rain being f*cked to hell and back? Rockstar, your bullsh*t doesn't work on me. You fully knew what this release is going to be like and no I don't blame Grove Street devs for this clusterf*ck piece of garbage of a product. I am 100% sure they knew about all the issues but couldn't do much due to how small their studio is and the strict deadline for release. Only way to make this right is to relist the classics on steam and other stores like psn and MS, drop the bullsh*t lawsuit against re3 team and apologize to them. What a shameful company you have become. No wonder so many of the original heads have left.22 points -

They're bringing back the old games because it's ""unmoddable"" on the Launcher! Fake, they're not gonna update the games, it's gonna be a mess anyway! f*ck me.20 points -

uNi you have to admit from an outsider's pov it constantly looks odd how GTANet will instantly post about the positive things and whatever Rockstar wants to promote but when it comes to major issues against the community or consumers, somehow, GTANet takes two to three weeks to mention it in their page. It often feels like this place is scared to post first and wants to wait for other websites to post instead. In the past week we've got reviews, talks about how bad these versions are and straight up swinging into how the modding community is already releasing fixes, sidenote that people making these mods want to avoid GTANet for reasons.19 points -

Unexpected and a step in the right direction. However, this is gonna be a Cyberpunk 2077 situation. First impressions are really important as always stated by game devs themselves. Rockstar screwed up at that part. Bug fixes alone wouldn't bring back the tons of players who were anticipating this. If Rockstar is aiming to put more resources into fixing this, may as well introduce improvements and quality of life changes. Also, a surprise to see them mention the classic games and bringing them back. This, at least, raises the chances of the likelihood of Rockstar addressing the modding situation. No Mans Sky is an example of a game that had terrible launch, but eventually managed to restore its popularity. But, that took a lot more than fixing bugs. A strong commitment to address community concerns. If Rockstar is planning to proceed into a similar path, addressing the modding community would be one of the needed steps.17 points -

I'm not about to defend harassing developers. What I am going to do is politely remind everyone that this is a company that has been going around harassing people in the mod community, sending private investigators to their homes, and effectively doxxing them in court documents by revealing their identities. Them getting prissy over harassment is pretty f*cking hypocritical given their actions in recent years.17 points -

I thought everyone who expected an actual acknowledgement because of the state of the releases was a shill and only everyone else who expected them to go into hiding and say "f*ck you" to the fans was realistic? lmfao. Good to see it acknowledged, it was more than obvious they would go ahead with fixes and improvements to the Trilogy after it was supposed to be one of the biggest remaster releases of the year. And once again gaming communities showing their true colours by harassing developers personally instead of criticising the games, as if that's going to solve anything. Absolutely shameful to be a part of gaming communities sometimes, really. Great to see the originals are also coming back for those who really want to try them or play them instead. I personally, despite their many issues, have been enjoying the DE's, especially on the visual side (save for a few environment art issues especially in San Andreas), so I will continue playing them and looking out for patches.17 points -

The rendering of a house is very similar in style to the rendering of a picture in RDR 2. Under the hood, every game engine has their own way to render things and this gave the engine different looks of objects and scenes compared with other engine. You can take in-engine screenshot of the same exact trees, clouds, mountains and sea in different engines under the same lighting condition and able to differentiate which is RAGE which is from Unreal Engine, or CryEngine. This sky, clouds is so much like RDR 2. And I don't think it's a coincidence they shows a modern house and Sabal Palm trees that resembles that in Florida. I think everyone will agree that the house is not with RDR 2 and most likely this is a hint of GTA 6.17 points -

Gonna be honest, I don't really like the negative responses to the "be civil" part - it'd be an appropriate response if they used it as part of the apology, or just didn't apologise and deflected; instead, they have the full apology there: we're sorry we f*cked up, here's how we f*cked up, here's what we're doing to remedy that. And while they're there, they added one single bit saying "also please stop harassing the devs", which I would hope most people acknowledge is a perfectly fair thing to ask for. It's not "you're all f*cked, f*ck you", it's not "feel sorry for us", it's not "we didn't f*ck up you're all just a bunch of meanies", it's basically the bare minimum you'd expect if they've found their devs Not Having A Good Time because of a bunch of f*ckwits.15 points -

The entire fanbase is not made of one person just because I shared my thoughts on the matter. I don't even know if there is anyone that mentioned this so far other than me. There is no need for the antagonism towards my post just because I feel that way. After all I haven't been going at people post launch to laugh at them for liking the game, like several people have done, here or elsewhere. As you once said numerous times on the other threads, respect other's views. Good on them for recognizing the issues, though. Gonna be exciting to see what they fix in their update... and what files they encrypt, since they did that for the Switch port.15 points -

Because they love this series and don't want to see it suffer, and have the balls to speak up about things that annoy them? Don't see how one should affect the other. You can still like a product while being unhappy with what the people behind it are doing to it. Just taking your ball and going home because they do some unlikeable things isn't very productive. People should always make their voices heard.14 points -

I find their promise to fix the game the most interesting, because the game is clearly broken at its core. What exactly are these newfound "quality standards" for rockstar games? Will they actually take the time to fix EVERYTHING over the course of a very long period of time in the style of No Man's Sky or will it be another case of "Patch notes: Added 1080p resolution" while the community once again fixes everything just to get it up to the state that it should have been in the first place? Time will tell. Also I just noticed that it doesn't say anything about the other platforms. Why is PC the only one to get the classic versions back?14 points -

Rockstar's ""apology"" is one of the worse examples of corporate speak I've seen yet. No mention of the modding situation, No mention of the altered agreement, No mention of the shady cash-grabbing practices - just an apology and the promise to bring back the OG trilogies back to the Rockstar Store (not Steam, just on Rockstar's buggy launcher) For once I know people are gonna buy into this. They should at the very least restore the OGs on steam instead of doing an impression of a person expressing regret.13 points -

So since we don't have any teasers from R*, yet imma do a lil speculation on the next update. Officially we know only that it will have a "legal business" and "familiar faces" attached to it. Unofficially we know that we might get Dr. Dre appearance (and new music), reggaeton station and possibly something tied to nightclubs and/or Tony Prince. In my personal opinion, there is one (irl mind you) thing that does tie everything together. And you won't believe it, but it's... SuperBowl! I don't think it's a coincidence that Dre will perform (with other artists) at the Half Time Show merely a month and a half from the DLC's release. I don't think it's a coincidence that all of those artists that are going to appear on the Half Time Show have albums coming sooner or later in 2022... I really didn't think that the whole "Dre got his phone stolen" from Cayo and then we later got a mechanic that revolves around tracking down the music in the next DLC is a coincidence neither. In my personal view the next DLC will be about creating our own music label. All of the real life cameos (not counting all the DJs) in Cayo Perico are high rank PRODUCERS. I'm going to even further and I think that we will have an "evil and corrupt" rival label. Look at these, they are all from DE: Noticed something that repeats on all of these? The weird atom logo. I think that this will be our main label rival. (It might be the case that it's our artists too, but all of these seem to mock the artists with their name and presentation, but it's R* we're talking about so who knows). I think it's going to work similarly to the Nightclub where we have (to buy probably) 4 producers with some stats (i.e. Dre will be amazing at HipHop, but probably wouldn't create a great country album) and we're going to get big stacks, like all sleazy music labels, with probably an underworld business attached to it with drugs/guns/extortion/cars/heists/etc (cross out the one you want). I think we might get a music festival as well. As I said, Dre will be hosting the Half Time Show and it would be surprised if we would get similar performance from aforementioned artists (really hope for Kendrick with new stuff here ngl). I also think we are going to get about equal amount of music that we got with Cayo, maybe slightly more, since it could be a Music DLC. We know that we're probably going to get reggaeton station, I don't care about it, especially if it won't have anything from Don Omar (I've became a big fan of his recently, help). I don't think Dre will get a new station, but I do feel like we might get a new mixes for our Media Players, unreleased, as of yet, material from Dre or any of the artists that he will perform on the SuperBowl. Imagine if Detox material dropped in GTA first... I also think they're going to update the older stations, just like they did with FlyLo and Worldwide. Strong candidate and most obvious one is WCC, DJ Pooh obviously made a cameo, they have producers that worked with biggest hip-hop and rap stars, o. top of it, one of those producers is Dr. F*ckin Dre. I don't think they're going to miss that one out. Another one that comes to my mind is Non-Stop Pop. I don't think Rockstar mentioned it during the GTAF interview for no reason. Iovine (one of the producers that made a cameo in CP) worked with big pop stars like Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani or rock stars like Stevie Nicks, Dire Straits or U2 (which might point at LSRR update, but I'm personally leaning towards the NSP update personally). I also think that Blue Ark might get an update, mainly to commemorate Lee Scratch Perry. Blue Ark had a big chunk of songs scrapped in the beta, I've heard they have a lot of material of him on the cutting room floor, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it. As always I have my hopes and dreams for a heavy metal station or a synthwave one hosted by Kavinsky (#BringBackNightrideFM), but we probably won't see that at all, ever. Where Tony comes into the play here? Maybe he will be the one that ties everything together, our main contact basically. Maybe all of the producers will come to our nightclub for the first cutscene, who freakin' knows, at this point in time.13 points -

One of the most disappointing posts I've ever seen on this forum. What the f*ck man, I expect way better from you. There's a massive difference between trash talking in an online game and people using your personal information - photos, addresses and the like - to harass you. I'm speaking generally here as your post flat out dismisses cases like this as nothing, but imagine being a woman with a presence online and people doxxing you, finding your address and pictures and then using them to threaten you be it assault, rape or worse. That happens, that's real. That's the type of sh*t so called gamers now engage in over video games, it's despicable and anyone here who wants to try and excuse any of the harassment these people have received is free to raise their hand and I will personally kick them out the door. Hate on the games all you want, call them the worst thing ever, post memes taking the piss out of them, laugh at them, but anyone who takes it beyond that and starts attacking the actual developers is someone who has no place here and anyone trying to handwave this type of behaviour away is on thin f*cking ice.12 points -

(See GrandTheftData and feast your eyes). Definitely sounds like the kind of thing an environment artist would make when researching IRL environment and using it as base for an in-game building. These big corporations basically act like glorified organised crime rackets. They can regularly engage in all sorts of shady practices (many of which would potentially violate consumer protection laws) and screw their own customers without consequence but god forbid they lose some money from pirating or a bunch of modders try to fix their titles out of concern or passion (which in the case of the latter for companies like Take-Turd, means shakedown time). I don't feel sorry for them one bit when their sh*t gets pirated. If anything, I endorse it (even if I wouldn't personally engage in it myself). I'm still baffled that Rockstar outsourced remasters of their legacy titles to these people, a developer that's almost exclusively known for mobile ports. Not a bad one at that mind you (I found the mobile ports of GTA III and VC surprisingly functionable in spite of the awkward controls), but it's obvious that they're completely out of their league when it comes to stuff on consoles, as the 360/PS3 port of San Andreas and the Definitive Edition perfectly demonstrate.12 points
