I feel like Rockstar announced the update way too early this time. The news of the dead guy on the beach barely sunk in and we instantly get the cryptic video. The next day we immediately get the trailer and then now what? Two weeks of nothing? Why didn't they just put in more prop-hints and spread the announcement out. As much as I look forward to this update, now that everything is out in the open I have lost my anticipation.

I agree with some points you made, but regarding this last bit, I think GTAO would still be affected business-wise. A new triple-A game, which is also the most anticipated game, like CP77 would definitely affect Rockstar's shot at acquiring new players, which is a key part in generating the force that drives the sales and revenue for this game. The festive season is more of a "try your chances in acquiring new players" season for these business executives, which is likely why all the big stuff are reserved for December. RDO is already flopping and if CP77 affects GTAO in any way, it may knock some sense into Take-Two to favor listening to the community, instead of relying too much on acquiring new players.

Imagine saying 5 years ago that a video detailing new content for a R* game would get ratioed. R*’s reputation as respectable and above the sh*t influence of other devs tanked so fast after the constant bungling of RDO.

How? What exactly do you expect from them just 2 years after they released a masterpiece of a game? Also, They are the same company, with just longer gaps between titles. RDR2 is amazing and if making something like that takes time, then so be it, I can wait.

You don't need the scripts to get to the 3D models of drip-feed cars. That was just an assumption, pure speculation. I think Rockstar is done with the in-game teases, now it's just a matter of whether they reveal more info in the newswire.

I think they do care, because it's marketing obviously, but they can't do anything about it. I don't think we would have gotten this early announcement had CP77 released in November, and the announcement would have been pushed to early December as usual.

Sadly they deserve every single dislike... This is the first batch of content after Dan left ( i know he took a sabbatical much earlier, but officially speaking it is ) Weak Naturalist update, Weak Summer special update, Almost toxic - bad for your health bounty Hunters excuse of an "update", Gta V on the third generation of consoles, decisions not favourable to the player base but to the microtransaction machine hell even the Jason Schrier article stated something like Gta Vi coming in parts or something and a "moderately sized release"... And dont get me started on the Corona situation. Other companies released their stuff while dealing with the same problems. Things don't look very good right now for Rockstar ... Even a king can fall we have seen it in the past with other huge franchises in all art forms... Hope i am wrong though. They have a lot to prove with this Cayo Perico heist, especially after saying it's going to be the biggest one yet. I like to be open minded and optimistic but its hard with [email protected] like this.

When in cover, first person aiming, or wearing a mask, you can spam snacks and it will fill up 300 health in like 1 second with Egochasers. Personally, I don't even use armor unless I'm completely out of snacks.

Seeing that 0.1 notification when completing a daily is incredibly demoralising. Almost deleted the game when it popped up.

-Very little content which is incredibly disappointing after how light naturalist was on content. -Huge gold nerf and and huge rise in gold costs on new items. -Quality of life features like cook multiple pieces meat and carry more ammo stuck behind a pay wall and won't be available after a few months. -New bugs plus a lot of old ones have not been fixed. - gaudy, expensive and useless new cosmetic items added (my opinion)

COVID is a lame excuse for them. Most games I have are dropping high quality updates and have been all year. They may use it to explain away their piss poor updates but I think by now most people see it is exactly what the developers planned and it will not change.
