The sad irony is though, you know what solves some of the things you pointed out? A version of these games built native without said restrictions. re3 and reVC were literally supposed to be the rebirth of the modding community for those games whilst STILL supporting the past. Giving the games the ability to load new features without breaking what's there, with the limit being how well you can code it into the game. Things like screen space reflections, AO, normal mapping, etc, hell even Ray Tracing down the line, would have been possible to allow people to breath new life into these games. Look at this stuff, this is just the very EARLY attempts at updating some key parts of the basic render: The second video deviates more into unfinished code, thus the framerate problems and such, but this is unfinished and even then code wise you could toggle what you want, just want the water and shadows? Fine, that's possible, etc. And again, this is all very early work, just barley a few months with working on re from a modding perspective. re3/reVC was meant to be the boost that DOOM got back in the 90's when that went open source. Instead it got stamped out, threatened and its death cheered on by people here.

Should I also be glad they still sell broken games today and in the near future, and at full price too? After all, they could have just ignored them, so keep consuming and get excited for the next product (GTA 6), right? I swear some of you would eat poop as long as it's Rockstar branded, and it shows

2004 PC vs Nintendo Switch vs 2021 PC: 2004 PC version has the worst draw distance but has a higher resolution than the Nintendo Switch version while the Nintendo Switch version has a better draw distance with some textures getting an enhancement but the overall resolution is lower than the 2004 PC version. 2021 PC version is the best in terms of both resolution (4k as opposed to 1080p for the 2004 PC version) and draw distance. The LODs are also visible while they aren't in the Nintendo Switch version. The Nintendo Switch version is a clever mix of both editions and will look fine on a small screen where the lower resolution won't be as jarring. It's realistic to assume that the portable vs docked resolutions would be a bit different and that the portable experience will most likely feature dynamic resolution.

Three days to release 60 euro product in 2021 that: We dont see any gameplay footage, every photo has one or multiple glitch or bugs, no true to original style, probably lack of ragdoll and realtime damage made by studio that ruined perfectly GTA:SA for PS3 and Xbox360(There are already two hour documentary how it is and another hour is in making). With overkill PC specs and sour in mouth because they ban mods for OG games that are now obtainable only via piracy. Yeah in three days we see true "masterpiece" .

Ah this has finally hit the news, my dad knew him and found out on Facebook yesterday morning, he's going to the funeral.

There's simply no coming to terms with the fact that not only did they try to kill the best of the modding community, greatly succeeding at it, but they had actually killed off their greatest work after which they pissed on the grave of the golden age of Grand Theft Auto with this apparition coming in to take the place of the originals - any version. They didn't even have the balls to do it themselves, hence they engaged their paid thugs to do it. Real classy. Truth to be told, if they can manage to pull off something like this, then this community have such low standards that they can sh*t on it from such a height, where selling a turd would be welcomed with mouth wide open, tongue out. But hey, even a turd has to be nicely glazed in sugar to be sold or should I say, swallowed well and it's damn obvious they are running out of sweeteners. Soon, they will only have "gRaPhIcS" to sell and with the creative minds behind narrative & story-telling long gone, once that last sugary part finally evaporates, the turd is going to start stinking pretty badly. Just like the life of the real star; once they couldn't keep up with producing amazing gameplay, they started burning this nonsense of the 'movie alike', mission based, linear appearance to compensate, silently killing what was the idea in the first place - the open world gameplay as the main ingredient. Now it's time to trade that story-telling with burning down "AAA production" and "top notch visuals" as a fuel. They won't be going far with that. Can't wait to see them finally fall.

Are they just using ai upscaling to make the textures? If that's the case you can see the ai f*cking up here. Takes the original folds on the clothes so they don't look like a flat texture and makes them whatever the f*ck is the new texture, that also would explain the lack of a zipper, the ai doesn't have artistic vision. Here's a better view of the shoulder fold.

Maybe not for Rockstar because people will always be defending them, but definitely for Grove Street Games. People are already very cautious of them after their last GTA remaster, this release will pretty much make or break their reputation. Really wouldn't want to be them right now.

I don't understand the logic between splitting the complainers and the consumers into two separate circlejerks, and then having different standards for both when they intrude on each others threads. Mentioning a point of contention in the main thread will get you warned or b7 for there being "better places" to complain, but defending the remaster here doesn't seem to matter at all, despite the fact that the thread title clearly reads "Complaints & Criticisms". Splitting them is the main concern. You're allowing people to indulge in their own confirmation bias, and you're at least somewhat responsible for just how fractured and oppositional both groups are right now, except now you've got moderators who visibly favor one camp over the over, which negatively impacts the collective consciousness on this forum. Saying anything implying that the forum or it's members/moderators have some sort of tight monetary connection with the company themselves will get me b7, so I would rather state that this whole charade is counterproductive and hope that someone will address my point. I'm aware that it's probably just to make mods lives easier but the attitudes it fosters is not beneficial to the forum in any way, and will only provoke more people as time goes on.

When it comes to Rockstar Games, it wouldn't matter if you are in New Zealand or any other region. The game would still unlock for everyone around the world at the same time. Right? Same scenario happened with RDR2.

3 days away. No gameplay trailer. No online trailer. No word if online exist. No word on soundtracks. No word on if there's a cover system or not. No steam release. No word on hot coffee. 3 different titles instead of one main .exe that opens the titles. We know it looks good. Rockstar, you've done it again! I'm predicting, massive hit.

It's more than one, but if you prefer to live in ignorance then I can't help you there. Yeah, blame Take-Two and Rockstar for that one.

And yet there's plenty of devs out there who DO such things. The modding community has always been open to working WITH Rockstar too, that's the thing, it'd be great if these games got OFFICIAL patches which contained the fixes done by modders so that way it's included for everyone, but Rockstar and Take-Two are stubborn in that department. You could've just downloaded reVC instead, which includes all those fixes and more. One simple EXE and that's it, a new build of the game for modern Windows with a load of fixes, corrections, controller support, proper aspect ratio support, etc.

Criticism is not allowed in main thread don't you know GSG lurks the forums and staff wants to be in their good side.

re3 did release...twice. Both 3 and VC were complete and the latest builds from just before the lawsuit hit (literally just a couple of days before) are rock solid ways to play both games. Secondly, there was nothing "free" about re3 and they weren't redistributing the game. it was not a recreation of the game assets, just the source code, and you had to own original licensed copies of 3/VC in order to use it, it's basically useless without.
