@alloc8or found out new structs that were added with the recent update relating to the standalone version and one of them is "rage::fwuiMessageBase", which is from RDR2's RAGE version, so that seems to go along what @Spider-Vice & @uNi stated, that the enhanced edition is likely to utilize RDR2's RAGE version. However, it could just be that the UI would utilize RDR2's base code, while the rest remains the same. The rest of the new structs are listed here: The interesting one is "CHasCharacterToTransferDecisionPage" that seems to confirm character transfers will be available once the enhanced edition eventually releases.9 points -

I don't think it really fits with the direction GTA:O has been going in the last few years, but a street racing update would be really, really nice and I feel like people would enjoy it. We already have plenty of good cars, but some more 90s/00s JDM wouldn't go amiss (S2000, a proper AE86 Trueno, RX7, MR2, S15 any of em)- but the brunt of it could be just more fleshed out street racing stuff. Like the 'Tuners and Outlaws' fan made trailer a few years ago by Wiseguy. And you could throw some of the ridiculous stuff from the newer Fast and Furious movies to please people who want crazier action stuff like we've been getting lately - like a heist or mission where you steal an entire bank vault, Fast Five style or whatever.6 points -

FFS! Why can't Cripps do something once in a long while? I get back to camp with a supply wagon to be greeted by 3 deer and a few coyotes lounging around inside my camp while the old dog hating drunk is sitting on a stool sharpening his knife, then he tells me "too bad you couldn't get all of it". Along with Maggie saying she's paying me too much and Marcel so generously offering me a drink of MY moonshine, I think it's high time these lazy SOBs were replaced.6 points -

Hillary Clinton conceded the election the very next day. It's incredibly disingenuous to imply there's even a modicum of similarity between the two candidates. It's also objective reality, confirmed by multiple intelligence agencies around the world, that Russia had absolutely interfered in that election. Whether or not it affected the final results of the election is debatable, but pretending it didn't happen is high fantasy. Multiple indictments throughout Trump's administration took place because of that investigation. Whereas every single investigation into widespread voter fraud for this election hasn't uncovered a f*cking thing. It's been a meme perpetuated by our president that has now resulted in a riot on our country's capital and multiple causalities. I know it's difficult not to soy it up here watching your side get blown the f*ck out but anyone with an IQ above room temperature can see through this sh*t my dude. Super cool ad-ridden link you got there though. I really appreciate that it cites a white supremacist like Jack Posobiec and pro-rape Mike Cernovich as reliable sources. It sounds like we can definitely trust them in their evaluation of whether or not protests to stop black kids from getting murdered is comparable to cultists storming the capital over a f*cking election fraud meme.6 points -

Why make something 2 years in advance for online? And why would Rockstar mention 2021 in the email and not 2020, the year that Cayo Perico released? (If the email is not fake) Before you people tell me it's for gta v ps5 let me remind you that the announcement trailer was made from old footage, meaning that it was probably a last moment decision. The reason I have incendiary rounds in the Combat MG Mk II is the Doomsday Heist, particularly the Act 3 Finale. The enemies there have so much health that if you hit them in a way that isn't a headshot, you have to fire into them lying on the ground for several seconds before they die. But you can't really do that when there are multiple enemies... in that case things might get a little more hectic, and you might end up missing more headshots as a result. Using incendiary ammo helps in this regard as a burning enemy will continue to lose health and be pinned down without the ability to get up or shoot at you. Fire is particularly useful in the hacking stage of the Act 3 Finale, because every killed NPC will respawn in a couple seconds, so it's better to leave them burning for a while. I wouldn't recommend using Armor Piercing or Hollow Point ammo in PvE. The only reason I have an assault rifle with AP ammo is for short/mid-range PvP against someone wearing a helmet, which happens very rarely, or if I engage the Headhunter guards on foot. These actually have armor and die much quicker from AP rounds. They also don't die from a headshot, which is usually all you need even against NPC with lots of health. So the focus in PvE I think should always be on hitting headshots, and the small magazine size of special ammo hinders that in my opinion. (I'd rather miss a few shots in order to get a headshot on an NPC with lots of health, instead of hitting him elsewhere and having to shoot him many more times as a result.) For Juggernauts the best way to engage them IMO is if you use a minigun yourself and aim at their head, preferably also using the corner glitch. (With cover to your left side, there is a small angle where you can fire at someone and they can't return fire.) But you can also use the fact that a minigun is fired from waist-height against NPCs by positioning yourself in a way so that an object is between you and the juggernaut, high enough for you to fire over but not the enemy.5 points -

That's sort of similar to how they were doing content updates in 2015 and 2016. A couple larger updates (Heists, Lowriders and CEO update) alongside a couple smaller updates (Ill-Gotten Gains 1&2, Halloween & Festive Surprise updates). They may go for a similar trend once Online Standalone is released, seeing as how they'll have more horsepower to work with across the board but it's hard to say for sure. PS4 and X1 will eventually stop receiving updates just like PS3 and X360 so they can work on bigger and bigger updates, so if we look to the past for examples they could either ramp up the update frequency or just keep it to two large updates per year. Who knows, maybe Project Americas will become a reality within Online. My belief is the Cayo Perico update is R* testing the technical capability of adding additional free-roam islands. With this heist they're starting off simple - we're restricted to mission-only activities (scope-out and the heist itself), the island is very stripped-down in terms of an open-world environment, but it's still a success. It's another island in Online. With the additional horsepower of the new systems and both current and upcoming PC hardware, they may find a way to include say for example Liberty City as another completely open free-roam area with it's own unique contacts, missions, businesses, etc. I'm hesitant to say they'd be able to add additional islands to the same session, i.e. being able to seamlessly fly from SA to LC in the same session, but I could see them doing something like you go to the airport in SA, choose to fly to LC, and it puts you into a new 30-player session in LC. However this is all just wishful speculation, so who really knows.5 points -

Probably like 2006 or 2007, considering the driving stuff still has the same the bugs as GTA IV, such as curb boosting. Although considering how they tried to duct tape those things with the advanced handling flags, it tells me that nobody there knows how the code actually works anymore. Some guy wrote a new driving system, and then 14 years later an intern comes in and tries to make sense of their spaghetti code to fix things. Kinda amazing that the game even functions5 points -

Some friends and I were in freemode on PS4 yesterday when we started getting attacked by 3 players that were using the current off the radar glitch. Their icon would show them at the casino but they were attacking us instead. Players like this need to be permanently removed from the game and have their controllers shoved up their keister. And for the youtubers that show them how to do the glitch, you can take a long walk off a short pier and keep your mouth open when you fall into the water.4 points -

The .50 Pistol and Assault SMG do the same damage at maximum range as they do at minimum range - this makes these more effective than some larger and heavier weapons past a certain range. Some other guns do the same, but they're usually non-magazine-fed six shooters (where Damage Per Second is better with something else) and although the original Heavy Revolver doesn't have damage fall-off, the Mk.2 does, and many people go for that because of the special ammo... With the Heavy Revolver Mk.2, incendiary rounds are guaranteed to set both NPCs and players on fire every shot but with FMJ rounds, you can destroy helicopters in a single shot if there's an exposed tail rotor or 3 shots to blow them up - usually. The Perico Pistol is just a faster firing Marksman Pistol, essentially, and that's generally outclassed by one of the six-shooters. I don't do "one shotting" with a pistol, more a LRR (long range rifle). FMJ rounds do double the amount of damage against vehicles as normal bullets do, so they're quite good on the weapons that already have a high damage / DPS output. A Combat MG Mk.2 will shred a lot of stuff with FMJ rounds, but the limited ammo capacity on a fully automatic weapon like that makes it less ideal. Suppressed rifle or not - personal preference really. Suppression doesn't affect range or damage so it's usually more ideal than less. Some guns sound great suppressed, others are better without any condom on the muzzle. Combat MG Mk.2 has much higher DPS than any other weapon with lock-on, so it's usually the go-to for most people including myself. Recoil can be an issue but I think people need to realise that (realistically) you can't fire a gun fully automatically with much accuracy, past about 30m or so, and so bursts are ideal and conserve ammo.4 points -

Without BST, no pistol can one-shot a max-health player (I mean health based on level and actual health), but the Navy Revolver and Heavy Revolver Mk I can do it in 2 hits at their max range (both have no damage drop-off), as well as the Heavy Revolver Mk II with hollow point rounds (which does have damage drop-off but the special ammo more than compensates for that). The Perico Pistol deals high damage, but still not enough to one-shot a max health player AND it has damage drop-off; so what's only really special about it is that its bullets can penetrate bodies. Every pistol can kill NPCs with a headshot of course. The Heavy Revolver Mk II with FMJ rounds can destroy the tail rotor on a Buzzard or police helicopter in one hit at its max range. Normal rounds can one-shot these as well but not up until max range due to damage drop-off. The FMJ rounds can also make Hydras and Lazer smoke fairly quick; if they come close to you, you're in an explosive-resistant vehicle and use cover to your advantage, this can be a viable tactic to take them down, or at least damage them every time they make a strafe. As mentioned above the Assault SMG has a very good combination of accuracy, (low) recoil, and fire rate. A suppressor doesn't affect stats but for a Mk II weapon you have to choose between it and a muzzle brake. The Assault SMG also has no damage drop-off so at max range its damage actually becomes higher than most assault rifles; at close range its lower of course. The Combat MG Mk II beats all assault rifles in pure damage output, but the weapon shakes quite a bit more when fired in 3rd person or 1st person scoped, and becomes more inaccurate when auto-firing in general. The Special Carbine Mk II is a good weapon, but if you play on PC with mouse I'd suggest you give the Assault SMG a try for PvE. As mentioned above I use the Combat MG Mk II with incendiary rounds because it still has an 80-round magazine with special ammo, but I only use it in the Doomsday Heist and (rarely) PvP. I've heard that autoaim players prefer the Combat MG Mk II with 200-round magazine for PvE. With max range above I mean 120 meters, which is the standard for all weapons except sniper rifles (which have longer range), and shotguns (which have shorter range).4 points -
