Do you think there will ever be a GTA with a better story than GTA IV?
Bigglo145 and 5 others reacted to Algonquin Assassin for a topic
For me what makes GTA IV’s story so great isn’t so much the tone, but the way it captures “The American Dream”. Niko was the first foreigner in the series and being able to experience this new place through his perspective and experience his post war trauma and seeing him adapt to American society, survive with Roman etc is so special and unique it’s something akin to lighting being captured in a bottle. It happened at the right place during the right time. As much as I love RDR2’s story even that falls just short of the throne GTA IV’s story comfortably sits on. Anyway GTA VI’s story would have to be some serious cinematic work to knock off GTA IV. If it can be just as great (which would be no easy feat) I’ll accept that.6 points -

Changed mine to resemble a '70 Beetle I saw at a car lot back in '02 for $1500. I would've bought it if I wasn't broke at the time. Of course, I'm still broke, but the same car would probably cost five or six times as much now. The Weevil is more based on a pre-'54 with various 60's and post '67 details... and even some from a Subaru 360 (the front turn signals and the fuel filler door being in the center of the back above the decklid) but I liked the overall look of that car a lot.6 points -

I remember a interview that a spanish streamer made to Alfredo Huereca (Martin Madrazo´s actor) and it was quite interesting, as a mexican his native language is spanish and it was so good to me to hear a GTA actor talking in spanish. He talked about some interesting things and when the streamer asked him about the casino audio files from Lester and Madrazo found a few years ago so before the actual casino was released after some winking he said like "I guess you understand my silence" and he laughed (of course he could not say anything explicit because of the NDA, but that was quite a clue about something we could have seen but was cut or discarded, as the story mode dlc), also he asked him about the Sharmoota Job but he said he didn´t knew anything (maybe was true or maybe again NDA strikes again). But he is a cool dude!!! He was so nice!!! He made a very good interview and of course he was not telling anything that could get him in trouble of course, but he said a lot of things and that part of the casino audio files saying nothing in a "literal" way but saying like well I guess you understand my silence was quite interesting. The interview (all in spanish, maybe YT can translate it in other languages, I don´t know): The casino audio files he asked to him and Alfredo said that about to "understand his silence" after winking:5 points -

While I've been enjoying the Cayo Perico Heist, I agree with the people that argue against Rockstar's description of the update, calling it the "biggest ever update for the game". If we compare it to the Doomsday Heist, which I think is tied-in with Heists as the actual biggest update for the game, Cayo Perico had a lot less content, and it's much more similar to something like the Diamond Casino Heist update instead. The new vehicles are not numerous and, of those, how many are actually new? Because they all seem like reskins or alternatives to existing vehicles (Annihilator Stealth is a worse Akula, Toreador is a better Stromberg, the Moon Pool vehicles are variant of existing ones, the Alkonost is similar to the Volatol etc., funnily enough most of these old vehicles I'm mentioning are from Doomsday) Content-wise too, The Music Locker is a cool idea but we already had plenty of DJ stuff with After Hours, while the heist's Prep missions aren't in any way comparable to the original Heists or Doomsday's but are instead less thought-out Freemode missions like any other. Yes, we get to go into more interiors but that's probably less of a choice and more of a necessity seeing how cluttered Los Santos and Blaine County must already be, as far as mission spawns go. There's not really a structure to the missions, and personally they're not very engaging either. I think I got my point across, so now the question is: do you think we're ever gonna see an actual new biggest update comparable to Heists or Doomsday? Or is it too late for that?5 points -

Can't vote against Buzzard too, even with Sub Sparrow around, it is by far the best backup option when sh*t goes south. Akula is the CEO/VIP missions savior. Hydra is only good for casino prep missions, in special ... the Druggan supply one's. Snacc is the overlord savior for Prep-Heist missions or even on Diamond Casino or Cayo Perico Heist if i make some mistakes on the end.5 points -

I like GTA 4 and GTA 5
B Dawg and 3 others reacted to Tycek for a topic
I can wholeheartedly agree with that. I like GTA IV along its DLCs, because they make the whole package. And even if I prefer GTA IV and TLaD over TBOGT, which went too far in my opinion, I play it as well every time. Simply because it's still GTA IV, with Liberty City, it's radio stations, physics etc. When I was playing GTA V I wasn't big fan of the driving, shooting or physics system being changed in comparison to GTA IV, but I could live with them. What truly threw me off was the character creation or rather lack of it, not very gripping story and lack of any sense of progression. If we got a DLC that would add a really good story to GTA V, even if it was about the length of TLaD (let's say around 20 missions) it could bring me back. I think I could even have fun with the original protagonists, maybe even Trevor if the add-on would show him from different perspective and give me something interesting to do. Without any DLCs however, with not very great mechanics and weak story I have no reason to go back to the game.4 points -
What's so wrong with GTA V's story/How would you fix it?
MrPikmin16 and 3 others reacted to billiejoearmstrong8 for a topic
One thing that might've helped for an ambitious three protagonist game would've been doubling the number of missions. Simply no way to tell three protagonists' stories sufficiently with "69" (more like 50 if you discount the heist set up "missions" such as buying boiler suits or stealing a trash truck and the assassinations) missions.4 points -

Strange because that interview is from 2018 and he said (obviously joking) when he asked him about if he liked the fate of Martin Madrazo he said "No!! Why do you want to kill him??? He has to be in GTA VI if that happens!!! Do you know who I am??" and he laughed. He was joking but that seems like him he would work again for R* if they asked him, I wonder why he didn´t recorded the Martin Madrazo voices when Miguel Madrazo calls him at the end of the heist...4 points -

Next DLC Speculation Topic Mk X
MekhiSkyline and 3 others reacted to SummerFreeze for a topic
Isn't there this idea that Doomsday Heist is two DLCs merged into one? If so no... I don't think we will see this again. When the current DLC was announced as the biggest I expected it would be the cancelled Cops-n-Crooks update were merged with a new heist. I think we got several of the vehicles planned for CnC in the summer update though. Like maybe the Club and cut Surfer could have been made into police vehicles, and the Peyote/Manana Custom were gang vehicles. The Beater Dukes seems like it was intended for a car chase, i.e. either you get this beat-up car by default, or you can upgrade it by spending money. But when Rockstar started hyping the new music for this DLC I figured "biggest" would merely refer to the size in terms of files. And it did.4 points -

Hey guys, sorry I haven´t posted any new mods lately. I got quite carried away with the Kanjo, turns out it is actually way more complicated than I initially thought... So I lost a lot of time with that and it doesn´t look like I will be able to finish it any time soon... Instead I have now started something else. I know it is not the most exciting vehicle, but at least it is something I can finish. The GTA5 Baggage Handler with all its trailers (from map objects in GTA5)4 points -

I think that GTA:O is made in a way to absolutely drain your wallet in game and irl because of the excess of content it has. Once you start playing you realize just how much stuff there is to purchase immediately. There is also the psychological part too. GTA:O replicates a world where materialism is the answer to everything so I think a lot of players are left wishing to at least have everything they think is cool and fun. This is partly because gta online is hyper-realstic and has some elements that are similar to real life such as vehicles and properties. The reason people play games like GTA, which replicates real life and has some contemporary themes is because it gives you the ability to do things you can't or won't necessarily have or do irl. GTA:O has that but it's next level...and there is a hefty price for it.4 points -

Snapshot 4.1.2 is now available! This update comes with some pretty significant changes to the UG-MP launcher to ensure people can still play UG-MP with or without the website being available. Changelog Downscaled the license plate textures in UG-MP – this was previously done only on singleplayer, but this change wasn’t made in the multiplayer files. This oversight was thus corrected. The UG-MP launcher no longer requires you to have an account on the GTA: Underground website. The UG-MP launcher now has a caching layer – if the cache is still up-to-date, the launcher will use the cache instead. This will result in better performance. Implemented a timeout for requests in the UG-MP launcher Fixed a crash in the UG-MP launcher should it fail to establish a connection with the GTA: UG website Removed the login requirement in the UG-MP launcher - you no longer need an account on the GTA: Underground website in order to play Downloads GOOGLE DRIVE: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MQg4QSFz4Bz7aK5gCqDp6fmlA5q40oPN/view?usp=sharing MODDB: https://www.moddb.com/mods/gta-underground/downloads/gta-underground-snapshot-412-requires-snapshot-44 points -
