Well if they actually do sue, at least I will have a cool story to tell to my kids. 20 years from now: Me: Son, what are you playing? Son: New GTA just got released! Me: Which one? Son: GTA V Re-Re-Re-Re-Re-Enhanced and Re-Re-Re-Re-Re-Expanded for PC, PS 10 and Xbox Series XXXYZ Me: Yeah? Well I have a fun story for you, I was actually sued by them. Son: What? Me: Yeah, we actually tried to fix and improve the first release of The Trilogy Definitive Edition for gamers, and then Take-2 came in and sued us all that is actually the reason we live in cardboard box right now.12 points -

Forget the graphics part really based on what we have now in comparison. The original versions worked by "Rockstar Games" are extremely hard to top off. You play the original old PS2 version with that nostalgia orange sky and compare to the DE it brings tears to our eyes to see what this goddamn company has become. Literally speaking, the original XBOX versions of III,VC,SA were at one point one of the best versions to own on consoles on par with PC besides every awsome mod out there that could enhance things in these games. We really haven't had a "true" remaster from R* on these three gta's since 2005......ouch That excludes SA's horrendous HD remaster that WarDrum (now GSG) did years back that makes the DE look even three times as worse than it should've been. It boggles my mind why the f*ck R* cannot properly remaster their sh*t. It's hilarious in a very sarcastic way because they simply don't give a flying f*ck about anything other than making money off of the crap they have now. They easily could have came together and choose one of their affiliated R* companies and took the time to properly put such a phenomenal product that the 3D era deserved in a very special way but holy f*ck is that wishful thinking not even seen in our dreams. It's something almost non-existent these days. III,VC,SA are the reason where R* are at now. Not because of V and its horrendous sh*tty GTAO aspect of it. No damn respect for their first three legendary titles that put them as top doggs in the video game industry. At this point in time R* oughta leave IV and its fantastic episodes the f*ck alone. Insane what money does to such companies, lmao.12 points -

As far as I'm aware, text and textures are messed up because Rockstar used AI to upscale them instead of doing everything by hand, one by one. It's mentioned somewhere in the interview about the Trilogy.12 points -
[GTASA:DE] - Texture Modding Guide
Ryder The G and 10 others reacted to Havi for a topic
Looking to modify Grand Theft Auto San Andreas: The Definitive Edition texture files? This guide will walk you through the entire process Beginners Friendly! Utilities These are all the tools you will need. Unreal Engine 4 UModel (2.02MB) Path Creator (220B) Replacing Textures Grand Theft Auto The Definitive Edition uses Unreal Engine 4.26.2 You can confirm this by going to AppData\Local\UnrealEngine. The game has to have ran once for it to show. UModel 1. Download UModel and open up umodel_64.exe. 2. At Path to game files, click on the ... on the right and navigate to the San Andreas directory. 3. Enable Override game detected and put it on Unreal engine 4 following by Unreal engine 4.26. 4. Optional: You can leave UE3 package compression and Platform on default if you wish and press OK. This is how it should look like once you've completed the steps above: 1. Click on Tools at the bottom middle and select Options. 2. Optional: Change the Export to this folder path to any location you desire. 3. You can tweak and play around and set it to your preference or keep it as is and press OK. This is how it should look like once you've completed the steps above: UModel - Extracting We are going to extract the White Tank Top texture. 1. Navigate to Game/SanAndreas/Textures/player and search for t_vest_vest. 2. Right click on T_vest_vest_BC.uasset and click Export. 3. The exported file can be found at the export folder you set up during the previous steps. 4. Open the extracted T_vest_vest_BC.png and edit the texture as you desire. 5. Once you're done, make sure you save the file the exact same as before, in this case T_vest_vest_BC.png. 6. Now we need a Normal Map for our texture. You can easily create one by going to SmartNormap website. 7. On the website, Load the image and then right click the image or click the Save button at the top-right. Reminder, ensure that the file names are exactly the same from the game data. This is how your textures should end up looking like: Unreal Engine 4.26.2 We now need to open up Unreal Engine. Make sure that you have the Engine version 4.26.2 installed. 1. Click on the Launch Unreal Engine 4.26.2 button. 2. Click on Games and then click the green Next button. 3. Select Blank and click the green Next button. 4. At Project Setting, make sure you set it to No Starter Content. 5. Select a location for your project to be saved and name your project. Name is something like GTADEMods. 6. Click the green Create Project button. This is how it should look like: 1. Drag and Drop your textures into the Content Browser area at the bottom of Unreal Engine. 2. Click on Save All first before you go to the next step otherwise it wouldn't cook these files. 2. Navigate to the top left and click on File > Cook Content for Windows. Note: This process can take a while depending on your system. 3. Once it's completed cooking, head over to your project folder. (Mine was C:\Users\Havi\Desktop\GTADEMods) 4. Navigate to Saved\Cooked\WindowsNoEditor\GTADEMods\Content there you will see your Texture files and a bunch of other files. You only need to grab the ones related to the files you imported earlier. File Structure It is very important that we maintain the game's original file structure. We got our file from Game/SanAndreas/Textures/player but the root folder is incorrect. We need to change this. Wrong Path: Game/SanAndreas/Textures/player Correct Path: Gameface/SanAndreas/Textures/player We need to make a new folder with this exact structure. I have created a batch file which easily does this for you without you having to create each and every folder. You can download the Path Creator that was mentioned at the beginning of this guide. 1. Open the Path Creator.bat file and enter in the following path if you followed this exact guide with the same textures. 2. Press Enter and then press Enter again. Do not click the X button because that won't create the path. 3. A folder is now created following this exact path. Open it all the way up and place your files in there. 4. Go a few folders back and copy the SanAndreas folder and then go to your game's directory (Default: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas - Definitive Edition) 5. Open Gameface > Content and paste your SanAndreas folder in there. The game is able to read unpacked files because we put them in the exact folder how the game reads them. Your official Content folder should end up looking like this: And there you go! There is your custom texture. This seems like a lot at first but it's a very simple and easy concept. Just do it a few times and it'll be easy cake.11 points -

Oh really? then why is Rockstar forcing people to pay 60$ for the Trilogy as one game instead of giving the option to buy these three games separately? Second it's not a new game. Third what exactly did they do to charge 60$ for the Trilogy? all they basically did is replace vegetation, textures (some textures are upscaled fine, some are upscaled like dogsh*t and a few are replaced), shadows (they're not even that good), dogsh*t characters, lighting and something here and another there, not to mention the old bugs are there while adding ton of new bugs and everything else got ported just the same without a single change from the originals, basically it's a unfinished bugged half assed remaster done by a cheap amateur studio and this according to you deserves 60$? yeah right. BTW think if you want to praise Rockstar for the 60$ rip off you're in the wrong thread.11 points -

Too bad at the same time they messed up completely and choose wrong ped to be Umberto's father. Alberto is clearly the gray haired guy in Hawaiian shirt on the left (in original none of them is moving his lips, so there is no problem). GSG however choose some random ped to say the voice line. And such details are the reason why the remaster is getting all the flack, because GSG proved many times already they either don't know or don't care about lore and love for the original versions.11 points -

Hello everyone! I'm back with a NEW old release! Couldn't think of any better time to release a new mod than now On a more serious note, I've had these models in my archives for about 8 years now. These models we're originally intended for my now defunked GTA: LCS mod. They we're designed and modeled by MMProductions (Matheus M.) in Google Sketchup (You can still find them in the Google Warehouse!). My responsibilities for these was to convert them from Sketchup format and port them to Vice City. They're completely fan-made! Their style has been crafted to fit into the original atmosphere of Liberty City Stories and reflect qualities similar to other vehicles within the game. They're made to look like they would've been in the game Originally I wanted to release these models packaged with the first release of the mod, but life happens and you lose track of 8 years. It felt like a real shame that all the work that went into these we're going to be lost to time, but not anymore. I introduce to you, 12 new vehicles for your driving pleasure! Blista Compact (Made by Almost610) Bullion Cyclone GT Evidence Rancher Supra (Jester) Tommy Clover Impreza (Suburu/Sultan) Skoiloin (Skyline/Elegy) Civilian Premier Lancer MF1 Provided in the download link is the: DFF, TXD, Col, and Data. DOWNLOAD: LCS Beta Vehicles Handling has been converted to fit within Vice City's handling. Car Colors are available in Vice City or Liberty City Stories format, depending on your carcols.dat Default.ide is most likely not useful for most people but provided regardless. The lines we're created to fit around the now dead GTA: Stories mod. Apologies ahead of time for any possible bugs you may encounter. These models date back roughly 8 years and conversion methods for Sketchup files we're quite crude back then. I have updated most of the models and fixed issues, but no guarantees! I want to give thanks for all of those who support me in my early years of modding and for the fond memories of the GTA: Stories mod. Hope all is well and you enjoy these relics! The way how icons get downscaled to 1080p resolution is still weird, it looks like the icons are in worse quality but the PNG itself is HD. Maybe i'll add a light black outline to the less recognizable symbols. Would be nice to find out how to change the actual selection wheel so we can replace the circle with something better. There was a time when Rockstar cared about the quality of the product that they put their name on. Those days are long gone now as far as I'm concerned. The fact that they would even consider giving GSG another shot after how badly they f*cked up SA before just proves they don't care at all. I'm officially done with Rockstar now, they will never get another penny off me as long as I live. Even if their next release is the greatest game to ever exist I will look to get it through alternative means. In the words of George W Bush "Fool me once, shame - shame on you. Good Lord GSG is messy, they included font files everywhere, I didn't think I'd ever get a custom font in game so the real fonts are located in "Gameface>content>common>fonts" they are ufont files which are actually just ttf that have been cooked in unreal engine. happy modding!9 points -

Yeah, and gamers would beat him up if they see him at Wall Street, even in shabby clothing. "Mods threatening the economy" thing is bullsh*t, Zelnick shouldn't talk. He's made billions through GTAO and still trying to nuke modding altogether. Those "de-demasters" in the name of Definitive Edition should never exist. OGs still win, and they win more hearts with mods. Take-Two has gone too far with DMCA'ing a save file. I mean, sharing save files has been a common practice. Why take them down if they're already around the Internet for a long time? This just proves that Zelnick is a spoiled, entitled, and egotistic manbaby who sh*ts himself over a mod and a f*cking save file.9 points -
What is this forum for?
Naean and 8 others reacted to Spider-Vice for a topic
In this new forum, we are encouraging users to report their bugs in dedicated topics, outside the general bug reporting topics, so it's easier for both players and potentially Rockstar/GSG to follow. You can still use the general topics for each game, but we highly encourage you to make separate ones. The forum has manual approval for topics, to prevent abuse or duplication. For a good bug report topic, please try and follow some of these guidelines: Include images or a video of your bug, especially if it's a visual bug; If applicable, include exact steps to reproduce; Refer to your platform in your post or even topic title. If you're on PC, please refer to your PC specs, operating system, and if you're using any launch arguments (such as -dx12 or -vulkan); Utilise the tags/prefixes if the bug is game specific; As much as certain bugs can be annoying, please avoid commentary about the developer's practices or opinionated commentary in bug topics and leave it for the complaints or general discussion topics in the main sections. Thanks for your cooperation!9 points -

This game really did not need to be released. If it won't match the standards of a 2008 game, why even bother? Just port the games to current gen and fix the perceived flaws with the controls for console and that's all that needed to be done. inb4 oh this a remaster If they knew that they were selling an outdated product then why sell it in the first place? These games are still from the early 2000s. It'll take a little bit more than just flashy graphics to put them on par with new products. This just reeks of cash grab.
