I actually hope not. Again I've said it before, but this DLC is a perfect time to take us from our comfort zone. No Oppressors, jets or anything else. Kinda like a survival game. I do believe we will get some vehicles to move around the island (my bets, outside of the ones we've seen is the Enduro and Manchez, maybe LADA Niva), but delivery of the cars would take a lot from the island, especially since it's not that big.15 points -

It doesn't necessarily take course the same way you described it. A game dev isn't likely to have the same free time you have when modding, cause list of priorities or what you've called the rabbit hole, and this sort of list isn't optional, it's expected of the dev to work with it. It's important because it's a professional manner, a dev is working with a team, if a scenario happens in which the dev alters a piece of code that accidentally causes an critical bug that hinders the productivity of three or two other devs, that specific dev would be obligated to fix his mess as soon as possible. Otherwise, that would lead to inability or incompetence, come full circle. Thus the list is relevant, in which monetization is prioritized within, reverting back to how the business model operates and how it affects prioritization, and I don't think there is a better alternative to the business model that can guarantee the same profit rates Rockstar keeps making from microtransactions (Leslie lawsuit claiming it has nearly 100% profit margin) in addition to the rate of new players joining in considering the game tends to stay within the top ten best-selling games. I think at this point, from a financial perspective and in regards to microtransactions, they probably just have to secure the interests of the 1% or a bit less than that to hit a bingo.14 points -

When it rains, it pours. What a weak move and combined with a lame DLC, they surely want to garner some heat this winter. Didn't think it'd get any worse after the upcoming DLC info. And to see some defending this or making excuses is just so disheartening to read too. This is why they do this bollocks, they know enough will just accept it and crack on. Tragic! They're obviously confident enough will forgive them for yet more crap, or that enough new mugs, err, I mean new players, will buy the standalone online and not even know the game was just nerfed like so too. f*cking clowns! They clearly don't respect the day one players that have put up with such a f*cked game for 2 years now. Ignored many highly requested features and modes/content ideas even though they said we were to shape the game plus the game still not working properly at all after this long. Well...I’ve been looking for a reason to drop this game but I couldn’t give up my streak. Thanks you, rockstar for making my decision to leave your game easier. another developer really needs to try making a western. I don’t understand it because if you’ve watched any of the Leone movies or even movies like 3:10 to Yuma or the quick and the dead you could make a good western game. It’s not fair these pricks just get to do whatever they want because they’re the only game in town.10 points -

Possible Solution to Oppressor MK2 Complaints?
Hoss Soss and 8 others reacted to Big Molio for a topic
My answer would be to get rid of it altogether. Don't get me wrong, I use mine all the time, but it's more of a deterrent to other Oppressor riders who would otherwise try their luck with me. As @Standard Deluxe 59says above, it is just too easy. Therefore it makes everything easy. It makes escape easy. It makes combat easy. It makes chasing bounties easy....etc etc I hate that it has stifled variety because of its versatility. You almost come to depend on it, to the detriment of every other vehicle the game has to offer. Why drive anywhere when you can hop on the Oppressor 2 and rocket boost fly there in a hot minute? Why bother flying to a rooftop with a cumbersome Buzzard, when getting there by Oppressor 2 is both quicker and easier? The Oppressor 2 became an overnight cheat mode vehicle, and I hate it for that. If they didn't get rid of it (plus the Deluxo, Thruster and the Oppressor 1) I would seriously limit it. No weapons or countermeasures Available only from Fort Zancudo Easier to fall off it. Cooldown on calling it in.9 points -

The most infuriating thing about the broomstick (and many other griefing related issues) is that it is incredibly easy to fix and is one script line away from being fixed, yet it won't ever happen. Just take the homing missiles off of it, but then kids are going to complain that they were robbed even if they were given a refund. Just nerf the homing missiles to the same as the OG homing missiles, nerf their range so you can actually take them down on-foot without minigun/heavy sniper/explosive sniper8 points -

Yeah have you seen how many Dipsh*t MKII users are able to free aim people on foot? It's probably the only thing this no skill special can do that requires more than three functioning brain cells. Removing tracking won't help all that much because of how easy this thing is to master. It's is the absolute epitome of an easy button. It pops up by your feet on command, can regenerate your health, you don't fall off when you crash, you can dart away with rocket boost at the first sign of trouble, sh*t it even has optional countermeasures if you get a missile sent your way and it has such a near nonexistent learning curve that anything with two fingers can figure out how to harass a lobby in less than an hour. Sorry but there really ain't a plausible way to balance this "bike" without disarming it.8 points -

As @Jason stated, Rockstar is betting on the influx of new players joining in via the standalone version. They aren't taking any chances and I'm surprised they are risking losing a great portion of the community with such decision, but I think the assertiveness behind it is merely due to GTAO's success. The $5 price tag is active from December till February, which is often the period they observe an increase in player numbers. Here's how I see it, they will wait it out up till either February or March, and decide from there whether the response is poor enough to alter the decision or good enough to carry on with the same form.7 points -

Believe me..I'd take it to the extreme. If the 20 rockets stay then they should all be non homing.. If all 20 rockets lock-on then make them buzzard missiles. Make users pay 180k+ for the missile refill Take away ALL rockets from the bike. Use for travel and scouting. (You can still have machine guns or explosive cannon) It's off MC menu entirely. No insurance cost for destroying it. Unless the user destroys it. I'm just trying to argue for a richer gta online experience is all. Online is extremely dull at the moment... People need to calm down. From my own experience: I always played this game in short bursts, like 2-3 weeks between months of breaks and I still made hundreds of gold bars without even trying too much (and without keeping the streak alive obviously). Two weeks ago I bought the gold tint for 4 weapons because I had nothing to do with the gold. Also, the grinding in this game is already easy and tbh too many vets kinda exploited this like in the good ol' days when everybody was collecting coins on a daily basis. At the end of the day it's a business and you want to make those that don't have much time to play thinking about buying some MTX. Sure, this is part of Rockstar's typical way of handling their online games (incompetent most of the times) and they should have done this at launch, but still.6 points -

You know what the funny thing is? Even if this backlash works and they reverse it, it wont make a difference. People are still gong to lose their Streaks in two days, the only way they can stop this is if R* does not implement it in the first place but they will just say; "Oops, after a few week's deliberation we have decided to restore Streaks to their original form" Players - Can we have our three hundred day Streaks back then? R* - lol no, f*ck you and your whore mother. Buy Gold you little bitch. Next we will find out that the RDO Standalone is the actual next gen version and all future DLC's will only work on that version. Conveniently after the five dollar grace period is over.6 points -

They refuse to listen after promoting that the players are to shape the game, they're determined to have us play the game their way instead of our own, it's 2 years old and still very broken too. I truly hope this hurts the game. It won't of course, too many will defend them on how this game is and moves like this. sh*t, people already praise them for breaking the game further 'coz interactions' lol. Speak for yourself, I am a veteran player, been playing since day two of online release and don't have all that much gold in my pockets. The problem here is that they do not give us anything to spend our gold on, and then they get angry that we are hoarding our gold so they punish us by making it harder to come by. If this is how they are going to continue, in a few months people may not even be logging on anymore to have to think about how they have done their player base wrong. Heck, I have spent hundreds of dollars on The Sims, have the complete collection of each version. So I am willing to spend money on DLC's and extra content, but by the way that R* is dealing with this. It's just shady and only convinces me not to spend any money on anything they are offering. If they want rich players to spend all of their gold, give them the properties amongst the tons of other requests that players have been quite vocal about wanting for the past 2 years. This would not only have made those players spend their money but it would have also satisfied them, and it would urge the newer players to spend the money to buy gold as well. For me that would be a win, win.. Right? Nobody is going to spend all of their gold on cow print vests...6 points -

Sad how simple it would be to properly nerf as well... The whole you cant use one temporarily when it gets destroyed, was just a bandaid fix to the real problem. Limiting the rocket count to something not stupidly high would be easy to change. Making them do much less damage would be easy to change. Making its speed slower would be easy to change. Making the firerate slower, would be easy to change. The rhino should of never of been buyable to begin with, the same way the mk2 should not of been added. Giving it a proper nerf would show they care slightly about the game. At least most of the other bs of "pvp" we can somewhat live with, rc vehicles being a good change, but the mk2 makes them all look like non issues.6 points -

If they take away our fast travel it's @beachfan12 fault! I'm only at just over a hundred gold, and 23 grand, so I could use more gold, yes. Seriously though, it's not about the amount of gold anyone has, it's the fact that they are punishing long term players who invested their time into this game because they (R*) have failed to offer us any reason to spend all of that gold that we have earned. Many have been hoarding that gold with the anticipation that great things were coming, and well after 2 years they gave us nothing. So of course the players are going to have amassed quite the wealth because what have they got to spend it on? If they want people to spend that gold and buy more from their store they need to offer us a reason to do that, and I'm an easy sell. Trust me. Give me the ability to purchase a ranch, more horses, solo servers, and the R* editor etc, and I will gladly pay. But don't punish me because I have played the game long term for what it is worth and more and have gained because of it. If they didn't want us playing they could have just said so.6 points -

Some numbers on what this change will do, assuming I didn't mess up the maths: The max gold bars per month is: Fresh streak: 215.6 GB Max streak: 308 GB On paper a 90 gold nerf per month doesn't seem like an awful lot, 215gb/month is still a lot with (so far) 200 gold bars being more than enough for any update. But, I would wager the vast majority of vets do not in fact do every challenge every day, going by figures I've seen I'd say most vets average perhaps 30-60 gold bars a month (2 challenges a day on average) with this change likely bringing that down to something like 15-30 gold bars a month. RDO right now is averaging a content update every six months, so in six months the average players gold bar haul could go from ~180-360 bars to 90-180. The Outlaw Pass is 40, a new role these days is 25. Throw in a mini seasonal pass which doesn't return any gold, or perhaps (heaven forbid) a content update every 3-4 months instead of every 6 months... and yea. So, unless you do more challenges and play more (which is a win for them) you will begin to spend more than you earn, which, well... Bumpy roads ahead for RDO. Edit: some more numbers based on doing two challenges per day on average: With a max streak: 28 With a fresh streak: 19.9 Six months between updates with those numbers assuming you literally do not spend any gold whatsoever in that time takes you down from ~168 bars to 119.4gb, a 48.6 bar difference. The price of a full pass, pretty much. Honestly, before now I and many others said dailies were the way to go to make gold in RDO, that they're easy peasy, and yea I was right... but what I didn't realise is how f*cking time consuming it was, and yet this is where they decided to focus their attention on. :|6 points -
