  2. I've been taking some comparison screenshots throughout the day and sharing them in the topics in the individual game forums. I'm not sure which of the recent comparisons have been posted here but to share some of the most recent: GTA III Screenshot 1 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: Screenshot 2 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: Screenshot 3 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: GTA Vice City Screenshot 1 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: Screenshot 2 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: Screenshot 3 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: Screenshot 4 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: GTA San Andreas Screenshot 1 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: Screenshot 2 Released Screenshot: PC Version Screenshot: Screenshot 3 Released Screenshot: PC Version Comparison: Wanted to make them because I really think these kind of comparison shots show the amount of work that has gone into these games. There are a lot of small details that have been touched up and I personally think the team behind them have been doing a pretty great job. Thanks to @SquoniX, @Spider-Vice and others for sharing these around!

  5. Don't give me that excuse, it's a bad model that's been smoothed out way too much. Notice how in the original you can tell it's a jacket and NOT a hoody as there's a zipper line there? Notice how the pockets are more detailed on the original where they're just a smooth line on the "DE" version? Notice how there's ruffles and creases in the original model where as the "DE" version it's just a smooth slab of nothing? This brings me on to another point btw: The license sticker in the window! One, why is it a bad upscale of the original PC one? This detail was even remade on the Xbox versions back in 2003... WHY are they upscaling lower quality textures for things that are already available in better quality? AND two, why does it have a normal map? It's meant to be a sticker on a window, why is it out here looking like a fully ridged licence plate? There's just soo many underlining quality choices here that throw the whole damn thing off and distract from the good.

  8. Either some of you learn how to discuss things in a civil way without calling others "blind" or "fanboys" (like this morning) and not fighting between opinions or it's all being moved to B&M. We're all a bit sick and tired of the same exact people doing the same things over and over again. Keep the overly emotional "criticism" elsewhere and the minimally constructive discussion here, if you have any at all. Same as before.

  9. This screenshot confirms what ive feared. The all new "increased draw distance" is not that good of a feature if you'll be able to see the top of Mt. Chiliad from Gaton... Fog was not only due to limitation, but to cover it up how small the State actually is...

  15. If you have to keep threatening people to not be negative, maybe, just maybe, the product isn't as hyped up as you want it to be. And once again, GTA3 looks decent, Vice City has another new meme, Caveman Lance and Rubber Face Ken.

  17. The fact that the models and textures look so ugly everytime is just a confirmation of the fact that the graphics look good thanks to whatever default settings they used on Unreal Engine 4 and not to an outstanding work by GSG. I see close to zero effort on textures, close to zero effort to make cars look right, close to zero effort to make clothing look right... The Admiral in the Ocean View screenshot looks like a monster truck with collapsed rear suspension, the textures aren't even aligned; Tommy's clothing are made out of whatever but fabric; CJ's jeans are hideous, all the effort went into looking for the best AI upscaling website; Big Smoke's jeans, they pretty much slapped a jeans looking texture and watched a tutorial on how to add stitches. Didn't bother with making the parts that are stitched together.. actually stitched together like a real life clothing; "Hey this fabric texture looks good on jeans, let's slap it to the rest of the clothing we have"; Whatever happened with with Tommy's hands, literally LEGO characters; The thing that stuggers me is that they bothered with some details like the buttons on the shirts which they got dedicated poligons but then they don't do anything to CJ's belt? I'm not a professional developer or a long time 3D modeler/material artist but damn... I work on this type of things in my free time and I try to put all the effort on everything. I know 3D modeling isn't as easy as pushing a button but the level of effort expected for a game branded Rockstar Games is high. There are some things that are objectively ugly in my opinion.

  20. Yeah really, I mean look at the upgrade they gave big smoke. Don't you think the player model deserves this kind of treatment? Doesn't take a genius to notice the pretty stark inconsistencies in design so far. This isn't really nitpicking at this point anymore, it's a red flag.

  21. You simply can't unironically post this picture and say it's a good way to show "improved lighting". There is no way this is real. He looks like a Bollywood actor that used way too much makeup. The lighting on Tommy is completely wrong.

  31. The character models on VC are becoming WAY more of a distraction now, we're meant to be seeing things IMPROVE, not DEGRADE. Considering character models are something you're going to be looking at nearly 100% of the time it's fair to say they've ruined Vice City. Even San Andreas which looks like it's had less work done comes out looking better as it's at least closer and more faithful to the original model and not some fat Tommy smoothed out mess.

  36. Perhaps if you don't want people to yell back at you, stop being an ass to every single positive comment you see about the game eh? Should be that easy. Every single one you've quoted and cried about. You don't enjoy it, good, you can talk about it but don't go quoting every single positive comment on purpose constantly, as if you're trying to convert people into some kind of cult. It's basically every single one of your posts here, don't be surprised that people argue back when you question them. We'll let you hate the game if you also let people enjoy it without constantly questioning them about it just because you don't. Also not sure why you keep being snarky, sarcastic and talking about "cope" and stages of grief, I'm sure you can be a bit more civil than that because that's borderline trolling just because you want to "show em!" it's a bad game for you. I'd simmer down.

  37. >zoomed in >tracksuit is literally center frame >CJs jeans are literally one of the first pieces of clothing the player sees and its clearly just a sh*t upscale >tommy literally looks like he fell asleep in a tanning bed and is ridiculously far removed from the original model You're right about the "every pixel" part but this is far from zoomed in. The stuff most people are criticizing is right there in front of your face and can be easily seen with the naked eye in any comparison. Keep in mind that this is literally their only job. Take what's there, and improve on it, and they have already failed in some pretty big aspects and the game isn't even out yet! Seeing stuff like this doesn't really ease people's insecurities about the quality of the stuff they haven't shown yet. Which is more sad, the community pointing out details or the developers not taking those details into account?

  38. Look at those at 100% size, 4K versions from the Xbox page. The textures look pretty nice in these, Smoke's jeans look blurry in the thumbnail but there's actually quite a bit of texture to it. CJ's jeans do look kinda weird.
